SqueezePlay requires installation too (it's in Beta at the moment
- take a look at the Developer forums for more info).
If you really want to avoid installing anything, how about using
Windows Media Player or similar with the stream.mp3 approach?

to access your library and play. This gives you the most control.
- Alternatively, you can use any web-enabled media device to tune into
http://[yourserver]:9000/stream.mp3 and use the web interface to choose
tracks to play.

I had that initially using the URL I found, but then found that 'this
link' (http://www.google.com/chrome) worked fine. Personally I wouldn't
bother, nothing above what Firefox offers IMO.

Keep an eye on the 'SqueezeCenter Roadmap'
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SoftwareRoadmap) - it's a good
indication of what to expect in future releases, and when.
As for the IR stuff - nobody's taken advantage of it yet but I doubt

If it's decided to have product-based boards, I would still like to see
General, Beginners (like a pre-sales board) and all the supplimentary
boards too (Music, Photos, etc).

Good point... but assuming it's wireless (I believe Virgin's are), the
range extender approach should still work if the existing route
