(313) stuff I'm diggin'/ re: next mixshow

2009-03-04 Thread Andrew Duke
Have been laid up with the flu for over a week now so haven't even been
able to

think about doing a new mixshow, plus the site was down for a couple of days
due to server issues and is now back online; usually each show is only
online for 2 weeks,
but because of the above I'm leaving this one and the previous 2 up
longer, so if anyone missed them,
here's some things I'm currently diggin' plus the deets on the last and
previous mixshows below:

np Reggie Dokes--Let Me Go (Offering Recordsings OR008/Belgium) deep
house! recommended

Sven Laux and Jin Choi EPs on Archipel
Henrik Schwartz remix on Fine Art
latest on Logos
Dave Hughes and Justin Maxwell EPs on Palette
Dubbyman's Tales From The Deep EP
new Christian Bloch on Subtrak
Tomas Jirku remix of Rift on Thoughtless
new 2-tracker from Asad Rizvi on Wrong
2 remixes packages forthcoming on Delsin
AGF/Delay on Bpitch Control
CFaith on SubSensory
lots more but my head and stomach are doing too much swimming to keep typing

2008-01-30 Thread Odeluga, Ken
Hmm.

This guy is also verging on getting banned from some 313-related lists on
Discogs and has also caused probs on the UR forum too.

He seems to have a dispute with Pacou, to whom he often refers obliquely:

"(PACman Overall Universal)"

...although I don't know what it is specifically.

Unfortunate chap.

2008-01-27 Thread info
I don't understand, I just being on holiday since a week, some vacation was
needed after the falming war of a psychostalker against me and hopefully this
will end these days for sure.

Well yeah, heard about the mobbing sedations against me called "warnings" as
well as the haters around, so there we must just resist.FXCK THAT SXXT.

and kent, if possible please communicate around things like that via private
mail messaging not over the list direct shown up for everyone.

at least, yeah, since ever many people get on hating when they stick into my
mixes.it's just my talent of djing and good music records .

RE: (313) stuff on discogs for sale

2008-01-24 Thread info
Please don`t start a flaming war on here, I'm NOT interested in this issues and
cases.

I know, that I've been a victim of their actings & actions.

I don`t hurt anybody or crash anybody`s life and business due my own serious
sucessfull networking or anythings else.

I`m not interested in people like pac or whatever and their own business for
real.

I just take care on myself and my own business and this is just eveybodys own
right & freedom.

I please you to stop with acting like this everywhere and keep calm in everyway.

the music & media business mainly in dj business is NOT a battle field of war
zone, but friendly competition and a contest in a sportsway ( so if you`re not
a sportsman like me with skateboarding in my youth besides djing and record
collecting, you don`t have a clue what really a competition is and you act with
unfair methods, there fore you recive the red card and even harder) with your
talent in djing or whatever.

Me is just a techno house electro 3 turntable Diskjockey (dj since childhood
for real, grown up with motown and vinyl as well as direct drive
recordplayer in public since early youth started in school at summer
festival 1990 and professional techno club dj since 1996 officially) AND
professional Manger (graduated occupation in Industrial business management)
NOT a producer / live act, very different, just respect this.

thanks in advance.

regards.

I have stacks of flyers from the Cisco people for the Transmat releases so
if you're in Oz and would like one, send me your mailing address (privately)
and I will post one to you... (If I can overcome my dreaded hate of queues
in post offices, he he. I owe someone else on this list a big parcel too.)
There is some good info on there.

Cisco has exclusive distribution. The Japanese market is hugely supportive
of Transmat artists and the people are really dedicated. I am sure that the
releases will find their way out there eventually.
So many major distributors in Europe have gone under that it's difficult to
get things out there these days in current circumstances.

I believe the Derrick May Edits CD on the Movement package is only available
with the Japanese edition and that is because Derrick didn't want people on
a wider level thinking it was a mix-CD, per se.

one thing i've learned- whether sending or recieving from the us, it seem

That would explain the Transmat, but I was in Japan last month and Cisco also
had brand spankin new reissues of the first Planet E Designer Music 12". They
were 2500 Yen (Around $25 US), and I assumed they were in line with the other
69 reissues. But I havent heard anything about the Designer Music back here in
the states since then..

Anyone know about that one? The Cisco guy thought they may be over here later
this year, but I got the impression he was just guessing.

Well they're pretty nuts about detroit techno (any Japanese listmembers
on 313 want to chime in?)

It's all about money for the label, and the distribution.. and wait,
before I get jumped: I don't mean that in a bad or insulting way
either. i mean in the past with Detroit Techno getting global
exposure, it was the UK and Belgium (Network & Buzz labels
respectively, later R&S too, also Tresor/Hardwax) who worked deals to
license or publish or distribute Detroit artists that were outside of
Detroit. Now Japan is taking interest.. and actually has for some
time now. If you are a detroit label and someone wanted to help you
put out a whole mess of your music and pay you nicely for it... I can
see it's an attractive model to someone like Transmat who has a really
great reputation for music but not always the best mechanisms for stock
dissemination, exposure, pressings, CDs, etc. etc.

