RE: (313) 313'ers in Tokyo? Techno recommendations?
I live in Nagoya, but been to Tokyo enough to know the place half decent. Clubs; Eleven is run by the same people as Yellow and in the same space - sadly been to neither as Yellow closed before I got here. Good clubs are Unit, Air not been to Module, Warehouse 702 but heard they're good. Then there is Womb, a huge club, sometimes great sometimes not so great, depends entirely on the night really and who is DJing. Record stores; definitely check out Shibuya, really good 'Banana Records' there, not too expensive as they deal in new used. synth shops; not sure whether this is relevant at all, but everytime I'm in Tokyo I make sure to call into www.echigoyamusic.com, this and a place called FiveG are crazy. Lined wall to wall with synths, fx etc... friendly staff, free to test the stuff out. Some (most) of the stuff is pricey but you can find some bargains now and again. A friend of mine stayed at a strange and fairly cheap little hotel called the Carlton Arms not too long ago. All the rooms are decorated with different themes by different artists... pretty cool idea. BUT, beware, my friend got stuck in a room with murals of winged transsexual she-beasts. so, you know, the place probably isn't everyone's cup of tea. http://www.carltonarms.com/ I've been more of an online music shopper since I moved to NYC, but I do like Etherea (Ave A btw 4th and 5th streets), A1 Records (6 St btw 1st Ave and Ave A), Other Music (4th St btw Broadway and Lafayette). Dance Tracks also usually has a decent Detroit/UR selection, but they treat me like a prick every time I go in there so I stopped giving them business. Also any good record shops I should be wasting money in? my mate always goes in 'sound library'. which appears an expensive shop, but he gets me some bits sometimes and they're half the price you'd pay off a dealer here. and they always seem to have good things in stock. also the fleamarkets are supposed to be hot but I dont know where they are. this is all for old stuff though. _ - End of message text This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. While I don't have a problem with someone finding my set boring, I do feel the need to address the 'lazy DJ' issue. When I approached the decks the master fader on the mixer was all the way up with the level completely red, the channel levels equally hot, and the Mackie monitor to my right blown out. This left me with the tiny monitor to my left that was already clipping. Given the fact that this was an art gallery with no 'sound guy', I couldn't really have turned the levels down and turned the house sound up. So, I had to wing it. I was often spending too much time trying to hear myself to appear 'less lazy'. It is true that one track did run out in the process though the next beatmatched record was brought in before the next measure had even run out. But hey, you can't win em all. The truth is that I don't tour Europe and play like that, because these conditions do not present themselves in Europe. In any case, I thank you for coming and dancing (footloose indeed!). There's a partial mix up on my site that is more typical of what I like to do with a couple of turntables. All the best, Jeff SamUEL http://jeffsamuel.com

(313) Fw: Dave Clarke - Press Release.... The Move from Vinyl to CD!!!!!!
The Move from Vinyl to CD After some time (I wanted to move to CD in 1997) I have finally got a machine that I believe is sonically and technically up to the job of replacing the hallowed and much loved 1210. I was originally asked to demo the Technics CD deck in New York at the beginning of the year but I didn't have the space in my calendar, however after finally getting my hands on one I have concluded that I will now switch over to CDs in the short term, this will take some time and allow me to road test the machine in clubs. Initially I will bring my own, but would appreciate any promoters that read this and have budget to either hire or buy, to supply 2-3 of them, eventually my technical rider will change and any one with questions can send either an email to my office or speak to my road manager direct. Please note that Pioneer/Denon or other makes of CD decks will not be used, furthermore technical 1210s will still be needed. I know some of you flat earthers will be upset, but whilst I love vinyl its time has been written on the wall for ages and I felt that Final Scratch and Albeton live wasn't for me in terms of interface and sound quality (although some djs have their own valid and difference opinions). In my mind at the moment the pros outweigh the cons, it will speed up the both mine and other producers music to clubs (being cheaper for smaller labels/artists), the bass frequencies will be fatter and stereo (in non bridged systems), the flexibility in mixing techniques