UR003 (Final Frontier) T-Shirt

2018-06-14 Thread Steven Robertson
Hey

Rubadub got some official UR003 t-shirts that look pretty cool.

https://www.rubadub.co.uk/records/catalogsearch/result/?q=ur003

I read it on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/rubadub_glasgow/status/1006935929897046017

I didn't hesitate to order one. They're currently temporarily out of the
X-Large ones though, but they'll probably have more in stock soon I guess.
Anyway, I thought some other UR fans would probably be into this.

Cheers

Steve

Rob -

Thanks for the update. Just ordered. I really hope 100% of the
PROCEEDS go to Dan's fund, I think the Ghostly site said 100% of the
PROFITS go to the fund.

Anyway, a nice token remembrance for an important founding member of the scene.

(313) Dan: The T-Shirt

2011-08-30 Thread rob theakston
People of Techno,

Hi. Rob Theakston here. You may know me from such emails as "DEMF
Weepy Memories" or "Does Anyone Know Where The Hell I Can Find This
Glass Domain Record For Cheap?"

Many of us have known Dan for well over a decade, and there are
countless others on this list who have enjoyed time with Dan through
his writing.

Through the generosity of countless people, the fund for Dan set up by
his family had exceeded its goal -- which is great news.

However, if you haven't donated already (which btw if you have --
thanks), the fine folks over at Ghostly have designed a t-shirt for
your consideration.

100% of the proceeds will be going directly into a fund to offset any
medical expenses and seed money for his daughter's education fund.

If I know anything about Dan, there was nothing in the world he valued
more than his family, and I would remiss in my friendship to him if I
didn't try to rally around everyone to consider purchasing a shirt to
help ease the burden during such a challenging and tragic time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me off list.

Thank you for your time. Back to quietly scowling.

yeah, but the t-shirt wasn't made when Fehlmann made Tresor 003 or when
Speedy J was making "schranz"
and linking Craig to Hawtin and ending that legacy line at that clearly

take a look at the "top" of that tree - Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Basic

it's clearly just one person's preference - which is toward the mnml side
of things
by the way, I didn't call it ALL mnml - I said it all filters down to it -
as in as you get nearer the top it's mostly mnml artists (from what my

Yeah, it would be a great design if the "family" tree was made more
accurate. But I guess with all of the incestuous crossing paths and
confusions about who came first, it's a difficult undertaking to
create a proper tree.

The swirls on the design do well to kind-of hint at the crossovers though.

My minimum order was going to be at least 100 so I hope a few of
you other hundred [or least 77] lurkers rise to the occasion.
If that's it then I may be forced to get into the business of
offering the shirts at a standard rate for $15-20 each.

On a side note;

04 April 2008 - I'm DJing with Todd Osborn & Brian Gillespie for
return of FAMILY at OSLO [1486 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48226].

07 April 2008 - I'm doing a production discussion at SUBMERGE for
Red Bull Music Academy in Detroit. I'll be going over the changes
in production methods over the years, scratching the surface on my
techniques with Logic, Live, and incorporating it with the right

PS - If you're interested in buying one, please email me off list at

to print up. Shipping won't be included.

Will get costs for a 2-sided and 1-sided shirt. Ultimately they will
both be on black. Color palette for 1-sided is Cyan & white on
black, 2-sided is green & dayglo fluorescent orange on black. [I am
gunning for this one because it will be PHAT. ha ha.

Will ultimately print up more than necessary and sell them at the
Festival for a very "nice price".

they are. the term is being bastardized. in the early and mid 90s, trance
didnt mean what it means now, and music known as trance was some good stuff.

music listeners should apply one of two labels to music: good, or bad. the
rest is just marketing and psuedo-intellectual banter

contest to design it. There were a few submissions and a voting site. One
black and one white were chosen. They were sold at Record Time.

I wouldn't mind a hoodie!

T Shirt Finale

2001-04-18 Thread d . pinter
Hi everyone,

Well all the votes have been counted and recounted. Thanks to Roberto, Tim, and
Mike for helping out with that. We had two designs that pretty much got the
majority of the attention from the list. Actually the vote swung several times
between the two. I know several of you said it was a difficult choice to pick
between them. So the race was really between C and D or if your memory is a
little fuzzy, the 'record case' vs. the 'ren cen'.
Last sunday as I reviewed my totals and got some of the other numbers in, it
was clear that we didn't have one landslide winner, but two close contenders. I
had an idea, and spoke to Mike at Recordtime yesterday and we both agreed that
the two designs were very different and unique. So instead of limiting the
choice to one winner, both C and D will be produced. Both the designers have
already been contacted and given the news. Congratulations got out to both of
them. C (the record case)was designed by Chris who posts as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
And the designer of D (with a nod to UR) is going to remain anonymous. Again
both of them will be sporting free shirts for their efforts.
So what happens from here, well I have gotten some questions about price,
availability, and ordering. As far as price goes, I am talking with Mike at
Recordtime about that and some of it will depend on the initial order. I am
already in the process of getting quotes from printers together. For now it
looks like we should be able to have them at RT around the second week of May,
maybe a little sooner. I'd like to personally thank Mike for being interested
in this project and helping out.
As always if any of you have any questions you can email me privately but I
really can't provide a lot of specific details at this point. As soon as more
news piles up I will post another update.