I'm just happy there's so much new music coming out... looking forward
to that Microworld too.. Also what were some of the other artists I
remember seeing at the Cisco tent at Movement? There were a couple of
names I didn't immediately recognize... but I didn't want to get the
CDs without hearing them first actually.

Agreed 100% with all that, and the stuff above it that I snipped out. Even
'Got Me Puzzled' (which I think is wicked) has not really found its way into
many of my sets lately. Mostly just Domu stuff, and Titonton, but they're
really doing their own things, and Domu might even be getting a bit similar
to himself, but I'm just not sick of it yet.

Yeah. It has grown on me, but I'm not sure that I'd rate it quite that high
personally. I just think it's really nice and definitely beautiful - but
maybe it's just not different enough from the pack to really knock my socks
off. I'll definitely be playing it for a while though. No complaints with it
really. :)

Thought this sounded nice too - but just not different enough from the
standard Ron Trent style to justify a purchase. Think I'm going through a
'bought too many records in the last three months and want something really
distinct' phase maybe.

yeah, im not sure how i feel about broken beat stuff right this
minute. perhaps im just being unintenionally reactionary, but it
seems like theres a huge push behind it right now without any new
stellar tunes to back it up. afronaught and g force spun here on
friday, and while they were good, they werent mind blowing. and as
for records that have come out, i guess its just like everything
is sounding sameish. there hasnt been any tunes that crush any
dancefloor like "hold it down", "loose lips", or "this aint tom
and jerry" anytime recently. i was massively dissappointed with
the bugz rmx of the phuturistix track after a few listens, and
alot of their other stuff has just been mediocre. ive been feeling
john arnold's stuff alot more than the west london cats recently.
perhaps its because his stuff sounds more raw. the west london
stuff is rapidly approaching over production IMO. some of my
favorite broken beat records of the last year have been the
twisted funk releases simply because of their rawness. recently it
seems to be the concensus of people i chill with all the time that
broken beat is best mixed up with other genres, and i feel like it
might be because theres just not enough stellar material to play
unless you dig out every anthem or semi anthem the scene has
produced.

>Kinda cool, but I dunno. Didn't sell me for some reason. Way

>that Kelley Polar.

ill be getting my copy of the kelly polar tommorrow. if that rmx
is the same one that was on the verve rmxed LP, then yeah i was
totally underwhelmed as well. i guess the concept of metro area is
better for original material than for remixing.

>Someone please yell at me if any of these are grave mistakes -
before it's
>too late! ;)

i feel you on your passes. i hope youre feeling that new mahogani
more than when you picked it up. that tune is year end top 10
material for sure. what a beautiful record. and i picked up that
ron trent rmx of the amp fiddler, and while its probably my least
favorite amp related record thus far, its still pretty nice.

(313) Stuff I Passed On

2003-12-03 Thread Phonopsia
New stuffs that looked really promising but didn't quite make it in my
basket. All sounded good, but for reasons below, I passed:

Dego & Kaidi (feat. Face & Vanessa Freeman) - Ain't Nothin' You Cant Feel -
2000Black
Natures Plan - Somewhere Beyond - Far Out

Both of these have that characteristic West London vocal chorus. I think
I may be getting tired of it. Kinda heavy after a while. Really like the
beats/bass on the house version of Natures Plan though.

Izzi Dunn- Big Picture Remixes (Seiji /Mark Force/Special mix ) - Fireworx
Lionel Hampton - Vibramatic - Crippled Dick Hot Wax

Both nice, but unessential

Masekela, Hugh: Mama (Metro Area remix) (Verve US)

Kinda cool, but I dunno. Didn't sell me for some reason. Way more into
that Kelley Polar.

Tons out right now, and lots of it is really hard to get a sense of through
online clips. I was totally on the fence with a lot of stuff, but will have
a full report on the actual acquisitions soon. Not a ton of house that's
really pushing my buttons in the last couple of weeks, other than a load of
new Joshua and that Kelley Polar. Lots of techno and 'techno soul' though
(seems to be the new term on the block - and for once, I think it fits)!

Someone please yell at me if any of these are grave mistakes - before it's
too late! ;)

(313) Stuff records #1 ep

2003-11-12 Thread Dr. Nutcracker
I just noticed on undercity's distribution website that a limited amount of
copies the Stuff #1 EP suddenly have resurfaced!!!
I know it's more IDM, but don't disregard those marvelous Electro tracks of
Sparky and Redshift...
It's not a big suprise that the people at Warpmart were raving about this
release. ; )

i think tejada is going to be up there sometime soon. ayro and
john arnold are definitely playing somewhere on a saturday night
this month in cleveland as well, cant remember the venue. titonton
is also playing like twice in the next 2 months. a good club that
supports the deep sounds is Touch. that place rules.
