Hi,@SLJ thanks. I am officially a failure at date calculation. In any case, the 11th of April I guess lol.About the story, I initially planned for a big story, more like a little movie which I could integrate into the game interactively, using the system we got set up now along with non-side scrolling levels. After that, though, the idea of a weekly/monthly campaign episode sems very interesting and worth a try. After the main story is in, we could do that. There is a hotkey which copies what Voiceover is saying into a wave file I think to the desctop. I'm not sure on what this hotkey is, but I can check that when I come home if you're interested. I think it's something like: VO cmd shift c or something like that. VO shift c copies the last spoken sentense to the clipboard in text which is really useful, and an other simular command records the last spoken text into a wave file and place it onto the desctop. This issue also occures on the PC, some media applications working in the background do have a way too low volume. This is very strange. @TheMadViolinist, good point about my post a few pages back where I talked about being vulnerable during resets. I forgot that, although you can use /reset anywhere, you can only asign points in the safe zone.Going back to the page or so where we talked about balancing out weapons, how about if all the weapon skills improve your ability by twice what they currently do? It's just like how the hunting rifles now do 6% or 10% more damage per skill point. If all weapons did this amount instead, you'd spend less points on them so could spread your points out as you see fit. You'd then get to benefit from all the fun guns in the game which just don't get a look in any more. As an example, Shadowrunner is my main character and he's level 403 now. He's got 115 points in AK47. At 110 points he was still taking a couple of swings with a bayonet to kill the bigger zombies. Apart from 25 points in Vulcan, that's the only weapon skills I have raised. I
  could swap out Sneak and Speed. I could remove some of the 25 points I have in Health. I can't lower my armour (currently 145 points in medium with 4 medium armour pieces equipped) because I take too much damage and it's easy to die getting swarmed in high crate missions. If I only needed to put half the 115 points in AK47 to be at the same level of damage with it, I could then put like 50 points in M1928 or M4A1, for example. This would give me a choice of powerful weapons to play with. Even if I just put 30 points in AA12, that would still raise the damage 300% by my new system so I'd at least not need quite so many shots to give the undead a bad day. This would be quicker than fiddling with all kinds of code and stuff and would benefit all players. Low level players could feel amazing about the new exciting weapon they've found when they put 10 points in it and it utterly owns map 1. High level players can have a reason to loot for weapons again and use their
  favourites rather than the only ones which seem viable to keep you alive.On levels for trading items, how about level 50 as the limit? That's the level you can access all maps so you can at least then go and get any of the items you ask for. I quite agree that it shouldn't be available for lower players because, however long it takes to get to the trading limit level, at least you know you've earned it. Also, if you go on a couple of missions, it doesn't take that long to level. If you ask in the game, most people would be happy to run you a low level mission to get you started. I know that I certainly will if I have the time.Please don't limit the number of trades per day! There is loads of trading chatter now because it's a new and exciting feature. Well with regards to talking to people and taking the initiative in conversations, that's definitely something I should do more, the problem is that most places I am during the day are pretty crowded when I'm there, with a lot of loud noise and people running around. Often it's hard to tell if a certain person is even in a room, let alone where they are and if they're already talking to someone else. I do know a lot of names, some of them of people I might get along with, so I suppose that could come in handy, it takes long enough just trying to figure out who all is in one class; I'm not going to, ask for a list of all the students or something. Whenever I'm around a lot of people, I constantly feel as if every eye is on me, and anything weird or embarrassing I do will be seen by all, and even if noone says anything (noone ever does) that every mistake or abnormal thing is being silently remembered and affecting my reputation. I know intellectually t
 hat this is a very common fear for socially awkward people, and that in reality it's likely no one could care less, but still, it's there. It's especially common when I'm eating, or performing some action that requires some amount of grace, example taking a chair completely off a table and putting it down. One day I was in first period and a girl across from me (I believe we were the only two in the room), came over and offered to put my chair down for me, to which I said no; were I a less friendly person or in a bad mood I would've made some sarcastic comment about how apparently being blind means you're incapable of picking things up, but despite everything I do appreciate it when people genuinely want to help. Well, I pick it up, go to put it down and bong, my braillenote, which is around my neck, gets in the way (of course, of course it does), and when I push it aside with one hand and put the chair down, the leg goes in the radius of the strap, so 
