Re: filter does not exist ... however it exist in the database ... how come?
Hi S I would try to avoid deleting entries directly in the data dictionary tables, and try other approaches to remove the phantom filter. Do you know the name of the phantom filter? Try creating a new filter and export it to a def file. Then edit the def file to rename it to the same name as your phantom filter. Then import in place to overwrite the phantom filter. Then, hopefully, you can delete the filter correctly through the admin tool. Re: Apache vs IIS
I think the answer all boils down to which operating system you're using. If it's Unix/Linux, go with Apache. If it's Windows, go with IIS. In my opinion IIS is easier to administer and it's rock solid. It just runs. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wesley Schwengle Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 7:17 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Apache vs IIS On 07.02.08 10:48 Frex Popo wrote: If you have to choose between IIS and Apache which one would you opt for? The great plus is that with using Apache is that you can change from a Unix to Windows (or vice versa) and keep your Apache configuration file. Some adjustments are needed due to different pathnames c:\path/to/dir vs /path/to/dir. And also modules which are loaded LoadModule mod_something.dll vs mod_something.so. Re: Apache vs IIS
So let me summarize: If you're an anti-Microsoft zealot, use Apache (or whatever the open source/competing product is) each and every time. But if you're not really concerned about all those politics, IIS is a fine choice for Windows operating systems. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of William H. Will Du Chene Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 8:07 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Apache vs IIS If I had my choice, I'd run with Apache - each and every single time. There are a number of reasons for that, not the least of which is that the web server itself has been time tested and beaten to death repeatedly on web servers all over the internet. It has seen the best and worst that can be offered by end users. It is the web server that can be thought of in the same category as a work truck. It's good, solid, and gets the job done. Configuration is also very simple. No. There isn't an 'explorer' to do the job with eye candy and mouse clicks. There is a configuration file, and a text editor. Really that is all that is needed. If you've got something in front of you that says otherwise, watch out. Someone is selling something again. Shake their hand, complain of a meeting, give them a boot in the wazoo and close the door. Apache is also cross platform, so your architecture has the ability to expand and change platforms if your situation changes at some point in the future. Likewise, there are enough modules and methods of customization for it which give it a significant amount of flexibility. Yes. You probably saw this one coming, but - if you want to - the source code is available for review and not locked away in someone's internal source server because it 'represents a source of IP,' or because 'they want to ensure a significant return on their investment for the shareholders.' (Jeez... Just typing that makes me feel the need for a shower.) Likewise, and this is probably my biggest single gripe against IIS, is that the bleep web server is *not* divorced from the operating system that it sits upon. Thus, there is no single installer or package available in which you can install something like IIS 6 or IIS 7 on top of an older operating system such as NT4. If you could, there would be one less reason to upgrade, right? In the same train of thought, paint my hair blond and call me silly but why, ohh, why should an operating system patch affect a web server so that it causes it to crash because both file system permissions have been changed and the internet guest account gets messed up? We had that happen with a couple of our intranet servers a couple of patch cycles ago. Positively crap-tastic. (Yes. I actually maintain several IIS servers for a living as part of my job - and I hate it.) An Apache/Tomcat combination is a beautiful thing. Why break them up and try to install something like Atlanta in there anyway? Apache is best suited to serve static content, such as images and regular files, html docs and the like. Tomcat is best for JSP. The connector that bridges them together is conceptually a work of art. All major implementations which I have been a part always use this combination. IIS and Atlanta are left to, well, smaller installations and I honestly sometimes consider them - ahem - toys. (When something goes wrong, I can be seen headed into the IIS server room with baby whipes, a warm bottle and a diaper, or a 40 mega-joule crash cart depending...) Similarly, running Tomcat withouth Apache in front of it just seems, well, wrong... but that is a whole other topic and I digress In the end, setting my obvious opinion aside for a moment, you may not have the choice in the end. Your environment will most likely dictate which platform to use, simply by the ability that is present to support it. If you have a few good *nix people running around, chances are you could make an Apache/Tomcat combination work just fine. Even if it is on a Windows platform, supporting the application is similar enough that the skillset can be used. By the same token, if the current terrain in which you find yourself is dominated by funny-lookin', primary colored flags on everything and people with a strange fixation on blue polo shirts and khackis, well, IIS Atlanta may be your only choice because the point-and-click crowd is 'in the house' (Hey, did I get the reference right that time?). Hello everyone, If you have to choose between IIS and Apache which one would you opt for? I mean in term of ease of administration, performance, security .. we are planning to install this in a clustered environment with load balancing software and would like to know if you had issues if any with running

