Yes it is and, after looking at most of these for a couple of weeks,
these are the ones appeal most to me:

* Ken's 'Bad Mud' and Dan's 'Giant's Stepping Stones' - totally
different subjects but very similar in concept.

* Subash's 'The Fern Look' - an extremely unusual perspective.

* John's 'Mushrooms on the March' - wonderful colour with subtle shadows
- and an innovative title!

* Ted's 'Steel Creek Reflections' - beautiful colours and a 'painterly'
look.

* Paul's 'Autumn Memory' - very subtle tones. I suspect that most of us
would never have noticed the photo opportunity here.

* Ann's 'Written in Stone' - wonderfully abstract.

* Rob's 'Dipping of the Fronds' - one of those images where the more you
look, the more there is to see.

* Bong's 'Bert's Chin' - wonderfully complex patterns and colour.

Cheers

Yes. The digital backs for Hasselblad was made by a Danich company, that did
merge with Hasselblad (Sweden) a few years back. I guess the scanners came from
the very same company - which now is a part of the Hasselblad concern.

Re: Pentax 67 resolution compared to 15 MP Digital

2011-01-09 Thread Jens
Yes, I quite happy with the FA* 2.8 28-70mm AL. It acturally outperforms many
of my primes, except maybe my Limited lenses such as the 43mm and 77mm - and of
cource my old 1.8 85mm, whic is the best portrait lens I've had so far.

I do understand now, thanks to the answers from PDML members, that judging the
quality/resolution/sharpness of my Pentax 67 images, will very much depend on
which scanner I will be using for scanning my P67 negs and slides.

I will soon receive the Velvia, Astia and Ektar films from the lab - all
exposed through the shutter of a Pentax 67.
I will let you know how the images turned out - canned on the Epson Perfection
3200 Photo scanner.
I may chose to get some scannes done at my lab.

Meanwhile I'll hopefully be playing with a bran new K-5 :-)

Regards
Jens

Re: What to charge for a friend's wedding

2011-01-09 Thread paul stenquist
I shot a wedding for some very close friends I gave them the files, some pics
and a wedding book as a gift. For a friend of a friend, who I knew quite well,
I gave them the files and a few pics and charged them $300. In your case, if
the person is a close friend and is paying for your travel, I'd insist on doing
it for free. If you have a DSLR, I'd avoid renting one you're not familiar
with. Work with a camera you know and use every day.

Tell her you will match the lowest quote she gets or you will do it
for "free". Make sure she understands that the quality will not be
any different in either case nor, in either case, will you have
insurance. Then let her make her own mind up.

If you've never done it for a paying customer and depending how much

the only way I'd agree to do it is if I'm not the only one.

Cotty's advice works...but if you're a "friend" enough to want to do
it, my advice is to ask them what are their expectations from you.
They might actually expect the "works" when all you were thinking of
was giving the soft copy of the photos--then you're in trouble.

In the event they want the "works" then charge them for the cost of
the prints, albums including whatever else you may rent or hire.

There are cases where I have been asked by friends and relatives to
give the service as a "gift" and I would agree to do it only if ...

1) I don't spend anything...so their expectations must match the
output: soft copies are free but prints are not.

2) I am treated as a guest who happens to be taking photos and not as
a hired professional. The quality of the work would not differ, of
course, but I expect to be treated differently (subject to a lot of
cultural nuances--being perhaps the only one from the Philippines may
make my experiences quite unique).

Cheers!

OT Firefox and favorites

2011-01-09 Thread David J Brooks
I'm just in the process of getting the iMac going. I have been looking
and searching to find out how to copy and import my firefox favorites
from the iBook to the iMac when i upload Firefox to it.
I can find out how to export from IE but those links are not visible
when i look for export in fire fox.
Any tips. I am not looking forward to hand balming these.

My last roll of Kodachrome

2011-01-09 Thread Bob Sullivan
I took 2 rolls into my local photo shop on December 28th.
They called with the processed slides on Thursday and
I picked them up on Saturday, January 8th.

I shot snow scenes with the MZ-S and 77mm limited.
Same subject matter I have been shooting with the K-5 & 31mm.
As always, the Kodachrome is sparkling.
Damn! I'm gonna miss that film. ;-(

Re: OT Firefox and favorites

2011-01-09 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
I am not a big user of FireFox, but I believe the way to do this is
the following:

- Go to the Bookmarks menu
- Pick "Organize Bookmarks"
- Click on the third button on the toolbar (top) ...

