 HI all 

I am facing a problem while deleting the transactions  in my system by using
the sysdatabasedeletetrans. The system was in process for a long time and
then I got the error Cannot select record in signature
log(SIGSignaturelog)Audit log reference0.SQL has issued an error I am also
unable to find out the table sigsignaturelog. 

 

Kindly do suggest. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Unit cost price 855.00 can be wrong as the transaction cannot be fully
settled.

Hi everyone 

 I am facing a problem I am processing the return PO the scenario is 

The PO has ordered quantity 5 I generate the Packing slip and its status is
Received then I generate the invoice but the system is still showing its
status as Received. Also the strange thing is when I generate the invoice
again then it again allow me to create the invoice of 5 items. If I click on
the Quantity tab in the lines there it shows me invoice remaining still 5
and invoiced 10. This is so strange. 

Any help would be highly appreciated

Later they found that the value to be paid to vendor is
 9600 Dhs

 

Is there any way to do the adjustment which have financial
impact as well as inventory costing impact.

 

N.B.: In returned order, the quantity should be given,
moreover in Credit note also, the quantity should be given

Using Invoice Journal, it will have financial impact
only,not affecting the inventory costing…

I need a solution to tackle the cost price updation while
issuing the materials. The scenario is explained below.

 

Setup:

 

Inventory Model Group : Weighted Average Post Physical
Inventory : Checked Post Financial Inventory : Checked Financial Negative
Inventory : Checked Include physical value : Checked

 

In Inventory Dimension Group:

Configuration : Mandatory

Site: Mandatory ,Primary stocking , Physical inventory,
Financial inventory are checked

Warehouse: Mandatory ,Primary stocking , Physical
inventory, Financial inventory are checked Bin Location : Primary stocking ,
Physical inventory, Financial inventory are checked

 

In Item Master:

Latest Purchase Price  latest cost price : Checked
Use combination cost price : Checked

 

Sceanrio :

 

Item 1(Item type : Service) has 2 configurations say C1
and C2

 

PO1:

Item 1 for 20 items with configuration C1 @ 12 Dhs =
Total (20*12) 240 Dhs

 

PO2

Item 1 for 15 items with configuration C2 @ 15 Dhs =
Total (15*15) 225 Dhs

 

Issue 1:

Choose item 1 with config C1, it is not showing the
correct cost price as 12 dhs

 
Kindly note that PO's are packing slip updated only.

Use Misc Charge functionality

select the respe3ctive PO-- Invoice-- Misc Charge-- Adjustment

Creat new record  update the value.

Note: Keep Misc posting setup as Debit =Item  Credit =Vendor

   if you setup email  Other Alerts Parameters properly, and Batch Job. then 
you should be able to get Alerts. and all is setup properly then Goto 
Form-Tutorial-Event Processor. form will come infront of you, click on START 
Button. and leave it open then check you are receiving Alerts or not.

1. Right click the form and select  create alert rule.
2. Fill the necessary details and click OK.
 
3. Navigation: Basic - Periodic - Alerts - Change based alerts
4. I selected  Change based alerts.
5. I selected email parameters with following navigation:
    Administration - setup - email parameters 
    Basic - Setup - email templates
 

Rule will remain visible in the Manage alert rule (Navigation : Basic - Setup 
- Alerts - Manage Alert Rules) form, but no alerts will be generated and sent 
to the user based on this rule.

Administration -- setup -- email parameters 
Basic -- Setup -- email templates
 
and before that, if you have setted the below setting correctly without setting 
this parameter, you should see the alerts under : 
administration- - periodic -- email processing -- email sending status.
 
but if you are still not getting the normal alerts on the client that means you 
have a problem with the below setting. Give us more details abou the setting 
you have made in order to help you.

Hi,

 

that is great, it means two things for me. 

1- Since the alerts did not start before you run the tutorial, it means the 
batch you have setted up is not working properly, may be you have to check the 
recurrence option again to make it run for example every 10 min.

2- Since there is an email with status waiting, it means there is a problem for 
sure in the connection with your mail server. So, check the email parameters 
again and make sure about the security options  and accessibility to your mail 
server.