The key is is the line that shows a core file being generated: RIKLoadApp /usr/ar/hostname/cmdb/en/workflow/adf_objectstore_1.xml BMC Atrium CMDB (core) 2147483647 I've found that if the LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes any directory that houses a different version of the remedy libraries (this includes the 7.1 libraries, as rik was built against 7.0.1p4 libs), the rik installer will core dump. Clear everything out of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH except the Oracle client library directory, then try the installation. The remedy installation scripts should really sanitize the environment to some degree if there is this level of incompatibility in rik and other utilities with newer versions of the Remedy api. Here are a couple of notes that might help you troubleshoot: 1. The rc: 90 errors are not a problem -- the script restarted the Remedy daemons and tries to log in once or twice per minute to see if the server is back up again. There will usually be a few rc: 90 errors before arserverd is ready. 2. The first RIKLoadApp command appears the be the primary problem. Try editing the installer script and change -C (which means no output to console) to -c (show output on console). Then run the installer again -- the console output might help diagnose the problem. 3. The second RIKLoadApp command might be failing because the first RIKLoadApp failed. But for those companies that have gone the path of your company and do not want to (or cannot) endure the pain should have an option too. 5.6 was the last of the legacy helpdesk lines before it shifted towards what it is today. All BMC needs to do is re-work the 5.6 Suite (full Helpdesk, Change Asset and SLA) WORKFLOW using the ARS 7.1 platform, thus bringing it up to speed on a supported version. Since it's the full version, I think it's ok for them to continue to require app licenses. Call it helpdesk something, give it a 7.1 rev and now you're back on the support matrix and your upgrade pain points are greatly reduced. Additionally, they could make a scaled down version of it, like the 5.6 Helpdesk w/Change Tasking and Asset Tracking (I keep calling it Lite) and let it run on plain ARS Fixed/Floating licenses. That becomes a good product for those smaller companies that don't need or can't afford the new ITSM Suite but still have a need for a solid product that is highly scalable and adaptable. We had a similar problem loading SRM 2.1 and support said it was a bug. The workaround was to modify the corresponding entry in SHARE:Application_Properties, that's what the installer checks. But I would be very cautious given that the versioning is quite specific. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kumar, Amita Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 5:10 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: IM installation error - Urgent help Please! Re: Apache vs IIS
If Tomcat is so easy to administer, how the @()[EMAIL PROTECTED] do you get the damn thing to do SSL. That's about six mouse clicks in IIS, including the entire process of obtaining and applying the certificate. Nothing in what passes for documentation in the tomcat space clearly describes how to request and apply the certificate and turn on SSL, specifically on Windows servers (Win2K3 Enterprise x64). They frame everything in *nix terms, and the only *nix I allow anywhere near me is well hidden underneath OS X. I have no problems with editing configuration files versus clicking control panel checkboxes (they usually write out to config files in the background anyway), but getting a certificate applied to Tomcat is apparently not something you can do by editing files. I have tested IIS/ServeltExec and IIS/Tomcat compared to Tomcat/Tomcat, and the mid-tier runs best and pre-fetches the most reliably on Tomcat/Tomcat. Prefetch of the ITSM 7 application kills ServletExec 2/3 of the time, before the prefetch completes. IIS/Tomcat is a shotgun wedding with an extra component in the middle to degrade performance, but if I can't get some information on tomcat SSL we may be forced to use IIS/Tomcat. None of our web server administrators apparently know anything about Tomcat web server, and it is not the same as the Apache web servers they use. Plus everything you need for BMC ITSM installation wants to install its own instance of Tomcat (mid-tier, RKM, Crystal Report Server XI, also Kinetic if you have it too), or fight over the primary instance (SLM Collector - which you are better off using with ServletExec AS). Then they all fight over the JVM. It isn't just a simple IIS or Apache (or Tomcat) question, but how many of them and where to install them to support all of the different apps for ITSM+ without having them all stomp on each other. Re: Company Dropping Remedy
