This picture wants to depict the inside of the church, as it could be required for a tourist guide or the like. If so, it's OK. :-/ 2. This picture wants to be worth in itself, whichever the place is. If so, it needs a subject to focus on at a certain time. On 9/9/05, [EMAIL PROTECTED], discombobulated, unleashed: Sounds like the high bidder backed out and the seller is now trying to sell it on the side without ebay getting their cut. They can say it didn't sell, period, that way. A classic way that a dishonest eBayer will drive up the price on an item is to use separate email accounts that have separate eBay accounts (using separate eBay IDs of course, registered to separate home addresses) in order to bid up the price, hoping the genuine bidder(s) will respond. If they don't, that's when you get the emails illustrated here. Re: Decisions, decisions...
On 10/9/05, Herb Chong, discombobulated, unleashed: from a megapixels point of view, they have settled. higher frame rate has its cost. on the film side of things, the tradeoff never had to be made in the same way. a piece of film has the same resolution in every camera body, as JCO is fond of pointing out. AFAIK it is Canon's plan to consolidate the top line into one model, obviously full frame with the higher frame rate, and that's just a matter of the electronics handling the data quickly enough. It will happen. They don't want people using ~200mm 2.8 focal lengths for sport when there's much more expensive ~300mm and 400mm 2.8s to be sold Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=|http://www.cottysnaps.com _

CR-2016 Lithium Batteries for istDS
I noticed a couple of web sites mention that the istDS is supposed to come with CR-2016 Lithium Batteries for the date function. I didn't see such a battery in the package I received, nor can I find any mention of it in the copy of the manual that I have. This is one of those little button batteries. So, what's the deal? If you've a DS, did you get such a battery? Was it inside the camera? Where in the camera is it and how can it be changed or replaced? Shel

RawShooter may not be the best program in the marked. But thats the one I am using. I'm in the face of learning editing. LED lighting
Does anyone have experience of LED lighting panels in photography? Although there are commercial products available, it should not be that difficult for the electronics buff to make a couple of panels quite cheap. White high intensity LEDs are avaialble for about $50 per 100 and that should be enough for small object photography, I think. With 25-50 light sources mounted close together, a diffusor seems unnecessary. What kind of light intensity would be required at a distance of 50 cm (20 inches)? I'm afraid that I know little about the physics involved apart from that some of it is measured in Candela. Ah, the Wiki says that a 100W bulb emits about 120 Cd. A 5mm LED can give 20.000 mCd so 100 of the blighters should give 2000 Cd. That sounds pretty intense, does't it? Any help is appreciated :-) Bertil

When looking for an upgrade (no cripple mount) to my -50 I rejected the -5 as it did not have DOF preview and exposure ML. I also rejected the -3 on grounds of (unjustified to me, just a slightly faster shutter) cost and it was a toss-up between the -5n and the -6 (which has very good flash features, in addition to DOF preview and exposure ML), but has a penta-mirror, rather than a penta-prism. If I was to make the same decision again, I would again hold the same toss-up, and the first one to arrive at a good price I would buy. RE: RawShooter problems(Solved)
Found the answer in the FAQ RSE does not launch. If RSE did not close gracefully, there is a chance that it will not launch the next time that you go to use it. If this should ocur, please download this file and run it (double-click) from anywhere in your system. This should clear up the problem by deleting a temp file that was left behind due to the improper closure of RSE. URL: http://pictureflow.fileburst.com/_rs/fixtempdir.bat Whatever this file does, it solved the problem. So if you ever experience the same thing, run that file. However, on specs alone, GD I wouldn't want the Tokina due to its size and weight. Specs can be misleading. The Tokina is the smallest 2.8 wide zoom ever produced, and for the speed and reach, it's quite small.Unfortunately, the samples I have tried were quite bad on digital, with lot of purple fringing and other failures. I have heard good things about it on film, and one news shooter quite liked his paper's, so maybe it could be worth a look. Perhaps it's sample variation, or whatever.

Funny you should bring this up Shel because I just got home (within the last 1 hour) from spending a thoroughly enjoyable day and night (14:00-23:30) walking around Fremantle and Perth with him (He asked me if anyone had noticed he was missing and I said Nah, and he just laughed.). F 17-28 Fisheye Redux
A couple of months ago I purchased a bargain-grade 17-28 Pentax Fisheye Zoom from KEH. After receiving the lens and checking it out I wrote to the list as it appeared to me to be mis-assembled (the lens, not the list). It was focusing well past infinity at the infinity mark, and at 17mm zoom its minimum focus distance was ~5 feet as opposed to the indicated 1.5 feet. At the 28mm setting it was a bit better but still out past infinity for most of the available focus travel. So I shipped it back requesting repair or replacement with another bargain 17-28 they happened to have in stock. I received the other lens as a replacement, and it exhibited the exact same symptoms! At this point I was suspecting that I was the one who was having the problem, not the lens. I kept it and have tested it and played with it and partially disassembled and reassembled it several times and I'm now convinced that it is indeed mis-assembled somehow; and not just because I took it apart, I was convinced before I began taking it apart. I have not been able to isolate the problem. I have a theory, but before I spend a lot of typing a longer screed and bore the vast majority of you, I was hoping that someone might have had some personal experience taking this lens apart or know where a service manual or exploded diagram (an intact diagram might be helpful as well) is posted on the web or available for purchase, or at least can commiserate with me on my experience and tell me this is a known phenomenon. If there is such a person you may contact me off-list if you like. Thanks, Michael __ Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/