To set alerts from forms, i have done below steps:
1. Right click the form and select  create alert rule.
2. Fill the necessary details and click OK.
 
3. Navigation: Basic - Periodic - Alerts - Change based alerts
4. I selected  Change based alerts.
5. I selected email parameters with following navigation:
    Administration - setup - email parameters 
    Basic - Setup - email templates
 

Rule will remain visible in the Manage alert rule (Navigation : Basic - Setup 
- Alerts - Manage Alert Rules) form, but no alerts will be generated and sent 
to the user based on this rule.

If you need to process the email alerts, you have to set the email parameters: 
Administration -- setup -- email parameters 
Basic -- Setup -- email templates
 
and before that, if you have setted the below setting correctly without setting 
this parameter, you should see the alerts under : 
administration- - periodic -- email processing -- email sending status.
 
but if you are still not getting the normal alerts on the client that means you 
have a problem with the below setting. Give us more details abou the setting 
you have made in order to help you.

Hi,

Pls check if the *Batch* has been configured properly.

Also confirm the *Port number* you are using for email parameters.I guess
the problem lies in this only.


I have briefed the setups again . These needs to be done before receiving
any alerts. If these have been configured properly, I am sure Email alert
will be through.

1. Enable receiving of alerts on the user account options

2. Setup E-mail templates (Mandatory if emails also need to be sent)

3. Setup E-mail parameters (Mandatory if emails also need to be sent)

4. Setup Alert parameters

5. Setup “Batch groups”

6. Start the alerts and email jobs in the batch mode

run?
1) Administration - Setup - Email Parameters
2) Administration - Periodic - Email Processing - Batch

You  can also check if the alert emails have already been generated in
Administration - Periodic - Email Processing - Email Sending Status

To set alerts from forms, right click the form and select  create alert rule.
Fill the necessary details and click OK.
 
Go to Basic - Periodic - Alerts - Select either Change based alerts or 
Due-Date Based Alerts based on your requiremnt.
It is also possible to set Email alerts.
Refer Basic-Setup-Alerts and set up the necessary parameters.

U need to enable Email Alerts batch in addition to Change based alerts.
Have u enabled that??
It is in Adminstration -Periodic - Email Processing.
Set the recurrence in both the batches.

Also u need to configure Email parameters :
Adminstration -setup -Email parameters

Try the above settings.

Hi Anamika,

 

If you need to process the email alerts, you have to set the email parameters: 
Administration -- setup -- email parameters 

Basic -- Setup -- email templates

 

and before that, if you have setted the below setting correctly without setting 
this parameter, you should see the alerts under : 

administration-- periodic -- email processing -- email sending status.

 

but if you are still not getting the normal alerts on the client that means you 
have a problem with the below setting. Give us more details abou the setting 
you have made in order to help you.

Hi all I need help regarding this issue. 

I have created a counting journal whose number is 011477_077. I faced
problem during working a message appeared “Journal is not in use”, after
this message I  closed the session and now it’s not showing this counting
journal in the counting journal list neither in Open nor in posted list.

 

But when I  check those items then  in oh hand -à transactions there it
shows this number.

 

Any help would be highly appreciated.

The normal procedure of inventory closing is simple, but I would like to
suggest you to take care the below:

1) Check all open transactions, and it is not allowed that there are open
transactions when close the inventory.
2) Check the cost price before close the inventory
3) Run recalculation to check whether the inventory has problem, if no
problem, then close inventory.
4) Unit conversion is easy to make cost problem, you must take care it.

* Field 'Project' must be filled in.

This is weird, since I have already set number sequence for Project in

  I have a doubt during the upgrade, please considered a scenario where we 
are taking an upgrade project from client xyz to upgrade from Ax3.0 to Ax2009.

Say if we are taking the client's Ax3.0 environment and database and we are 
successfully upgrading it.