On the ITIL compliant app bit, ITIL is a framework. We chose to implement various aspects of ITIL that are not addressed in the ITSM 7 apps, we also chose to address certain pieces of the framework differently via customizations to the 5.6 apps, which do not mesh so well with the implementation path chosen for the ITSM 7 apps. These are the pain points for our upgrade path. Axton Grams On Feb 7, 2008 10:28 AM, Timothy Powell [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: ** I wasn't necessarily stating that BMC/Remedy focus on small- and mid-sized customers to be its primary customer base. Rather, my point was, why turn your back on that market all together? A company shouldn't put all of its eggs in any basket, be it the small/mid or enterprise basket. And they shouldn't focus on a single solution for everybody's needs. One reason for BMC to continue supporting/developing smaller, more customizable apps than the current 7.x ITSM Suite? As many posters have stated, not everybody is ready for, nor wants a fully ITIL compliant package like 7.x just for sake of being ITIL compliant. Many customers have very solid business processes that their current 7.x application supports. Many of those same customers have realized the benefit of the awesome development package that ARS is and have built custom apps that they have integrated into the 7.x apps. They just need upgrades to the simpler (and customizable) applications they already have. Another reason to go back into that market is that not every company can afford the cost of a 7.x BMC application, but they have the need for something. One poster mentioned the old Rapid Results program. For $30k, the customer got 10 days of consulting services, a fully installed and configured Helpdesk product complete with Asset and Change Lite and a total of 8 fixed licenses. Once it was done, the company doesn't really need a developer on staff to do customizations, they just need an Application Administrator to manage the data. Quick, simple and affordable, both in initial startup costs and ongoing maintenance. And if they want to do some extra stuff, like build a custom HR app to integrate with it, they hire somebody (like the many find independent developers on this list) to help them do it and they're still ahead of the game. Those customers are still there, but Remedy is no longer servicing those needs. By focusing on ITIL and the 7.x ITSM Suite, BMC has excluded (intentionally?) smaller companies that can't afford it as well as those that don't actually need it and aren't going to change just for the sake of change. Why not develop and support two application lines? ITSM 7.x for the deep pocket companies that might really need it and can afford it and a Helpdesk Lite if you will, for the smaller and mature companies that just need a solid app that's fully customizable and affordable? BMC Remedy appears to be tracking to ITIL standards rather closely. If ITIL is the objective, then the strategy should lean toward fully developed applications with little room for customization (thus ensuring ITIL compliance). If your organization is not moving towards ITIL, then BMC Remedy's product strategy may indeed appear to be out of synch with your operational requirements. 2. The long-term Remedy sales people (so few are left!) probably remember the .com era, when every startup thought nothing of dropping $100K or more to install a Remedy system. Unfortunately, when the .com bubble burst, Remedy was left with hundreds of customers who could no longer pay their annual support fees. That hurt Remedy financially, but it also reduced Remedy's budget for future product enhancements. Could be Remedy learned a painful lesson, and no longer wants small- and mid-sized customers to be its primary customer base. 3. BMC Remedy may also be taking a lesson from IBM and their acquisition of Lotus Notes. When Notes first rolled out (more a document repository and collaboration tool, backed by an object database with a great search engine -- messaging was almost an afterthought) it was a unique toolkit that allowed creative developers to deploy dozens of applications. But Lotus (and later IBM) never offered any pre-built ready-to-use applications, and the Lotus Notes product began losing market share. While some may argue BMC Remedy doesn't adequately promote the ARS toolkit, others may argue it would be suicidal if BMC Remedy didn't aggressively market pre-built ready-to-use applications. 4. Personally, I don't understand why BMC Remedy doesn't market (directly or through a third-party partner) their products under a
Re: Company Dropping Remedy
Axton - I absolutely agree with you 100%! I have a separate client that I support with some 8 different custom apps, built way back on about the 2.x version. This client installed Help Desk 5.6 and it runs flawlessly on the same server as the custom apps (no integrations between the HPD and the custom apps). Now the problem I am having is that I can't even seem to upgrade this client to a 6.x version of Help Desk because the CMDB will not install. I can probably keep upgrading them at the ARS level with little or NO impact to the custom applications, but of course, the issue is what do we do with the 5.6 Help Desk that we cannot seem to upgrade. Now that I've got my hands a bit dirty on the 7.x stuff, I am tempted to recommend that they rebuild a Help Desk type solution from scratch and not even bother with the OOB stuff - they don't need that much and some of the functionality they have in the 5.6 HPD will be lost if we keep trying to upgrade them at the app level (like the simplified hook into the Asset form without the necessity of loading the entire AM app). I have also done some rather significant customizations for them on the HPD side, so those would need to be rebuilt or rethought. None of this is a concern with their custom apps. So for now I can't recommend that they move forward