Exchange server does not have a spel cheker, but it does kick back
undeliverable messages which sometimes offer suggestions. can you copy and
paste the error? Do you swear that the email address is correct?
---What do I do with these messages if the email address is correct?
did you telnet
open the tracking logs with notepad or gnu emacs or whatever you prefer and
search for the competitors domain name in the logs. It will not be solid
proof at this point but it will give clues. Depending on what authority you
have to search mailboxes, this should narrow down the search. Please
open the address book and go to tools options. You could disable the name
checking/autocomplete *features*. It's in the advanced email options
somewhere under tools options. Just remember to have an 8 hour brown-bag
session for your end users that covers the ALT+k function.

that site is definitely better than the error.exe tool.

I thought I had *all* the cool toys/tools..same difference.. NEED More
toys
I think you answered your own question:
we do not use DNS nor Hosts entry for @x2.abc.com as we just indicate
the IP of that host in the forward all messages to this domain..that Hosts
receives messages just from us so they do not have any presence on the
internet...other than its IP address
If
are the same...but the ip is not
availableremember that we are instruicting Exchange directly to send
@x2.abc.com to specific IP...why do we need DNS in that scenario?

I tested stuffing a cat into a coffee mug. I had to use 18 coffee mugs and
cut the cat up into 126 pieces. It worked, but it was bad. Maybe if I used
the big Starbucks coffee mugs I would have had better results.
Hope this helps.

You have an InterScan VirusWall (Trend Micro). Just a thought, but this
might not be Exchange related.

Sorry,
Are you giving us the correct email addresses that report the errors? If so:
dgesmtp01.wcom.com reports this:
530 5.7.1 To: Address Not Valid: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mx08.mindspring.com reports this:
550 [EMAIL PROTECTED] unknown