You should see a submenu with "Backup...", "Restore" menu, "Import
HTML...", "Export HTML...".

- Choose "Backup...", pick a location, and it will write a .json file there.

- Move that file to the iMac.
- Open FireFox, go to the Bookmarks organizer tool
- Pick "Choose File..." from the bottom of the '"Restore" menu' noted above

Firefox will now import all your bookmarks replacing whatever current
set of bookmarks it has.

Dave,

The best method, which also gives you an added layer of security by
storing your bookmarks offsite, is by using Xmarks:

I have 4 computers and am able to keep all my bookmarks synchronised
amongst them thanks to this neat add-on.

I don't think the K-5 is noticeably better in terms of noise. The advantages
lie elsewhere, probably in exposure accuracy, autofocus, resolution,
weatherproofing, and perhaps dynamic range. I don't think you'll see much
difference in a comparison of web-sized images.

A friend asked me to shoot her wedding next August. They'll be covering my
room and board for a few days in a very nice location, and since they're
friends, I figured I'd just give 'em the photo files (with some minor edits
(rotating, color balance, etc)) for free as a wedding gift.
Well, the bride insisted I charge them, but I have no idea what to charge.
I'm probably going to rent a K5 for this, so I suppose it should at least
cover that (a couple hundred bucks).

Any suggestions?

lol ... I'm scanning the roll of Ilford XP2 Super I put through the

automated 35mm 6-exposure strip feeder. Not hard to scan, but damn ...

Re: Re: Pentax 67 resolution compared to 15 MP Digital

2011-01-09 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
I occasionally get nostalgic and think I want to work with film again.
Then I shoot a roll of film, have it processed, and work through the
scanning business. After that, and after I look at the photos the
process creates, I put the film camera away until the next time I feel
nostalgic.

Going through the cycle yet again right now. I've been scanning this
roll of XP2 Super from the Olympus Trip 35. Two hours and some just to
get the scanning done with a mostly automated process. It's a
delightful camera, I like shooting with it. The photos it made are
lovely. But I'm done once more with film.

I'll be going for a walk soon and will carry ... the Olympus E-5.
Hopefully the Fuji X100 will live up to my expectations, it would be
nice to have a camera like the Trip 35 for when I want something
smaller and lighter to knock about with.

OT LR3 Catalogues

2011-01-09 Thread David J Brooks
iMac seems to be up and running fine.

Now, a question re LR3.

I installed the up grade to LR3.3 on this new machine, seems to be fine.
I hooked up my external HD and imported the last saved catalogue from
a week ago. It seems to have loaded, but when i click on a file on the
left side menu, i get thumbnails with no pictures, it shows the pencil
and other icons that i edited the file and gave it keywords etc.. I
then went to the ? mark to locate the file on the back up drive, found
it and selected it and it then gives me a "no file/photo found" on the
screen. Not sure whats up here. It did the first one OK, but none of
the rest i have done are found.
Do i have to go to each file and "find" the storage for it.??or is there a batch

Moving on to install PSCS hope that works.

PAW Week 1

2011-01-09 Thread Christine Aguila
Hi Everyone: Probably not a good idea to do this after DagT's ultra
stunning year of PAW, but I was inspired by his photographic eye, of course,
but mainly by the discipline requisite for such a project. As I mentioned
when I first joined the PDML, I'm flawed: I like geese, and my degree of
discipline needs to be enlarged.

Of course, as you all are probably thinking right now, the decision to
commit to PAW led to a camera bag problem. As you know, I am a girl, and
girls carry purses; I've never carried the kitchen-sink variety, but I am
woman enough to feel better when my few items are neatly organized in a
fashionable purse that's comfortably totable. But since returning to
photography 4 years ago, I've had nothing but a camera bag-and-purse
problem--one that leaves me cursing the gods and glaring at cute puppies and
small children.

And PAW presents yet another unique camera bag problem. I needed a bag that
could tote my purse stuff and a camera and single lens because I want to
carry a camera with a single lens everyday. And it has to be sleek and slim
and some what fashionable--though I didn't have my hopes up for much
fashion.

Well, I found the what seems to be the perfect bag, and I'm all giddy--the
Domke F803 camera satchel. Oh my gosh, am I happy. Here it is:
http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=domke&itemnum=701-83N
The dark navy will go with my very best blue jeans. Yee Ha!

Anyway, here's the 1st post for week one.