and they are starting to become concerned about loosing the ability to be supported. What a dilemma. :) Candace DeCou DOI Remedy Systems Analyst Verizon Business Office: (408) 371-1112 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Verizon Business - global capability, personal accountability. We've extended the applications exhaustively in certain areas, and we can't simply disband those processes and the functions on which different departments that have come to rely. To upgrade change, asset, and help desk is too much for one bite. I'm afraid we may be stuck with the 5.6 apps; the cost comparison, in terms of business disruption and licensing, of writing our own apps and disbanding the packaged apps is looking to be far less than performing a cliff upgrade, with another cliff upgrade in sight. To perform cliff upgrades (a.k.a., comparable to a replacement) disrupts our mission in several key ways: - we can no longer extend or adapt our apps to meet the business needs (a freeze is in order to move customizations to the new version) - the turnaround, considering the level of involvement from department heads, process owners, data owners, data warehousing, reporting, remedy development, integrations, ... is too long, and the end result is a frustrated user pool because the apps don't do what they used to do One of the things I've been pondering is the competitive advantage attained by having in-house applications. The business knows how to make money and do things to the level they need to (in terms if IT). To put a cookie-cutter application in place that drives cookie-cutter processes dilutes the value of the business. It adds unnecessary overhead (new processes we never needed and still don't), creates a diversion from what's important (how we run our business, what we know needs to be done), and generally is a waste of time and money and source of frustration. To use the new version of the applications is to completely abandon what makes ARS unique and successful. My final thought on this is that it's time to find some brains to develop a method by which the benefits of a purchased application and the benefits of customization can be merged into a product line that doesn't commit suicide every time a new release of the applications comes to fruition. Peter Lammey previously replied to this thread also as follows: From my understanding, if you add an approver add-hoc to a request you must add the requester at the Draft Status and the approver is added as a person who must sign for the approval as part of the Review phase which is actually when the Change is in the Request for Authorization status. So if I understand him correctly it would depend on the process flow of the change as to whether the person would be notified or not. I think I need to get in under the hood a bit more to understand how this is really working. I can tell you that many of our users are now starting to complain about being overwhelmed with notifications and I think it's a shame that you cannot easily modify any of the System defined notifications. I mean in term of ease of administration, performance, security .. we are planning to install this in a clustered environment with load balancing software and would like to know if you had issues if any with running Mid-Tier against IIS or Apache? Re: Company Dropping Remedy
One of the things I've been pondering is the competitive advantage attained by having in-house applications. Extremely well put. I'm still surprised more people aren't saying this. ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: www.rmsportal.com ARSlist: Where the Answers Are

Re: no clear installation of cmdb (2.1p1) on solaris
Marc: I've been fighting some Remedy installation errors on unix myself lately. Re: Apache vs IIS
I never said easy to administer. What I did say was simple to configure. Obviously, there is some room for interpretation there. ...how the @()[EMAIL PROTECTED] do you get the damn thing to do SSL.. Fair question. It deserves a fair answer. Here is a tutorial that took me all of about 20 minutes to put together. Tomcat + SSL Tutorial *Tomcat Install* 1. Download the installer from http://tomcat.apache.org. 2. Run the installer. 3. Agree to the license. 4. Choose your options. 5. Select an installation directory. 6. Select a connector port, username and password. (Add a password, accept default port.) 7. Select path to the correct JRE. 8. Press the install button. 9. Leave the Run Apache Tomcat option selected. 10. Press the finish button. 11. The service will start once the installer is closed. 12. Download the administration interface package. *SSL Keys* 1. Download and install the Java SDK - not the JRE. 2. Add the JDK /bin path to your path. (set PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\bin;%PATH) 3. Issue the command keytool -genkey -alias kameno -keypass password -keystore kameno.bin -storepass password 4. Answer the following questions, or accept the defaults: What is your first and last name? [Unknown]: What is the name of your organizational unit? [Unknown]: What is the name of your organization? [Unknown]: What is the name of your City or Locality? [Unknown]: What is the name of your State or Province? [Unknown]: What is the two-letter country code for this unit? [Unknown]: Is CN=Unknown, OU=Unknown, O=Unknown, L=Unknown, ST=Unknown, C=Unknown correct? [no]: yes 5. Copy the kameno.bin file that was created and place it into the tomcat/webapps directory. 6. Open server.xml (tomcat/conf directory) in an editor. 7. Search for the connector description that sits on port 8443. It should be commented out. 8. Uncomment it by removing the !