 after making an abortive attempt to stand back up, have to pick the chair up again and pull it out. After all that my face was extremely flushed with embarrassment, though thankfully she did not say anything. Like I said, I realize it's an old line, but that fear can be crippling. Also, my social experiences in life have not been that great. I have a diagnosis of aspergers, which is a form of high-functioning autism. Whether that's accurate is up for debate, since my parents wanted something, so I said pretty muchn the minimum needed to get the psychiatrist off my back, or whether it even matters, but that's beside the point. I do have many of the symptoms, one of which is social naivety. When I was younger I was very talkative, almost exactly opposite of the way I am now, but would almost exclusively ask questions, and wasn't great at back-and-forth conversations. When I was 3 or so I'd even tell kids my own age to say certain things, then play another role
  when they did, because noone ever seemed to want to play along with me. When I was a bit older I'd talk to people and consider them friends, when looking back I now know a lot of them either simply tolerated or outright couldn't stand me. This of course either despite or exaserbated by my blindness. Obviously, this led to quite a few situations in which I was or could've been taken advantage of. All that is behind me now, and I don't have a problem interacting with people once we've made contact and actually found something to talk about, but the experiences are still there, so I'm probably overly cautious in a lot of situations. One thing I worry about is being labeled a creeper or something similar, by for example looking up and friending people on facebook, asking too many curious questions etc. A lot of people from school I've requested don't respond, and as I mentioned earlier there was one person who deleted me after we'd talked so
 me and seemed to be getting along, and another blocked me for simply requesting them. A lot of these were pretty popular people, with upwards of 800 friends, and some of them friends with my sister who is very social, so they obviously know who I am. Maybe I'd making too much of it, but it is pretty discouraging, I'm guessing some of it is that some people either don't know what to make of me, or think I've got some other problem besides blindness. Sometimes I wonder if it's even worth trying to make friends here; so much of the interaction and so-called close friendships I see are based on superficial things, and that seems to be the norm. Also of course there's the advantage of not getting involved in teenage drama, which, even with only 3 friends at my state school, and the fact I was pretty secluded and didn't interact much with too many people, I somehow kept finding myself getting involved in, or at least hearing about. Hello there,Since exactly one week ago I've been using a windows 7 ultimate virtual machine on my mac for mainstream gaming. This all started because I found out about skullgirls thanks to a few members of this forum who kept streaming it to demonstrate it to me, and it ended up with me going mad and trying to set it up in any way possible. Of course, on my netbook, it didn't work. Of course, bootcamp messed up my startup disk and I had to reset it from the internet recovery which is a pain in the butt. So, I ended up going the only way left: virtual machines.Thanks to Brian Smart's post about low latency sound for vm ware, I was able to decrease the audio latency on my little windows 7 ultimate vm to a barely noticeable amount (after a few adjustments I've made myself I can't notice it) to the point where it became possible for me to play any game on it. I ended up installing steam, and somehow convincing my parents to get me skullgirls, which
  ended up being quite a success, in contrast to all my attempts of making something harder than openning a folder in win explorer, which end up failing epicly. Anyways, on to the subject of this thread. I've been wanting to stream or at least record mainstream game play for a while now. Team Fortress 2, skullgirls itself, just anything I come across that might make me want to record it. The problem is, I have nothing to record it with. I could probably try sound tap on my vm, or audacity, but that's only audio, and even though if anybody could help me set that up I'd appreciate  it, I'd lack the video for those ocasions when I need to record it for someone sighted. For example right now I'm trying to expand skullgirls throughout my class, but the youtube playthroughs just aren'g enough for some stuff. Now, I've tried screenflow too, but the newest version doesn't seem to be accessible. The three buttons which I supposed would be something

Wanderer and others.I can relate all too well. I think many things might be teen sympthoms combined with the fact you're blind. As a teenager, you're looking for confirmation, and if you can't find it in people around you, you might do like me, become desperate and start playing games like a freak, keep going on and on how awesome you are and finding less good people to put down even more. It is a hell, and yeah I can definitely relate to the "stupid blind kid getting a crush" thing, so fucking much.A lot of the times, I'm down, and unmotivated of what to do. I can just sit around, doing nothing. At randoms, I can get moments of joy, but it can easily be turned back to sadness again.I view myself as a  dark, sour and boring person, especially boring. At the start of this school year, I had a new start, and I was planning to make