Re: OT LR3 Catalogues

2011-01-09 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
What do you mean "imported the last saved catalogue from a week ago"?

- If you have the Lightroom catalog folder AND the the original image
files on the same external drive, you just open the .LRCAT file on
that drive with Lightroom and everything should work fine.

- If you have moved the Lightroom catalog folder to the internal hard
drive of the iMac, you right-click on the topmost* folder shown in the
Lightroom Library module, Folders panel and use the "Update Folder
Location..." function to pilot to the topmost folder on the external
drive volume. Then everything should work fine.

* by "topmost" I mean the folder in your image file hierarchy which
contains all the other folders in which your original image files are
stored. You might need to right-click on the folders in the Folders
panel and use the "Add Parent Folder" command iteratively until all
folders are contained under a single topmost folder.

I have an download on http://www.gdgphoto.com/articles which relates
to this ... click on "08 - Lightroom - Moving a large number of files"
as the concepts and operations required are the same.

When I first saw her work after the link was posted here I thought about
that question. The other 'discovered too late' photographer who came to my
mind is not Atget but E J Belloq and also Lartigue.

I think that Ken Tanaka is wrong to say "Maier can never be recognized [...]
mainly because she worked in utter isolation and influenced nothing in her
time" because she may influence people now that she has been discovered, if
her work has enough that is new.

Similarly I think he is wrong to say "That is, her work is outstanding but
not important in the historical narrative of photography". I think it's too
early to tell - we haven't seen enough of the stuff yet, and we haven't seen
it for long enough to see what, if any, impact it might have.

My view is that she probably _will_ become an interesting footnote, rather
like Belloq, but Belloq's work has been influential and it is important.

If she had been 'in the game' at the time the other great Chicago
photographers were then it would have been a different story altogether.

I can't remember whether you had an E-3 or went straight from the E-1 to the

Nearly finished sorting out 2010 pictures. We went to a baseball game
while

we were in Chicago for the PDML exhibition.

Didn't have a clue what was going on for most of the time, but enjoyed it
thoroughly. People were friendly and tried to help us make sense of the
proceedings and the atmosphere was fantastic. There was even a band
playing
when we got there, They were called Petty Cash and, bizarrely, did a
mixture

of Tom Petty and Johnny Cash covers. Sounds like someone came up with a
great name for a band and then thought "what material shall we do?".

The last picture is the lost opportunity - if only I'd got the lady and
her

granddaughter in focus!

I clicked on the last .LRCAT file i have on the external. It then said
it would be updated to reflect the LR3 version.
I can now see all of my folders on the left side, including the All
Photos at the very top which has 6146 photos which is about right.

When i click on a folder, I can see the thumbnail boxes but no
pictures. I then click on the ? in the upper right corner to find the
location on the external. I click on said file and then i get a blank
screen saying no photos found in folder. The file then shows 0 photos,
and before i went to find these it shows the actual number of photo
beside the files.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong here.

What to charge for a friend's wedding

2011-01-09 Thread Luiz Felipe
Quite a number of sound ideas and advices so far, so I might only add: beware
of Murphy. Of course, you are welcome to keep reading the rest.

Around here a wedding photo album offers great cash values AND still greater
responsibility. Fail to do the job and you have a life-long enemy squad.
Failure includes not meeting expected styles and key shots... do ask them
exactly what they want, with example if possible. If it's not in your grasp
(need extra hands, special gear, not a style you are ok with), do tell them.

- trusted, adequate gear and suitable backup, including batteries and cards -
rented gear may have lower batt life than expected, not to mention other
issues. Proving the rented gear was the problem will not be enough...

- helping hands are welcome, but asking for the 16-50 and getting the 15mm is a
problem, not to mention the possible dropping of stuff while both are looking
at the bride's best friend. A friend of mine almost lost his Xti when a helping
hand tried to insert the second card inverted...

As long as I love helping friends and taking photos, I'm too rusty for a proper
wedding job these days, and even if the Kr came home today I'd need to train
myself to its layout. Later I'd probably be at ease with the gear, so I would
probably accept, as long as the expected kind of photo is within my ability and
gear - and since I don't know the ceremony well enough I'd insist on being
present at any rehersals, discussing the photo ops with the couple. Wouldn't
charge at all, accepting only high value, third party costs.