-- and the -- which preceed and follow it. 9. Add the following lines to the description: keystoreFile=/webapps/kameno.bin keystorePass=password 10. Save the file and close it. 11. Stop Tomcat Restart it. 12. Verify connectivity by pointing your web browser at https://localhost:8443. /Tomcat + SSL Tutorial That was easy, yes? ...Plus everything you need for BMC ITSM installation wants to install its own instance of Tomcat... ...Then they all fight over the JVM... Well, there I am not sure that I can help you. BMC has not gotten around to offering a - to borrow your term - @#*@#*# - developer-only version of their products yet, so trying to provide any practical assistance is out of the question. Not being able to play with the technology and learn from it without working for someone that already has it - bites. My gut instinct, however, says that there has to be a way to make it work. Re: Company Dropping Remedy
Agreed, it's a framework. As you previously stated, you have many of your internal business procedures bound to the 5.6 applications and the customizations that have been introduced over the lifetime of the product. We've extended the applications exhaustively in certain areas, and we can't simply disband those processes and the functions on which different departments that have come to rely. But you're off the support matrix and if you don't upgrade, you can't get official support for any issues you might have. You continue to pay maintenance on a product that BMC won't help you maintain. Forcing you to upgrade to something that you don't want and/or can't use without major disruption and a complete overhaul of your established business processes in order to stay in the support matrix is bad business (IMHO). What happens? 1) Like the original poster, the company determines that the upgrade is just as painful as going to a completely new product. So they re-evaluate and decide to dump Remedy for a competitor. 2) They decide to stay with what they have and live with an unsupported application. 3) They endure the pain and upgrade anyway, complaining the entire time. I think that the ITSM Suite 7.x is great for those companies that WANT to make the jump from the 5.6 line and are willing to endure the pain points you describe. It is also good form those companies that are looking for a new application with a defined ITIL framework already constructed for them. I have a customer on the west coast in just that position. They are an big company, but they've been doing support in 3 separate business units using 3 separate homegrown apps. They want to merge their support units and unite under a single application that had an ITIL framework. ITSM 7.x is great for them and they are happy to change in order to use it. Everybody is covered now. Is it really much more complicated than that or am I missing the big picture? For $30k, the customer got 10 days of consulting services, a fully installed and configured Helpdesk product complete with

JAG, (just a guess) Maybe I am way off base but, seems to me.. hostname is not defined. unless you modified all the data above for the reference hostname. Don't know exactly your solution.. But Better stick to the manual close. I would say there is either some option for the hostname or your hostname on your box is not there. Re: Apache vs IIS
If I had my choice, I'd run with Apache - each and every single time. I mean in term of ease of administration, performance, security .. we are planning to install this in a clustered environment with load balancing software and would like to know if you had issues if any with running Mid-Tier against IIS or Apache? Re: Company Dropping Remedy
I have been customizing and developing on OOB applications since the first Help Desk application. I find it very challenging and rewarding. I think working on fully customized applications is much easier and lots of fun. I am very thankfull for the opportunities that BMC Remedy has created for us to remain employed. I have migrated from version 4 to through version 7. ITSM 7 is a beast but managable. I have implemented 7 several times now and not once was it implemented without customizations. I have migrated fully customized OOB suites several times with customizations intact. I know there are several others out there who have done the same. Thank God that not all businesses have the same exact needs or they wouldn't need us. BMC Remedy offers courses on customizing the OOB modules for version 7. There are some customizations they don't recommend but I have never heard that you should not customize the application. I have worked with BMC Remedy Professional Services consultants who customized the application very heavily. So where did the idea come from that you should not customize the application? Don Simmons Date: Wed, 6 Feb 2008 22:56:23 -0800From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Re: Company Dropping RemedyTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Some additional points we may want to consider: 1. 4. Personally, I don't understand why BMC Remedy doesn't market (directly or through a third-party partner) their products under a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. Seems like a win-win situation for BMC Remedy and their customers -- the customer needs a little training and then BAM! they are off and running, while BMC Remedy collects a nice monthly fee for every user connection. This would also make it simple for BMC Remedy to showcase new products. And imagine, never going through another upgrade! Re: Regarding Task in ITSM 7.0 Change Management