  friends like hell. But I am just boring, what will I say or do? I'll hang around with a few, but where to go next? And the same goes for girls. I can not give that perfect eye contact smile, or anything else like that.There was a pretty nice party a few weeks ago, which I, to my surprise, was invited to. But I didn't go, because, what the hell do you do at a party? I say keep trading the way it is, if people want to beg for everything and receive it, they only hurt themselves, their decision.  One small bug, it seems that when you set a new favorite weapon during a log in session, it does not save.  So If I had the AK as my favorite weapon and then found long bow and set that as my favorite weapon, when I log out and in again the AK is still my favorite weapon.  I feel we should be allowed to reset during defenders maybe only once, as it stands I cannot get past wave 11 because it takes so few hits to kill me and weapons do so little damage.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171448#p171448

Bee, I am still working to solve the bug with international player names.  I believe I know how to fix it now, but it will take me some time because I have to change a lot of code.For those who have heard me refer to this bug but don't know what it is, let me explain.  When a person creates a new name which contains non-english characters, there is a mix up in how it gets stored.  Every non english character will become scrambled garbage.  In some cases the person cannot even delete the scrambled name from their character list.I'm taking these suggestions about trading and weapon skills into consideration.  I may make some adjustments to them in upcoming patches, but I haven't quite decided on it yet.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171456#p171456

SLJ, that's the setting I have. VoiceOver reports that I am using item 4 in the table, called "auto detect". The text after the table says "The virtual machine appears as an additional computer on the same physical network connection as your Mac." Per Saul's suggestion, I also set the network adapter to "bridge" rather than "NAT". I can't find anyone on Google who has this particular problem. I agree that low-level players should work for, and therefore learn from working for, their gear. But level 80 seems very high, especially during missions. I can get to level 80 relatively easily now, but it takes a long time, and I can only go as fast as I can because I've gotten two characters to level 125 or so already. There is nothing being taken from new players. Nothing about their playing styles has been forcefully altered since this release. Truly, the trade system has given them another goal to aim for. I honestly don't know of any new players who don't have the ability to continue leveling as of right now. Trading isn't a required part of the game. We have played swamp without it since it's conception that dark October night, and it is fully possible to play without it if there are those who can not reach the level requirement. It is like gaining skill points. would you rather have all the points you would ever want be given to you? Or would you rather have earned every single one of them. It is a privlige to be able to trade at level 80. This is an SOS call on behalf of the Strip Mall mission! Nobody runs them any more since the new zombie AI makes them rather tough for the XP and rep gain. Does anyone have an idea for making them worthwhile again? I used to really enjoy Strip Mall missions but I honestly don't think more than half a dozen or so have been done since 3.0 came out, except for maybe a few in 3.2 now that the torn dress is available again with the removal of the equipment loss bug from LMS missions. My idea would be if they gave 1 player a random reward, maybe running shoes or bunny slippers from the shoestore, if you completed them? Maybe make them unusually high in rep or XP as a reward? Maybe alter the map or zombie AI a little so that the shoe or candy stores aren't pure suicide runs?Also, adding to my post about 7 or 8 posts ago about increasing the effectiveness of weapon skills so that your points go further, I would add that I think weapon skill groups should increase all with
 in that category by 3% rather than 1. If the individual skills increase to between 6% and 10%, 3% for the group makes it a slightly more interesting prospect without it invalidating individual weapon skill increases. I also don't think that the hunting rifles should be increased again under my new proposal. They already had this increase implemented and are more attractive. Their selling point should remain the rep and XP boost.All in all I don't think my skill point idea will unbalance the game unduly since you can only use one weapon at a time and, once a weapon kills a zombie with one shot there's no point increasing it further anyway. Letting people use more weapons with equal effectiveness will encourage them to find and/or trade the other weapons and develop more individual characters and play styles. Hi,Something you don't seem to realize is that the quests are just as random as the rest of the events.  The stories themselves don't change, but the choices you make won't always have the same outcome. Think of it as a dice roll. your leaders skills are being tested, and sometimes the test fails. it's even possible to pick options that aren't quite how the story is supposed to go, and still succeed. The only time a quest is definitely lost is if you are lost in the realm of the gods, which should only happen if you have completely gone off the rails. In the particular quest your talking about, if you are hurt too badly by the biting things, you might walk right past the camp and never notice it. You would then be lost. That doesn't mean that the quest is permanently incomplete, however. You might have better luck with the next quester. I will say though that that particular quest is the hardest of the lot, because the followers of the cow