PLS beware of Murphy - he managed to put my car on fire on the way to a job,
causing me to arrive at the church covered in white powder, a few seconds
before the bride - who accepted to take a third round-the-square car ride while
I shook the worst of the powder from me and my bag. No adittional events,
couple smiling during and after getting the prints, but I decided to call a
break after that, sold the Hasselblad rather cheap and burned the clothing -
not accepting the risk of poisoning anyone by throwing it off. Did rebuild the
car - was a small fire and I carry two extinguishers.

Excellent! Great expression and bw rendering. When did those kinds of hats
become popular. I was at the Vivian Maier opening reception Friday night
and bunches of folks, mostly young, were wearing them. While I love the

Well, I can't call it nostalgia. Maybe envy is more appropriate. But I went
looking for TLR camera's this morning. Quickly decided Rollei's are out of my
league. Yashica D, or maybe 124 or 124G, is more like it. And not now. Need to

Well, I'd hope they have much in common. Still, there should be some diff at
sensor level, or DXOMARK wouldn't give them diff rankings (82 vs. 72).

I do agree with your point, Paul. The K-5 advantage will most probably be
noticed only in more extreme situations. Still, I suspect there will some
moments where it will be decisive. Not that I expect to be in one of those

I don't think the K-5 is noticeably better in terms of noise. The advantages
lie elsewhere, probably in exposure accuracy, autofocus, resolution,
weatherproofing, and perhaps dynamic range. I don't think you'll see much
difference in a comparison of web-sized images.

help needed with pentax software and card reader

2011-01-09 Thread Ann Sanfedele

Ok so it is true confessions time. I'm totally flummoxed by something
I though I should be able to figure out.

First of all I want to let you guys know that one of you, Steve
Desjardins to be precise, loaned me an elderly DSL - indefinitely _
a PENTAX - so I can honestly take photos for PUG now instead of diggin
gup stuff my my archives all the time and
can use full Pentax for the next PDML book. and even maybe get onto the
Pentax online gallery, if I have the patience.
While I'm eternally grateful to my friend, I'm hitting some snags using
the equipment.

So here is my problem... the loaner is an ist d - and I have the
software loaded for PEntax Browser and Pentax Lab...
but I don't have the cord that goes from the camera into the USB2
port... couldn't find one anywhere. However, I
do ahve a little card reader - a Targus that takes the cf cards the ist
d uses.

I couldnt make things go with the card reader. the computer recognized
the hardware it said.

So I took the card out of the D and put it in my canon rebel and voila!
I was able to read and download all the jpg files
I had shot with the D. But then I set the camera to do RAW and
couldn't download that way.

When I attach the card reader I hear the bell that tells me the
computer knows somethign is there but I don't know which pentax stuff to

open to connect with it...

I've been using the Canon zoom Browser for everything .. and I'm used to
just doing it directly from the camera.

Can someone plese talk to me like I was a totaly neophite and tell me
step by step what to do to get the images from
the card reader? I don't know what the computer calls the card reader..

I need to get the PEF files on and then I imagine I can open them with
Adobe Elements... I"d like to be able to extract the jpgs too.

Ive got Windoze XP, Elements 5.0 .

Oddly, I got the card reader to respond at one point but using the Canon
software and I ahve NO idea how it happened... I
really can't remember what ive done from one minute to the next unless
ive done it at least twenty times.

T I A
now I'm going out to shoot for a bit

Re: Still more on Vivian Maier

2011-01-09 Thread Steven Desjardins
People can always come up with esoteric reasons why things can't be
true even when the contrary is obvious. Maier can be a great
photographer simply based on her own work, influence be damned. But
even that makes little sense. She can now influence the way we see
Chicago during her time and her style can influence modern
photographers.

Just to note, I have only seen a small sample of her work which I
found to be very compelling. I'm not ready to beatify her yet but I
would like to judge her on her work and not her place in someone's
theories.

Keep in mind that the works on the blog have apparently been selected
BY MALOOF, who was not even into photography before his discovery. Now
either he is a "natural" curator with an excellent eye, or he has
relied on some "help", or her work is just empiracally and obviously
excellent. What we have seen is only a small fraction of the images
she has produced, but an impressive fraction.

Of course, as you all are probably thinking right now, the decision to
commit to PAW led to a camera bag problem. As you know, I am a girl,
and girls carry purses; I've never carried the kitchen-sink variety,
but I am woman enough to feel better when my few items are neatly

since returning to photography 4 years ago, I've had nothing but a
camera bag-and-purse problem--one that leaves me cursing the gods and
glaring at cute puppies and small children.

