Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 question about Gmail
Hi I can't speak for Outlook 2013, but if you have a non-Gmail account, another way to receive messages you send to an email list using the Gmail account is to set up your Gmail account to use the outgoing server from your non-Gmail account. You'll have to specify the user name and password for the outgoing non-Gmail account. I like this method better because with the recent-colon method, you receive a copy of every email you send via the Gmail account. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2015 11:00 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 question about Gmail The question has arisen about configuring a Gmail account to receive your own messages posted to a mailing list. I was under the impression the fix is still the same as it was for several years placing the word recent with a Colon after that before the account name on the server tab. I must admit that I don't have 2013 although with some stumbling around am able to figure things out when needed. I tried the fix mentioned above but the server would not accept the password for the account until I removed the recent fix so to speak. So what is needed is somebody with greater experience with outlook 2013 to chime in and give me some much guidance. That sounds like a good idea, it didn't cross my mind in this instance. I have had to do that method for folks who use web mail that have com cast as their provider since that service insists on people using their outgoing server, thanks for the suggestion. Hi Dacia, What antivirus are you running? There are a couple of antivirus programs that will give OE problems unless you know how to tweak them. Did you run the installer as Administrator? Here's what I do. In the, to, box, I start typing the name of the person I am emailing. If that name doesn't come up after a few letters, then I use the up and down arrows to look for it. If the person is in my contact list or if I have ever sent an email to that person it should show up. When it does press tap to go to the next field. If I can't find that person that way, I know I have to put them in my contacts list. Then the next time I want to send them an email, their name will come up. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Neil Towery Sent: Monday, August 17, 2015 2:31 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 e-mail, putting addresses in the to field Hello Gang: With Outlook 2013 e-mail, how do you get addresses into the to field? Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Outlook.
Windows Live Mail is free, and is part of a suite of programs called Windows Live Essentials, which includes Mail, Writer, One Drive,Photo Gallery, and Movie Maker. You can choose which of these you want to install, and to me, Mail is the only one that I would have. I haven't used Outlook Express, but I do know that Windows Live Mail, when developed, was taken straight from the Outlook Express program. In fact, when you open your Inbox in Windows Live Mail, JAWS reads Outlook Express message list view. The web address for the download of Windows Live Essentials is: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials The last version of this program is 2012, but it is still a very good suite of stuff. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 messages not reading subject field in list view
Hi Have you tried restarting JAWS or rebooting your computer? If that doesn't help, try routing the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor and see if the subject shows up When you do a SayLine. If the subject isn't there, go to the view ribbon and in the current view group choose view settings. You will find an entry that says columns. In this item you can add or remove columns and change the order in which they are displayed. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Liuda Balcius Sent: Monday, April 13, 2015 09:05 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 messages not reading subject field in list view I use JAWS 16, Win 7 and Outlook 2010 as my e-mail client. Gary, Have you installed the scripts for this version? I sent you the link earlier. Here it is again: http://www.jaws-users.com/scripts/JAWS/OutlookExpressJAWSScripts.zip Take care. Follow the prompts to install OE, and then make sure to reboot the computer after the installation is complete. 4. In this dialogue, you will be on the general tab, so just tab until you come to the run combo box, and arrow to maximized, this will open the program in a maximized window every time. 7. Now tab to the advanced button, and spacebar that. 8. in this dialogue, tab to the checkbox to run as administrator, and check it, then tab to okay, and spacebar that. 9. Yes, it is although there is a script that you should run to enable Jaws to recognize you are running OE; since OE is not normally available if you run Windows Vista or higher. I think the link to the script file is on the Jaws-Users script page. Seems to be a Jaws bug. Have noticed it with JFW 15 and now 16. Very hit and miss. Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook options,
Hi, I know this is a little off top but can someone tell me the keystroke for re-enabling and disabling the mousepad/touchpad on a Dell laptop? Thanks Lauren Blessings in Jesus’ Name These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 status line issue
Hi here is the way I read how many messages that are in a in box or a folder. Insert page down this is the only way I know to read how many I have to go through. The question I have is why haven't they given us a way to know what number you are in the list. I am not familiar with this Imap settup. Can this type of settup be changed. You are correct about the slowness issues. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Cristóbal Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2015 2:22 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 status line issue That sounds like an iMap set up to me. Pop3 does this along with Exchange accounts, but have never been able to get iMap accounts to read this info. Furthermore, you'll find that Jaws behaves very slowly with iMap accounts. Deleting emails, etc. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of JR Vaughn Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2015 11:20 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 status line issue List, installed Office 2010 on a new Toshiba notebook running windows 7 and Jaws 15 and 16. I thought I had set up the Outlook 2010 correctly, but my status line does not indicate the number of messages as it does on my other computer running office 2003. While on the message list, when I do a read bottom (status) line, jaws says filter applied, connected, 100%). Any thoughts? Cannot find anything in the view menu to change to get the number of messages in the particular folder.