I do agree that the trading system is an extra feature. New players need this less than high level players since the zombies wont hit them as hard as they hit players above level 80. And as said before, it can be a kind of goal to be reached. One may want to reach level 80 for being able to trade, since the highest map is level 60. I think we wont have new maps, zombies or weapons for a long time now. Well I can't say anything about agencies in the Us, but on the instructional point as a general rule,  I've generally found myself the more flexible an instructor is to teaching something and the less they are bound by automatically applying one technique or standard and are prepared to work with students individual strengths and  ways of learning, the better they are. I'm 13 and I go to a perfectly normal school. and I Need to say, I'm not the social type my self, and nither are the others in my class. the other Boys I would like to hang out with are constantly talking about sighted games or just playing minecraft in breaks. there's this Girl called michelle in my class, sometimes we talk. but she has her friend sitting next to her, and we have sort of a grudge between each other, and she doesn't really like me talking to michelle that much. there are a lot of things that my classmates resent me for, for example my teacher giving us all a test in history because I! didn't get something done in time. also there are a lot of embarresing things about me that somehow the hole class has found out, and of corse that decreesed my chances of finding someone to activly socialise with without someone sitting next to you thinking you're in love with her. I personally think it should be open to all, and people have to learn not to abuse the system, if they do then they won't get invited to do mitions or shared items. There's just enough software out there requiring Win7 minimum that Vista isn't an option in spite of the attractive old look. Also, Micros~1 have intentionally deprecated Vista in favour of Win7 for core components like IE and .net.People forget that XP was crap initially, too. The difference is that Microsoft were stupid enough to make the service pack available for free, even to the point of mailing out free service pack CDs (remember those?), instead of fleecing its customers for an "Upgrade" that was basically the same crap with a new coat of paint and a bunch of compulsory UI changes that everyone hated.I know my next stop is Win7. But I also know that until I have a real need, I won't be moving. Nothing changes the fact that it's crap. And some will figure out a way to exploit it.The best scenario I feel would be that a player cannot be given anything they cannot get themselves. So if you are level 5 you cannot be given anything that cannot be found beyond map 1. Logistically programming wise this is probably not doable.So. How about levels 1 thru 20, 21 to 50, and above 50.The people under level 20 need to work for what they get. They don't need to be spoon fed everything or they will not know what to do. They need to make mistakes so they can learn from them. No need to hear a level 3 player complaining they got on plate armor, metal shin pads, football shoulder pads and cannot figure out why with no points in speed they run so slow. just because some one gave them those items.the true thought behind giving someone something was just inn case in a mission they run out 
 of ammo or med kits they can get some. The idea now  is not to spoon feed the lower people and give them something they cannot either find nor have any idea on how to use properly. The true reward is to find it yourself when your ready. Not to have a level 100 player go  out there and get everything for a level 3 newbie player and give it all to that person. They may look like Rambo but will have the playing skills of dumbo.Levels 21 to 50. Those players have a fairly good idea of what is going on, but may not have enough rep to purchase everything. or difficulty navigating the new maps to find what they want. So a little help there is not a bad thing.Those over level 50, self explanatory. Know the maps well. Probably have lots of rep. But just can't seem to find that one elusive item they want. I like the split, though I think it should be made  down to level 20. People who are at level 20 already have a good idea of the game and know how to loot and do missions. We shouldn't have any unwanted truck sitters with the kick command so that's good. I think whatever the min level to get to sub 2 is should be the level split. So far the trade between players has been mutual, I haven't seen much random giving or too much begging. It's more like I'll trade you an AK for some fuel, or I'll trade my flamethrower for a marlin and a long bow or something. It's rarely just handing things out unless it's between good friends. Chris, I am pretty sure Microsoft won't relent on the Metro look and feel no matter how much you and others whish they might reject it in favor of a classic Windows look and feel. While I would certainly prefer the classic user interface myself I know that is not going to happen, and have chosen to just accept the new user interface and learn to deal with it on its own terms. I don't see how dragging my feet and refusing to change will help me when I have to deal with the new user interface at some point either on a job site, a new computer, or just need to know it as a developer. So for me at least refusing to change just doesn't seem practical given that the new look and feel is probably here to stay.As for XP being the best operating system Microsoft ever developed that is in the eyes of the beholder and subject to personal opinion. As Sebby pointed out many people forget XP was absolutely crap when it first came out in 2001. I remember people around colle