not available to vinyl (and some computer systems ) are exciting, and it uses a standard that is already tried and tested. The only cons that I can think of are slower load up time than vinyl and inability of titling each CD with vdu outlet to a central LCD. I believe these are not unsurmountable problems. I must also say that this is an entirely professional decision, I am not sponsored by this company. Finally Notice to promo/record companies and artists: Please from now on can you send both vinyl and CD of all singles/albums that you feel suit the material that I play out e.g.: Novamute, Ruskin, inigo Kennedy, Victim, end2end, twilight, 76, turbo, Birmingham Boys, DiskoB, Gigolo, electrix etc. etc. etc. Can all CDs please be labelled clearly as cdrs without writing/print can easily be lost, also please dont forget to finalize, and if it has been professionally mastered please label production copy. Only 16bit 44.1 will be played, mp3 will be ignored. Finally, if you can afford to, than please send any back cat on CD if you know I have been a fan! Heard brilliant reports from mates who were there though... Caught a bit of Jeff Mills yesterday evening though which was excellent, he's really on fire at the moment... I reckon theres a high chance of the BBC 4 stuff being repeated. I missed all the programmes. Apparently they'll be showing highlights on BBC1 and BBC2 Scotland over the next couple of weeks. They showed a few minutes of Jeff Mills last night, and I'm pretty sure there will be some of the Carl Craig set on future programmes... On Saturday's TV highlights they had an interview with Marco Bernardi in his Carlos Adolfo Dominguez guise which was supposed to be hilarious, I hope they repeat this :) Just found some more info here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/musicscotland/tinthepark/?section=radio_tvpag e=index Was Tom on the TV? Fortunately not :) Cheers, Tom
Re: (313) T in the park/Sufjan Stevens
I'll be there on the Sunday - me and a mate are going to be DJing in between all the acts in the King Tut's tent so listen out for some Detroit techno before Orbital and some Moodymann before Amy Winehouse :) Hopefully I'll manage to check out a bit of Mills - wouldn't mind also seeing a bit of the Rapture, N*E*R*D and Massive Attack too... Have a good one - the weather forecast's looking good :) Cheers, Tom On 8/7/04 2:50 pm, Paul Fyffe [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Anyone going this weekend? Re: (313) Landcruising
It came out on Blanco y Negro - it was never a Planet E release AFAIK... http://www.discogs.com/release/37877 Also worth tracking down from that period is the Science Fiction 12 (taken from the Landcruising LP and also on Blanco y Negro) which has a great Kenny Larkin remix - and the original 'Paperclip Edit' is just incredible... http://www.discogs.com/release/17398 Both are out of print so it's eBay/GEMM I reckon, unless there's any shops out there with good second-hand/vintage stock... Cheers, Tom I think ive spotted it not too long ago - not a Planet E release but someone else who must have liscenced it. Re: (313) track ID
Sorry for the delayed reply on this one, just got back from a week away to find a 313 email mountain! It was me who originally sent the link to 313 - we recorded the set when Rob came and played for us at the Unit, and put the mix on the Traxx site at www.traxxevents.com/music. But we had to take it down because the link got crossposted to loads of other forums all over the web and the ensuing thousands of downloads rapidly blew our monthly bandwidth limit! If anyone still wants to download it I can provide a super-secret link to where the file now resides, but I'd rather do this over private mail for obvious reasons. Anyway, back to your original question, it's Mine To Give by Photek w/ Robert Owens, from his Solaris album on Virgin/Science. Also came out on 12 with some fairly wack commercial house remixes I believe... Talking of Virgin/Science, I picked up a copy of Stacey Pullen's album recently and can't believe I slept on it when it first came out, there are some ridiculously good tracks on there, a really unique kind of sci-fi broken beat/techno hybrid... Cheers, Tom On 30/6/04 12:42 am, Matt MacQueen [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: There was a link of this sent to 313 at one point Robin this mix wasn't on your site was it? (313) Quick Sonar report