We will imagine that the upgrade takes 2 months to complete.In the meanwhile 
the customer would have made lot of transaction in his Ax3.0 environment. Now 
how do we update the records which are added in the 2 months period in Ax2009 
environment.

mmm you should do code upgrade and a test data upgrade and then when this is
all okay then you just do a data upgrade when the customer is ready to
switch over
 
We have a case of having done code and test data upgrade and now the
customer is taking a good 6 months to test everything (are are doing some
changes in AOT during this time also so we are having to update both 3.0 and
2009 ...no problem so long as you factor in effort for 2 data upgrades in
your cost (FYI it took us about 40 hours to get the first data upgrade to
work and completed for an Ax3.0 SP2)

i am facing a problem in dimension set hierarchies. We have 6
dimensions and i create dimension set based on these 6 deminsions and
also create dimension hierarchy. When i create the Collection rule the
system doesnt show me any dimention for the entry means the one's
which i have make the rule on. But if i do this setup for two
dimensions then the functionality works fine.

While creating journal template, select the  in connection with the balance  
in the new voucher series. After this, you will have different voucher no. once 
the debit equals the credit. As in your case, you would have selected one 
voucher only instead of in connection with the balance in the new voucher 
series by which all the transactions will have the same voucher no irrespective 
of the transactions.

Please select In connection with balance option for that particular Journal

and even then the system is showing this abnormal behavior. Means I have
selected in connection with balance  option and the entry is fully settled
that's why I am wondering. And this happens not in all or a specific journal
series but it is happening sometimes in one journal sometimes in other.

Hi sanam,

 

Check the journal names setting in GL  setup  journal  journal names. Find 
the journal that you’re using then see the general tab. Maybe you set it into 
‘one voucher number only’ by accident. Change the values in new voucher field, 
close the journal you’re currently using then reopen and add more lines. Hopes 
it will help you.

i am facing a strange problem in AX. when we do transactions in journals then 
it assigns one voucher number to line when the line is completed means offset 
account is also specified. Now the problem is that when one line is completed 
and when i create another line the system assigns the same voucher number to 
next line. 
Any idea about this abnormal behaviour... Any help would be highly appreciated

Hi,

As you are talking about advance against the PO. Make the payment
journal and do the payment. As you mention already through the open
transaction editing from the PO form you can settle the advance with the PO
invoice. It will settle the PO amount with the advance payment that you need
to select in the open transaction editing form.

Dear Champs!

 

Please give your comments in the scenario below;

 

In AX 2009, when I create a purchase order, I have following payment terms
or schedule

· 30% advance

I am more developer than functional consultant. Maybe there is a way
in standard AX 2009 that I may not be aware of.

However, I did make a small customization once -- you can create a
small software task to modify the safety stock levels to match sales
forecast before running master planning.  Provided that the expected
receipts are actually on POs, that should create a planned order for
the correct amount.

You can manually try using the safety stock menu item to try this out
manually - where you enter the sales forecast value and see if meets
your need. Then do the development to cause the same to happen.

Sanam Khan,

If I understand your requirement, you do NOT need to write custom
code; there IS a way in standard AX to use a custom number sequence
for sales orders by customer.

You can create a Number Sequence Group for each customer that needs a
custom number sequence.  Assign that Number Sequence group on the
setup tab of the Customer - see if that works for you.

Launch the help. Type in Number Sequence Group, sort, and look for
the Number Sequence Group (form). You will see a full explanation
there for how to set it up.

interpretation of your words. Please recognize that I may not
understand your requirement.

Dimensions need to be pre-defined and then they are attached to
transaction records.  If you want to programmatically create new
dimensions, you can create a number sequence and get numbers from that
sequence programmatically to insert a new dimension into the
dimensions list.  Is that what you want to do?  This is all developer
work to do but you have emailed the knowledge village group, rather

 I have a scenario that we have uploaded OB's for a warehouse like INTRANSIT
and now I want to completely reverse the same transactions. I think I can do
it by uploading the same transactions but with the negative or opposite
signs. But I need to know that is there any other way of doing so. Like

Dear All I am facing a problem 

When I create a sales order in the sales order form and I post the invoice
then after invoicing the sales order is deleted. 

Even in the Accounts Receivable parameters the option Delete line after
invoicing is not checked and even then its doing this.

There is a class in Axapta name *DatabaseTransDelete* that deletes all
transactions from the database and you will have to access it from the AOT
for obvious reason.