 ge and on tech lists swearing up and down and sideways they would never upgrade to it, XP won't last, and now those are the same people who can not or will not let go of it now. In their opinion Microsoft killed the golden goose when they killed XP. My point being is that there are always people who hate change, who will go kicking and screaming to the next operating system, and when they finally accept it they can't let go of it because they found out they liked it after all.From my personal perspective Windows 7 is really the best Microsoft has created. It is more stable and more secure than XP, it has a lot of nice components like .NET 4.0, XAudio2, SAPI 5.4, I like the new Start Menu, I like features like pinning programs to the taskbar, etc which XP does not have. I have no problems messing around with new tech, trying it out, and when I have the funds always put some aside for upgrades and to buy updates if and when I can afford them. Therefore I am likely to be the first to jump in and buy a new Windows upgrade or a new computer before the majority of the blind community does. In Some cases as in XP to Vista the transition wasn't worth the time or the money invested in it. In other cases goin

I disagree that level restrictions should be changed when it comes to trading. I really don't get people. We got this whole trading system like 3 days ago. So why is it that now everyone wants it? If you dealt without it before, why can't you just deal with what you have now and use trading as an insentive to level? Why is it people want everything unlocked immediately? Really guys it isn't that hard to level up to 80. There are people that started playing this game when accounts went live and they're already like level 15, and the ones I observe haven't done any missions! Aprone, if you make it level 50 to trade, then level 40s will complain and if you make it 40, some level 5 will start complaining he can't trade his 9mm ammo with his friends. Honestly people this isn't such a big deal,  you can't trade till level 80, so what? Just level. If people spent more time leveling than they do complaining they'd probably be level 80 by n
 ow . I do think that one-way trading should be available to low levels. in other words, they can hand their items to gamers above 80, but they can't receive anything in return. Reason being, sometimes low levels get fuel, guns, and other items they probably don't wish to, or can't use, so they should have the option to give it to others that'll benefit from them. I wanna mention though that I'm totally enjoying this trading system. You can do all sorts of nifty things with something like this, there's even an economy of sorts sprouting from all this hahahaha. you have people negociating transactions and all sorts of fun things lol. then there are people that enjoy particular items, like aks for instance, that wish to have tons of the things as backup or just to collect. so they trade their items for AKs. I even auctioned off several items last night

Suggestion: categories in the inventory… please. Now that most of us are accessing our inventories more and trying to find specific items, we're seeing just how big these lists can get. It would really help to have an inventory menu with five items: weapons, ammo, accessories, armor, special items. Then you could very easily locate items without scrolling through dozens of entries.Alternatively, or in addition, can we have a way to just type an item's name instead of selecting it from a list?Finally, an idea for the armor menu. Can it have a couple items at the very bottom? One would be a repeat of the average protection message you get with X. Hi Everyone.This is terrible! I can't remember the last time I cried so much. How could Kc do this! First datu dies and now lizzy. I hate ink so much. He causes so much pain and suffering. I hope at the end of the series all the characters get together and beat him to death.As for the zombie children the thought of that is sickening. But it sure does explain the little ones. I wonder if the women ink used were already pregnant or if he got them pregnant in some strange and disgusting way. I didn't mind that Datu died so much because I was expecting it but why lizzy? So, one bug I think might have been overlooked: only zombie sounds play when a scope is on. It used to be that you could scan for loot or crates with a scope, which really helped. Then, I think in 2.8, the functionality broke and it hasn't come back. Are there plans to try to fix this, or is it intentional? It isn't a huge deal, but with all the new features and debates over changes, I thought I'd add a reminder in there about this longstanding issue. I'm with Shermanator and Musicman on trading levels. I particularly like Shermanator's "look like Rambo but play like Dumbo" quote. Nobody is saying that low level players won't get help from the higher ones by going out and healing them or running lower missions than we might normally do (especially now that fuel is so much easier to find or trade). I had help like that and I've passed on that good deed, and will continue to do so. I think that all the games I've seen where you can just trade everything, like in some of the MUDs I play, you end up bumbling around places you're not ready to be in because yo don't understand the game. All the shiny armour and weapons in the game won't keep you alive if you get cornered by a swarm in the sewers. You can't then blame the guy you traded with for that. You will die a lot as a new player; most people did. You will gain and lose equipment of all kinds dozens, maybe hundreds, of times
  over. We all went through that and have all learned that you can't get too attached to anything. Looting is what taught me the maps, taught me to aim and taught me to handle swarms. Trading will not teach you that, whatever you might think. It is also perfectly valid to say that at least trading is then a reason to level.