Music highlights for me were: Jeff Mills on Saturday night - incredibly funky and intense, with several mindblowing moments, including a blistering 909 solo and a jaw-dropping piece of work using Sugarhill Gang's Rappers Delight on the new Pioneer DVD deck... Francois K on the Friday afternoon - from Burial Mix to Tres Demented to dub poetry to Stardancer to Instant House to Strings Of Life via loads of top-notch laptop, FX and EQ wizardry, in the sunshine with beer in hand... Soma party at La Terrazza on the Thursday night - not strictly part of Sonar but probably the best vibe of the whole last week, with what seemed like half of Glasgow in attendance. Truly stunning open-air venue on the hillside and loads of smiling people... Roots Manuva at the Sonar Pro party on the Thursday night - went here before the Soma party and was most impressed with Roots Manuva's live set. Great sound, tight band, top tunes... Madlib and co on the Saturday night - jazz drum solos aplenty from Madlib and Prefuse 73, some seriously phat beats from J-Rocc on the decks and some amusing rhyming from Prince Po... Honourable mention also to Matthew Dear's live set on the Friday... Didn't really see a huge amount of music, but the stuff we made an effort to check out was generally excellent. Had an absolutely brilliant time overall and I'm really glad I decided to go again... Cheers, Tom

Re: (313) Glasgow
Am I right in thinking Mark Moritz Von Oswald played in Glasgow on Saturday? Not quite, it was actually Scion doing their 'arrange and process Basic Channel' live set... Tom as well? Yep, doing an 'arrange and process Emoticon/Headspace' live set :) Plus Joe Claussell in the other room... How was it? Anyone go? It was a pretty good night, spoiled only by a pretty ropey sound system in the Scion room which didn't really do any of the music justice. The afterparty at the Unit was suitably messy, Max 404 rocked it and I carried on playing records until the mixer packed in... Were they doing a live type thing, or just playing records with tikiman toasting? It was a twin-laptop Ableton setup. But Mark and Moritz did come up with Tikiman a couple of months back to do the records toasting thing... Here's some pretty good pics of me, Scion and Joe Claussell if you're interested: http://www.archstanton.net/g01/traxxmp0406/index.html Cheers, Tom
Re: (313) Glasgow
Then Scion came on, after about 10 seconds it was obvious that the sound system couldnt handle the bass they were trying to put through it - not sure if there was a problem with the system or if it simply wasnt up to the task, although im sure the Traxx boys know the bass that the Basic Channel tracks have and would have thought the sound system would take that into account. Perhaps Tom can give some info on that? The problem was mainly down to the sound engineer in the room - the same guy who ruined the sound when Francois K played at the Arches. The system itself was up to it, and it sounded fine when we soundchecked earlier in the evening, but the engineer in his infinite wisdom decided to keep messing around with the EQ and the levels over the course of the night, and it just seemed to get worse and worse. This was a major disappointment for everyone, and Traxx have taken steps to make sure he's never in charge of one of their sound systems again. We were all very p*ssed off about it and apparently many harsh words have been spoken by the Traxx boys to those concerned... Apparently Scion are keen to come back later in the year, with Tikiman, and do the set again in a smaller venue with a sound system that will do them justice, so I'll keep you posted as and when I know more... Cheers, Tom

(313) Scion Tikiman in Glasgow
Just a quick reminder for 313 heads north of the border (or who fancy a trip to sunny Glasgow this weekend) - Scion Tikiman will be doing the 'arrange and process Basic Channel' thing live in the Traxx room at the Arches on Saturday. Joe Claussell will also be playing in the Melting Pot room. I'll be playing alongside Scion with an Ableton Live set based on material from the Emoticon and Headspace back catalogues, plus a DJ set to finish the night off. Full event info at http://www.traxxevents.com There's also an afterparty at the Unit with some of the usual suspects and some special guests. Should be a good night... Apologies to non-UK listers! (313) Jockey Slut goes down
I haven't posted for a while, so it's unfortunate that the first time I do post again it is to share bad news: the publishing company behind Jockey Slut magazine (and Sleaze, formerly Sleazenation) has gone into liquidation. The new issue - the first in the new 3-monthly format - has just been printed and will be on sale in the usual outlets, but will be the last issue for the forseeable future. Annoyingly, the problem was said to be due to financial difficulties with another unconnected part of the company's business, not that the mag itself wasn't selling enough. There goes another mag willing to write about techno, then. So, what titles are left in the UK now? DJ, IDJ, The Wire, M8, Mixrag... any more? Bah, TOM