The new 7.0 Tasks when tied to a Change ticket is much more strict than it was in ITSM 5.6. We ran into the same difficulties but the reason for this error is likely due to the fact that the task in question is sequenced after another task. The Task system seems to require that with multiple tasks associated to a Change, they may have different sequence numbers. The system will not let you move a task that is say Sequence 2 to Status Assigned until you have either cancelled or closed a task that is say Sequence 1. The error is confusing of course since it should say something like This task (or group) must be activated after you have Closed or Cancelled all tasks with a higher sequence. Re: Company Dropping Remedy
I wasn't necessarily stating that BMC/Remedy focus on small- and mid-sized customers to be its primary customer base. Re: Apache vs IIS
I am finally getting back to this issue. Following your instructions gets a generic certificate on the server so that it will do SSL, but you get a certificate error every time you access the page. I have never gotten even close to that using the fragmented bits of information on http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/ssl-howto.html - but that may be because I have been trying to use a commercial certificate instead of generating a generic one. Thanks for your help with a much clearer set of step-by-step instructions (sequential; the tomcat docs are more random access). I already have a GeoTrust certificate for this server, installed on IIS months ago, so theoretically I should be able to apply it to the Tomcat server. I can't get another from them for the same FQDN, anyway, unless it has to be converted to some other format which I doubt. I followed the instructions on GeoTrust web on how to export the certificate from IIS and convert it for apache, which yielded two files key.pem and cert.pem. Of course that does not fit into Tomcat, only Apache. Next I followed their instructions (in a completely different part of their web site) for Tomcat which involve downloading a root cert and an intermediate cert and creating a keystore with those plus the purchased SSL cert. When I install that file the Tomcat server generates a bazillion copies of this error in the catalina log: SEVERE: Endpoint [SSL: ServerSocket[addr=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,port=0,localport=8443]] ignored exception: java.net.SocketException: SSL handshake errorjavax.net.ssl.SSLException: No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled. java.net.SocketException: SSL handshake errorjavax.net.ssl.SSLException: No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled. at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.jsse.JSSESocketFactory.acceptSocket(JSSESocke tFactory.java:113) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.PoolTcpEndpoint.acceptSocket(PoolTcpEndpoint. java:407) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.LeaderFollowerWorkerThread.runIt(LeaderFollow erWorkerThread.java:70) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool .java:684) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595) Feb 7, 2008 7:24:36 PM org.apache.tomcat.util.net.PoolTcpEndpoint acceptSocket WARNING: Reinitializing ServerSocket I guess I will have to contact the certificate source directly and find out what they forgot to include in the instructions on the web site. I just checked over the page and realized that the commands listed there are for *nox boxes. If you need a hand converting them into a windows version, shoot me an email and I can lend a hand. Likwise, there is a version of openssl for windows available from http://www.devhood.com/Tools/tool_details.aspx?tool_id=277. Re: Newbie: form with links to frequently accessed forms
this would be ugly...but you could create a display only form, call it a control panel, with maybe a drop down that had options of 'Submit', and 'Search' then a set of 5 buttons that would have open actions to the various forms in the mode specified in the drop down...or better yet...a drop down to choose which form you want, and a drop down for which mode you want it in, then a single button that uses advanced workflow to open the form in the mode you want...it wouldn't be exceedingly pretty...but it would certainly work. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ravi Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 8:22 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Newbie: form with links to frequently accessed forms Hi: I typically access about 5 forms as a user from the remedy client. Re: Apache vs IIS
Yes, I need to continue using commercial certificates if at all possible - we've had them on the 5.1.2 and 6.3 mid-tiers since 2003, when we started using AREA authentication with enterprise passwords. We use OpenSSL and sTunnel on the back end to LDAP, although the 7.x servers finally use internal certificates properly so they are set to SSL in the AREA configuration. I put OpenSSL on the web server today while trying to generate the keystore - maybe that's the cipher suite the GeoTrust certificate did not like. Re: filter does not exist ... however it exist in the database ... how come?
Hi All, I had experienced the same problem. Suppose that the duplicate filter is named 'Filter A' and we have a def backup for 'Filter A' I managed to get solve this problem by deleting 'Filter A' from the 'filter' table and its mapping from 'filter_mapping' table. After I managed to delete 'Filter A' using the Admin tool 'Filter A' was imported from DEF file.
