[hlds_linux] Cannot start L4D2 server in Versus mode

2010-10-06 Thread Никита Булаев [Nikita Bulaev]
Hi, friends!

Trying to find the problem for two days, please help.

I've got server based on OpenSuse 11.3 x64. This is new server, so I
cannot say the preupdated server worked.
I try to start l4d2 sdrds in versus mode by command:

sudo -u srcds ./srcds_run -game left4dead2 +hostport 27020 -ip x.x.x.x
-pidfile /home/pid/srcds/l4d2-135.pid +map "c1m1_hotel versus"

But server starts in coop mode. And if I would type in console "map
c1m1_hotel versus" - server switches to versus mode. But it wont
switch to versus from command line at all in a lot of variation of
"+map ...".

Of cource servers start by the scripts, which wont work any more. So
this is debug command line.

I turned of metamod at all. So server is vanilla.

[hlds_linux] TF2 Update?

2010-10-06 Thread Ross Bemrose
I just had a TF2 client update, and it appears that there has also
been an update to the 'Team Fortress 2 Content' package on the server
side that updates the following files:

26.95% downloading /home/ocremix/highlander/orangebox/tf/bin/server.dll
68.78% downloading /home/ocremix/highlander/orangebox/tf/bin/server.dylib
100.00% downloading
/home/ocremix/highlander/orangebox/tf/maps/graphs/cp_dustbowl.ain

However, there is no OB Linux server update...

Re: [hlds_linux] L4D update 10/6 broke uppercase usernames again

2010-10-06 Thread ics
Joe is Joe on Linux and if there would be a username joe, it would be
joe. There could be also JOE which would be then again different
username. Windows does not care if if's lowercase, uppercase or
something between but linux does.

Personally i'd say everything should be lowercase, just to make sure
things like this would not happen.

Re: [hlds_linux] [hlds] TF2/CSS/DODS/HL2DM Updates Available

2010-10-06 Thread Kyle Sanderson
Actually, *whining* is what we all should be doing. It's rather
asinine that we have to wait at least a half an hour (per pushed
update) just to get the required update files. TF2 was horrendous
before CS:S was added to the update list, and now there's HL2:DM added
onto the load. If no *whining* occurs, Valve will have no idea that
something is terribly wrong, which there most definitely is. Running
3rd party scripts (which are nice, hell, absolutely great) just to get
the update ahead of everyone else doesn't make much sense to me in the
long run. This is just beating the rush, although you personally are
not dealing with it. It is a very real and the issue is quite apparent
to everyone else. Since our problems are not heard the first time
around, we're forced to *whine*. Hell, with the last update I can no
longer copy console lines (client issue), my CPU usage has increased
yet again (this update), status is still borked and there have been
multiple topics about it on the list. Steam3 also constantly goes
down, but that doesn't really bother me as much as all of these new
regressions with SRCDS. Regardless, what do you expect us to do?

Status issue: http://pastebin.com/y7WW3m9M

Just remember that you are not above everyone else, Michelle. At the
end of the day; we are all running GameServers.
Kyle.

[hlds_linux] L4D update 10/6 broke uppercase usernames again

2010-10-06 Thread Joshua Smith
The update today seems to have broken any servers owned by a linux user with
a uppercase username. User "joe" launches fine, while user "Joe" on the same
machine crashes on launch with:

Model models/props_c17/lamppost03a_off.mdl not found and models/error.mdl
couldn't be loadedModel models/props_c17/lamppost03a_off.mdl not found and
models/error.mdl couldn't be loaded

No luck, but my tf2 servers were crashing repeatedly without the update so I
had to take them down until the update is finally received.

There still seems to be something wrong with either the L4D server
software or it's the new Sacrifice campaign. I have random crashes on
our 3 L4D servers, which reside on 2 separate machines especially with
the new sacrifice campaign when maps change from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3. I
managed to see direct crash through console and this is the output.
Happened right after map started changing from 1 to 2. Note that there

I updated to the latest unstable release of smod. Still same problem, clients

problem with mani/eventscripts or the maps.Still trying to hash it out.

I also update gametxt file in Mani but I dont know any other gamadata files
to update.

Re: [hlds_linux] L4D2 steam community server doesnt work

2010-10-06 Thread ics
Yes, they changed that method so community servers can be picked.
However, best bet is just to define all the servers to:
mm_dedicated_force_servers "ip1:port1,ip2:port2,ip3:port3"
When search is initiated, it will search first among free servers on the
ones defined. Note that the ip must be separated with colon and you can
only use ip-addresses, not hostnames or it will not work.

Only workaround is select steam server press join, when go back to lobby

How possible is it to hard lock out the remote eaves-dropping/2D spectator
features when zb_warmode 1 is on?

These features look abusable for competitive gaming.

[hlds_linux] Source TV bug

2010-10-06 Thread molnár lászló
The problem is not that if the Source Tv takes 1 slot from the player slots.
(cause now it adds an extra slot for it if enabled)The problem is that if the
source TV is filled up whit spec their slots count in the server overal avaible
slots. For example: I make aa 10 slot server, enable the TV slots go up to 11
slot so 10 slots are still avaible fro the players.Lets say we enabled the TV
whit 8 slots. Now 6 player joins the server, if you watch the server info you
will see 6(1)/11.Spectators are starting to join on the TV and they fill up all
the 8 slots, now if you watch the server info you will see 14(1)/11 and the
rest of the players won't get into the server to play. Oh and sorry for the