im going to ask buzz what the deal is. (anybody here have any ideas why they cant do a decent re-press?) admittedly, the big band didnt just play old numbers, they played a couple of his compositions too When I saw them in Sonar last year they were playing only his compositions (i.e. the tracks from the Goodbye Swingtime album), no 'old numbers' at all - is the current tour different then? I'm going to see them in Edinburgh tomorrow... I know what you're saying about it not being 'cutting edge' as such because of the use of a retro form of instrumentation - but I enjoyoed it as a musical performance. Re: (313) Scion/Moritz Von Oswald in London
Did anyone see Scion on Friday? or Moritz Von Oswald Sunday night? I went to see Rhythm Sound and Paul St Hilaire (the artist formerly known as Tikiman) in Glasgow on Friday. The event was held at the WInter Gardens on Glasgow Green - an enormous glass conservatory filled with exotic plants, attached to the People's Palace museum in the middle of a huge park. Mark and Moritz were in their 'Rhythm Sound 45 sessions' guise, which meant they were basically just playing dub 7s, with Moritz working an echo unit and a dub siren and Paul St Hilaire doing live vocals on top. Plenty of sublime moments, although they didn't play any of their own material, just loads of obscure dub records, most of which I didn't recognise. All good fun though, and they were accompanied by some excellent visuals courtesy of the Glasshouse Transmissions crew - hats off to them for another adventurous night of clubbing in the city, following their previous events with the likes of Weatherall, Skam DJs and Plaid at the same venue. So did anyone go and see RS at Plastic People in London on Sunday? I bet it would have sounded awesome on that sound system... Cheers, Tom

(313) Kraftwerk last night
Just to say how much I enjoyed the Werk gig at Brixton last night. I mean, I kind of knew I would, but was pleased not to be disappointed in any way. I loved and revelled in every minute of it. They were just... magnificent. I met up with friends and ran into a few others by chance, plus of course saw some 313ers there too. The whole thing felt like a real celebration, of the band themselves and their music, but also of electronic music in general. (Even despite the couple in front of us, who talked amongst themselves the whole way through, mostly not even facing towards the stage). What's been slightly disappointing have been the reviews I've read today in both the Independent and the Observer newspapers of the Thursday night show at the RFH, with both reviewers (Simon Price and Kitty Empire) repeating the tired old cliche that - to quote Empire by way of example - 'Kraftwerk's austere music has brought them misguided accusations of being fascists'. Neither reviewer is suggesting that they ARE fascists, of course, but I do think this is one of the lamest examples of music hack cliches that I've seen recently. I mean, if they're misguided accusations, then why repeat them? What's the point? All you do by doing that is perpetuate them. Once again though, a great night that I'll remember for a long time. TOM

I'm going to phone him now, and take great pleasure in telling him. the big daft sod. nahh, an original pressing is still something to cherish (if that's what he has actually found). :] what's the other essential Ris track? is it pineapples or something? Hmm, maybe?? but i *think* Pineapple is another italo-ish group of same era, i think their big hit on Chicago hotmix radio was come over here girl or maybe it was called I like your style? Was on one of the Intergalactic Gary tape-edit mixes you could download from I-f's Cybernetic Broadcasting System site...have i confused you enough with my half-facts? ;P peace
Re: (313) things
anyone got any good jokes? Shamelessly copied from another list: noddy holder goes into a boutique in central brum to buy an outfit for the 1974 totp xmas special. 'owright, nod!' shouts the assistant, 'what can we dow for yow today?' nod replies, 'oid like to buy some roight special gear off yow, its gotta be woild woild woild cos its chrstmas!' the assistant goes into the back, and brings nod a pair of ultra-woild loon pants. nod tries on the loon pants and yelps 'these are fookin fantastic! oill 'ave 'em, luv!' she brings him a sexy tightfitting puce satin shirt with collars that reach as far as dudley. nod nearly wets himself in front of the mirror. 'oi tell yow wot, mate, this shirt is fookin fantastic!' the girl brings out a foot tall mirrored top hat. nod nearly jizzes in his pants. she furnishes him with her finest 11-inch tall red snakeskin platform boots. nod looks the bollocks. finally, an hour later, nod is togged up. he's ready to go, but the assistant looks him over and isnt quite happy. 'noddy', she says, 'do you know, i reckon what yow need is a kipper tie.' nod replies: 'aw, cheers, luv! milk two sugars please!'

(313) Juan Atkins, Louis Digital and CiM last Saturday...