A strange requirement may be. I need to categorize the items into capital and 
revenue. These are irrespective of the itemgroups. Now the requirement is that 
when I client creates an Item it has to be either Capital/Revenue. I have 
added an enum for this. But the now requirement extends to disable the editable 
property of the enum whichever i have added as soon as the form is saved. The 
best example is when you select the item type and save the form, the edit 
property of the item type enum gets disabled. Can someone suggest me which 
would be the appropriate method/class/table where this happens..??

Try to search in label editor (Label), if not found try to search in AOT
Tree (customize) 

and write on contain text the message also check show source code try to
use method for searching type.

Michael's suggestion is best for a developer to break in the code at
the error and determine why it is happening.

Kathy Bb also provided some help. She wrote:

Using her help I searched the AOT for that label and found that the
error can be issued from only two locations in the code:

1) in the PurchFormLetter_Invoice.chooseAdditionalLine - the failure
occurs when the line being selected in the query to invoice is already
in a parm table for vendor invoice. I.e. could it be a purchase order
that was received in multiple shipments and it is partially invoiced
already?

2) in the init method of the PurchInvoiceMatchingDetails form. The
comment before the error says: // Don't allow for multiple copies of
the same VendInvoiceInfoTable record.

In case 2,  there are multiple invoices for a single purchase line, so
the software cannot choose a unique invoice for matching.  You did not
indicate specifically what the user was doing when the error appeared.
So I hope these comments are helpful to your further research.

It is not so easy to delete some but not all transactions because of
tie between sales and finance. If no sales orders are posted, you
could export SalesTable and SalesLine only - delete all transactions
with that class, then import the sales orders.

I have been stuck in a problem.. the user has created the invoice and I
think its been added in the batch job but in the system there is no batch
define for this. If I go to AP  inquiries  Journals History  invoice
it shows its status waiting... 

 

How can I get rid of this status because am unable to process the invoice

existing company profile, it is possible through ADMINISTRATION MODULE -- 
Company accounts -- Select existing company profile -- click duplicate button

packing slip against that PO. When I go to PO --  Inquiries button it shows
me the packing slip with the quantities I have received but when I go to
invoice the PO against that packing slip then it shows zero value.

Hello everyone,

I am currently working for a company that is implementing AX 4.0.  Our 
partner has really caused problems and we had to take the 
implementation inside our company.  We are looking for a programmer on 
a short term contract basis that can help us to finish the 
implemenation.  We are currently working on reports and table setup in 
the CRM, and order issues in AX. We want a programmer in the Atlanta 
area that can come to our office to help assist our project manager.  
A programmer that can help with the function of AX would be a plus.  
Does anyone know of a programmer that can help?

Also, we are looking for companies in the Atlanta area that can help 
answer questions on the functions with AX.  Is there any users in the 
Atlanta area where we can trade ideas with?

Hi,

You can try using sql server profiler (if you use sql server) to capture
what data are going to be inserted, and check what table is it and which
unique index of the table is being affected.

Hi All

 

 I need help regarding posting the inventory openings.

The scenario is that I am posting inventory openings by using the Movement
journal and that contains about 5 records. About 1000 records have been
posted.I need to know that what will happen if I stop this posting or there
is any power failure and after I start the posting would it start posting
from where the session was disconnected or it will start from the beginning
means any sort of duplication would happen.

Hi, 
Basically hide option works for end users.
But if you want to hide it permanently, do the visible property NO for that 
control in form. If that field used in many places in the form, then do it in 
data source field. If you don't want to see the filed in through out 
Application, then change the property in table level.

If you are talking abt.. the 'Account name' and 'Offset account name' fields
then know that the data for these controls is coming from display methods
and not from any field in a table so you will be anyways not able to edit
them. Let me know if thats not the case.

Well the control is not getting any data from a field of a table but from
display methods in LedgerJournalTrans table (accountName() and
offsetAccountName() methods). So you will never be able to edit the data in
this control. The data in these fields is used for information purpose and
is populated when the data in fields 'Account' and 'Offset account' is
changed. The names are fetched from respective master tables e.g. in the
case of vendor type transactions the account name is fetched from VendTable.

If you want an editable field then you may have to do some customization.
You may have to add a new field to LedgerJournalTrans table and add it to
LedgerJournalTransVendPaym form.