Thanks again to everyone,
dave

It never got produced last year which is why I volunteered to try to get it
done this year. btw, I though a major fault of last year was the fact that
who every set up the voting assigned peoples names to their work. I opted to
keep things annonymous so that personal critiques might be avoided. Sorry
you didn't like one of the submission but there was three weeks for you to
have come up with your own. The point of voting is to pick YOUR favorite.

For all of you who have not taken the opportunity to vote yet for the
313T-Shirt you still have time. I wanted post a reminder in case some of
you missed yesterdays message. All you have to do is go to
www.313shirt.50megs.com
and check out the entries. There is a link at the bottom of the site for
voting. All you need to do is put the letter of your favorite design in the
subject box of the email. It's pretty simple. Again everyone on the list is
encouraged to vote.

Thanks to all those who did vote yesterday. We got a lot, and for those
counting it was interesting to follow the totals throughout the day.

Just a reminder that you will have till Sat. night at midnight est. to
vote.

T-Shirt Voting

2001-04-11 Thread d . pinter
Okay folks,

I've finally gotten all the technical glitches fixed(hopefully, so bear with
me) and you can now see the submissions for the 313 list t-shirt as well as
vote for your favorite design.

The link following is where the designs are located. To vote send a message to
the address on the bottom of the web page and enter the letter of your favorite
design in the SUBJECT line. No need to type a message...the subject will do
fine. It's up to you to narrow it down and vote only for you favorite. I will
dispense with any florida jokes at this point.

If anyone should encounter any problems with the site let me know and I'll do
my best to address those asap. I will be 'closing the poles' so to speak at
midnight est. on Saturday. So you've got four days to vote. As always, any
questions...just reply and I will try to help.

2001-04-06 Thread d . pinter
Hi everyone,

Next week will be the voting week for the 313 T-shirt design (yes, time is
racing by). I will be posting the link on Monday morning where you can view the
submission and vote.

I need an objective volunteer from the list though, who would like to help
count votes. It would be helpful if you get your mail through an isp (rather
than hotmail) and use outlook. I only request this because it will simplify the
process and ultimately make life easier.

Anyone interested should reply to me privately and give me the address I can
have emails forwarded to.

hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

*REPOST* T-SHIRT UPDATE

2001-03-21 Thread d . pinter
For those who may have missed this message during the weekend:

Hi everyone,

As promised, here is the latest news on the 313 T Shirt. I have worked to put a
time line together that includes 3 weeks for those who wish to submit new
designs or re submit previous ones from last year. There will then be a week
for online voting. At the end of the week the winning design will go into
production and be ready for DEMF on Memorial Day. The winner of the contest
will of course be awarded with a free shirt. I have worked out a deal where the
shirts will be sold at Record Time in Detroit. This will allow you to purchase
the shirts three ways: first you will be able to order online and have them
sent to you, second they will be available at the store for pick up before the
festival weekend(I would like them to get to the store as early as possible),
third they will be available for sale AT DEMF in the Record Time booth. The
shirts will be available in a range of sizes.

Here are the important dates to remember for those wanting to enter the contest.
Contest begins March 17th
Submissions are due by Friday April 6th at midnight
Voting will take place from Monday April 9th - Friday April 13th. The winner
will be announced on Monday April 16th

All the designs will posted on a web site. I'll post the link as we get to the
end of the submission phase. Everyone on the list is encouraged to vote as the
winning design will represent the list at the festival.

The contest is open for everyone on the list to enter. In order to do so, email
me privately and I will send you further details about submitting and a shirt
template. I ask that you do this so I can keep track of who has entered and I
will send out reminders as the closing dates approach(we're all procrastinators
at heart).

Hope this contest adds to the anticipation of DEMF 2001 and I hope to hear from
many of you regarding submitting.