Great night of music in Glasgow on Saturday. First up was Juan Atkins and Louis Digital at the Arches - Louis warmed up in fine style with a nice mix of Detroit classics and jacking Chicago gear with plenty of his own material thrown in. Juan played a set that for me wasn't too exciting, peppered with classics but also a fair amount of fairly dull looped bangers - but he seemed to rock the crowd well enough. The fun really started afterwards, however, with a party at the Unit which kicked off around 3.30. First up was a live set from CiM which was my musical highlight of the night, if not the year - building from sublime electronica to some of his more uptempo Emoticon/Headspace releases and some wonderful unreleased tracks. Juan stepped up again for a two hour set of much more interesting music - house tracks from Theo Parrish and Joshua, a few of his own classics and some really nice deep techno. His mixing may be a bit ropey but the tunes make up for it - and hey, he invented techno, we can cut him a little slack :) Louis finished the night off with another rocking set, until Jupiter Jazz with the EQs up finally caused the sound system to collapse and we called it a night at 7am. A proper Glasgow party... Some Glasgow events coming up soon: March 27: Arne Weinberg Matt Chester April 2: Rhythm Sound w/ Tikiman April 10: Robert Hood Mail me off-list if anyone wants more info. Kraftwerk tomorrow night! Can't wait... Cheers, Tom
Re: (313) samples
iirc, double helix jacked the same string samples for one of their tunes on their emoticon 12. what track are those strings from? There are no samples on the Emoticon release - all the strings are played live and multitracked by Hans Anderson, an accomplished violin and cello player... But the Deep Burnt strings are from Freddie Hubbard's Little Sunflower, which is also one of Theo's Ugly Edits... Cheers, Tom

(313) Fw: THROBBING GRISTLE - The Taste Of TG - Out 3rd May
THROBBING GRISTLE The Taste of TG A Beginner's Guide to the Music of Throbbing Gristle Release Date - 3rd May 2004 When dubbing Throbbing Gristle as the Wreckers of Civilisation, the late Tory MP Sir Nicholas Fairbairn couldn't have provided the industrial music/art/guerrilla media troupe with a better manifesto. For Genesis P. Orridge, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Peter Christopherson and Chris Carter, Throbbing Gristle advocated total musical and personal freedom and the self-empowerment to achieve it. Between 1975 and 1981 they troubled eardrums, shattered preconceptions and changed lives, and the repercussions of their sonic, ideological and industrial experiments are still being felt today. These repercussions were most recently highlighted by some of today's electronic peers paying homage to TG's pioneering experiments. Mutant TG (novamute) is the first ever TG remix collection whereby contemporary producers such as Carl Craig, Two Lone Swordsmen and Simon Ratcliffe provide stunning reworks of classic TG. Now with The Taste Of TGyou can sample their unadulterated majesty, a Beginner's guide to the enigmatic and elusive Throbbing Gristle. Unlike many of their punk peers Throbbing Gristle deployed their music as a weapon attacking the apparatus of the music industry. TG set up their own imprint, Industrial Records, for the distribution of their noises and even incorporated the art gallery practice of making special limited edition hand-assembled LPs, pre-packaged videos and live cassettes. In addition, they sent out regular pop profile communiqués, including special postcards, patches and badges, which detailed the activities of the various members. Nothing was beneath them. TG have never been afraid to confront, confound and expose. Whilst 1978's 'United' sounds like an eerie football chant referencing occultist Aleister Crowley's Love Is The Law., over a crackled electro groove, its B-side - named for the chemical used in Nazi death chambers, 'Zyklon B Zombie' was deliberately recorded so as to sound like it was being broadcast through a haze of gas. Other equally disturbing TG classics include the queasy 'Hamburger Lady', where Genesis intones a letter describing the plight of a woman with horrific fat burns in a feeble voice echoed by nagging electronics. TG also often displayed a more harmonious and gentle side that was adeptly shown on their most accessible album, 1979's 20 Jazz Funk Greats and the disco hypnosis of 'Hot on The Heels of Love' whilst 'Weeping' originally from The Third And Final Report reverberates beautifully around four types of acoustic violin through a space echo. Indeed, if tracks such as 'Dead On Arrival' further underpin TG's status as electronic funk pioneers then the ultra-disturbing and grating 'We Hate You (Little Girls)' seems only to further prove that TG were and still are unique outsiders who consistently buckled the mould and in doing so laid the foundations for today's maverick producers. As Throbbing Gristle were to later state. We wanted to re-invest Rock music with content, motivation and risk. Our records were documents of attitudes and experiences and observations by us and other determinedly individual outsiders. Fashion was an enemy, style irrelevant. Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson, Genesis P-Orridge and Cosey Fanni Tutti have announced that they will briefly regroup to present RE~TG, a weekend of music, art, film and performance culminating in an exclusive set by Throbbing Gristle, live for the first time in 23 years and never to be repeated. This is the final ever TG show. The location will be Pontin's Holiday Resort, Camber Sands, Sussex, UK. RE~TG will take place on 14th-16th May 2004. Also available: TG+ released on Mute on 26th January 2004 - contains CD releases of the final ten live Throbbing Gristle shows, the companion to the legendary TG24 box set. Mutant TG released on novamute on 29th March 2004 - remixes of classic TG by Carl Craig, Two Lone Swordsmen, Simon Ratcliffe, CarterTutti, Hedonastik and Motor. (313) Fw: Detroit Grand Pubahs New Album
ARTIST: DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS TITLE: GALACTIC ASS CREATURES FROM URANUS LABEL: POKER FLAT FORMAT: 2 x CD / 2 x 12 CAT. NO.: PFRCD11 / PFRLP11 RELEASE DATE: 26th APRIL 2004 The seminal electro-funk outfit from Detroit returns with a second album. 'Galactic Ass Creatures From Uranus' spans a full variety of minimal techno, dirty P-Funk, raw hip-smart booty beats and downbeat electronic grooves - all spiced-up with a healthy portion of humour, cartoon sexuality and the search for the perfect booty. As ever the vocoder-pitched vocals by Paris The Black Fu and the other odd characters mark their distinctive signature sound. Founded in 1998, the Pubahs group around producer and vocalist Paris The Black Fu and his forked personalities. Their first single, 'Sandwiches', became a huge worldwide club hit overnight and made it into the Billboard dance charts as well as in the UK Top20 sales charts. The album 'Funk All Y'all' was released in 2001 on the now defunct Jive Electro imprint. Since then, the Pubahs completed a world tour and started working on 'Galactic Ass Creatures From Uranus'. Again the new album is brimful of straight forward booty tracks, raw Funk and weird skits, but this time relaxed downbeat electronic grooves enrich the Pubah's sound cosmos and make the 'Galactic Ass Creatures From Uranus' a state of the art electronic album whilst of course being great fun to listen to. Smoothly starting with 'Landing in Detroit', the second track 'God Impostors' makes a pure funk statement, before the emotional Electro track 'Surrender' leads over to 'Big Onion'. 'If you like the way I drop my funk: just shake it!' Next up is the darker side of the album with 'Definition of Sick' and 'Dead Presidents', before the epic 'Tig O' Bake Fitties' lays out a downtempo funk ode to natural body parts. The beautifully gentle lounger 'Bite The Pillow Talk' lets you take breath for some more punchy booty beats on 'Freak' and 'Weed in the Kitchen'. 'The Clapper' picks up on the sleeve design and reports from another alien intrusion in that typical Detroit Grand Pubahs style. After already introducing Dick Cannon ('Bite the Pillow Talk', 'Training With Dick Cannon') Bill Crosby ('Weed In The Kitchen') and Dirty Elvis DePorno ('Freak') amongst Paris The Black Fu we also meet Nurse Hurse again, a character that was initially involved on the debut album. Finally, the hypnotising 'Novacane' sets a speech by Malcolm X to music. The first 12 outtake (The Clapper feat. Jesper Dahlback remix, pfr38) from the album has already stirred quite a buzz and made it into many club charts including the official German Dance charts. The next single 'Big Onion' (feat. Joakim remix, pfr43) will be released in March and will come with a video. The most prominent guest musicians involved in the album are Scott Sumner (engineering) and Randall G. Lynch (guitar) who are regular studio musicians for George Clinton. The album release will be supported by an extended European tour starting in late February in Dublin. Paris The Black Fu is also organising a Funk Stage on the 10 Days Off festival in Belgium in July. CD Tracklisting 1. Landing In Detroit 2. God Impostors 3. Surrender (The Bedroom Edit) 4. Re: (313) what's your favorite track/album right now?/HIP HOP
m. pritchard (sp?) has a nice 12 out as harmonic33 on some german label. That's Alphabet Zoo - there's actually a couple of 12s and a CD album from Harmonic33 so far... The Danny Breaks releases on Alphabet Zoo are also well worth checking - 'The Jellyfish' from his 'Another Dimension' release kicks off the 20.02.04 radio show at www.spatialsounds.com (under 'sounds') - nice stuff in the Dabrye/Prefuse 73 kinda mould... Here's some links: http://www.discogs.com/label/Alphabet_Zoo http://www.rekkid.co.uk/alphabetzoo/ http://www.gmediamusic.com/partnerships/harmonic33.html And Rob, yes it's Mark Pritchard of Reload/GlobComm etc fame - doing much better solo work than Tom Middleton these days IMHO :) Cheers, Tom