T-shirt update

2001-03-06 Thread d . pinter
I have found the site with last years submissions, sorry I was not on the list
at the time that took place. Thanks to all those who forwarded information so
far. Some of the submissions from that first round are year specific, which
makes me think that maybe we should allow some time for those to be resubmitted
and new entries as well. I also think that the way those designs should be
presented should be anonymous. Maybe an A,B,C kind of thing. This makes it fair
for everyone who submitted( or makes it harder for list members for canvas for
votes) I'm also of the mind to keep it simple with shirts. 313 is not the
largest community out there and I'd like everyone who orders to be happy with
the final product. I'd like it to be an affordable thing and running two
sweatshirts here and three long sleeve shirts there will not be cheap. (I'm not
doing this for the money by the way)

T-shirts are pretty flexible and I think a good first step. Maybe 2002 will be
something else. I'd like to get a plan together as to how we make this a
reality and will post that this week. Anyone who has further information or
contacts that they would like to pass along should feel free.

thanks again to those who replyed so far

after the close of the submission process, i received
some late entries. tried to upload them and there were
problems ftp-ing them to the web site (premature end of file),
so i'll have to do what i usually do; keep saving the graphics
in slightly different formats until ftp no longer chokes on them.

unfortunately this coincided with the start of some other
projects which demanded my attention, and a few bouts of
illness. all this has killed the momentum for me, sorry.

i'll try to finish putting the entries on the site soon, and
then i'll be looking for someone who wants to count votes.
more on that later. mind you, this is an "open source"
project that anyone can take over from me at any time.

progress so far is that
* i have fixed the buggy entry #21.
* there are 3 remaining entries, double sided, that are not
up there yet. i have to fix one image that doesn't want
to upload properly!
* the "extra design" will stay unseen.
* there was also someone who sent me a design late, too large,
and without a valid e-mail address.

i'd like to finish this up soon and move along to a vote. 'i've been
very tired lately and had other projects that demand my attention.

don't worry, it won't be long.

Think about THIS.

take number 6 and put it on the front THEN take the back of 15 for the back
of the T.

They go REALLY well together IMHO.

just to add one thing, the above was not meant as any disrespect for your design
Lance, just liked the concept of "agent of 313" more than the design itself. it
was
better than anything i could have come up with :)

that's all.

is there anything against using 2 different designs? ie one persons front and
anothers back?because i think the back of 18 is great. as for the front there
are a number of good designs, but my favs are 15, 11, 14 and i also like the
concept of no 2 - "agent of 313" gives it a bit of a UR feel, not sure about the
design, but i like the idea of us all being agents for the one cause.

i think that's a great idea.

just my 2 cents

T-Shirt Discussion

2000-06-13 Thread Mephist
Now that all the designs are in I'd like to offer my comments to maybe spark
some discussion...

1, 6, (9, 10--my designs), 11, and 18 stand out to me, for these reasons:

1--I like the front and back, but I am concerned about how the 909 lettering
will turn out on a T-shirt because it is small. If we are dealing with a
quality company, however, I suppose that won't be a problem.

6--The idea behind the design is really cool, but I think it would work best
small in size, being included with another design, perhaps on the sleeve or
on the back on the neck.

9--This is my submission, it is the intersection of I-75 and I-94 as seen on
a map.
Though not recognizable for what it is (I wouldn't necessarily want to
include labels on the final) I think it is cool in that it marks the 313
location. Kind of a secret logo, . Plus roads are pathways for
communication as is the mailing list--too deep?

10--Also my submission. This design is simple, I nabbed the font I liked
from Echoskate and used another list member's suggestion about turning the
"3" backwards. Of course the "D" is for Detroit--is the "Tiger D"
copyrighted? Anyways, this design lends itself to easy applications on
shirts, mugs, mousepads, etc.

11--This would look nice on a shirt. Enough said.

18--Looks cool, but again I would be concerned about it's application on a
shirt--though that may not be a problem.

rest; luckily i just finished another larger
project, so i may actually get some rest.

I kinda dig 11-14. But really I'm surprised how good all of them are.

I liked the Joe Louis fist idea a lot. Here's a not-so-good picture of it:

Definitely for me too. Its kind of fitting that this first submission is for
the best design by far. So do we all get a vote on the final product? Will
there be more that one T-shirt in different colours to choose from?

What about 313 - International Division T-Shirt. We can have separate ones
incorporating the original design for UK, German, Australian, Dutch listers
etc...

twenty (20) t-shirt designs submitted!

2000-06-10 Thread Eric Iverson
i finally caught up with all the current submissions.
http://objektsynth.com/313/

from now on, will any designers interested in
submitting please stick to no larger than 300*300
pixels. i don't have time to make any more clickable
images or to resize them, and i'm running into enough
problems with images that won't upload properly.

AND please tell me what you want for your by-line
(e-mail address, name, both, none?)

BTW, since someone asked, i remind all that this is not
a profit making venture for me, and isn't meant to be
one for any other list member.