And PAW presents yet another unique camera bag problem. I needed a
bag that could tote my purse stuff and a camera and single lens
because I want to carry a camera with a single lens everyday. And it
has to be sleek and slim and some what fashionable--though I didn't
have my hopes up for much fashion.

Re: help needed with pentax software and card reader

2011-01-09 Thread John Francis

The one big thing is that you will have to give up using Canon Zoom
Browser; that program can't handle RAW files from a Pentax camera.

But not to worry.

When you plug your CF card reader into your USB slot, it shows up
as an external hard drive (probably drive E:).

If you've got things set up so that Zoom Browser gets started
automatically to try to transfer files, don't worry; just exit
out of Zoom Browser.

Go to "My Computer" (probably there's an Icon for this on the
desktop; if not, you can get there easily from the "Start" menu).
You'll see a drive there in the section "Drives with Removable
Storage" - click on that and you'll see the drive. Your images
will be down a couple of levels of folders (probably called
DCIM and Pentax100).

Once you get there, you can drag-and-drop the images (JPEGs,
PEFs, etc.) to wherever you want them to be on your hard drive.
You'll then be able to open them up and look at them with any
editing program, the Pentax browser software, or whatever.

Ok, I think i may have found out what the deal is here.

I did not scroll all the way down the file folders on the left hand
side. I guess after i picked a folder and went and showed LR where the
new location was, in my back up 4 external disk, it then made a NEW
folder under Backup-4.

A huge D'oh.

When I got my K-x, I did not at all care about the video, but I've found it a
pleasant surprise. I find that there are times when I'm photographing an event
and realize that it would be handy to have video of it, and it's nice to be
able to just use the camera already in my hand. I've also been blown away by
the quality of the video that it takes.

These are the video equivalent of snapshots, done by someone who doesn't know
video, under challenging light conditions:
http://www.youtube.com/user/henryofarad#p/u

In short, I find Video to be handy a couple times a month. LV would be handy
if it worked a bit better, and it would be very handy with a swivel monitor.
I've never even tried the in camera processing, though I once did try the in
camera HDR.

You certainly can walk around taking pictures with a 67. During the
brief period I had mine I shot about 20 rolls handheld and 3-4 rolls
on a tripod. Got good results when shooting handheld.

I'd still recommend a Mamiya 7 or GS/GSW670 for the dedicated handheld

Ironically I've come to feel the same way about digital as you do

The sensor is not capable of LV or video. Which is a distinct loss in
the case of Live View (which is a superb innovation as it turns your
DSLR into a miniature view camera, complete with a built-in magnifier.
Absolutely awesome when working on a tripod).

Personally I could care less about video. Ditto for in-camera

Luiz, I am quite confident that you will not be disappointed by the
performance of the K-r.

The first 5 of these are hand held, ISO 3200 between 1/6 and 1/13 second. The
next 10 are using the 540 flash bounced off the ceiling at ISO 200, and the
last two are with the K-x at ISO 2000:

Besides, a K-r in your hands will take much better pictures than half a K-5 in

Quite a few of the people I work with apparently _only_ use manual for that.

Excellent shot. An interesting juxtaposition and, of course, my favorite

Is a P5 worth anything?

2011-01-09 Thread Larry Colen
Saw this ad on craigslist:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/pho/2144182087.html
$30 for P5, m50/1.7, Rikenon 35-70mm 1:3.5-4.5, and a small flash

I expect that the zoom isn't really worth anything, and the 50/1.7 is probably
worth the $30.

Well, the 50 1.7 is certainly worth $30, if it's in good nick.

I liked the P5 (P50 here). It was my workhorse camera for quite a few
years in the 1980s/90s. I always liked the look and feel of it. It had
its limitations (no manual setting of ISO; no TTL flash; no manual
shutter speed, so without batteries it was cactus) but, for what I was
doing with it, those things weren't important to me. I still have it.

Re: help needed with pentax software and card reader

2011-01-09 Thread Ann Sanfedele

John Francis wrote:

The one big thing is that you will have to give up using Canon Zoom
Browser; that program can't handle RAW files from a Pentax camera.

Yeah I already discoverd that... it can't slide show even canon raw
files _ I have to extract

the jpgs to slideshow it.

But not to worry.

When you plug your CF card reader into your USB slot, it shows up
as an external hard drive (probably drive E:).

E is occupied with a 500 gig hard drive :-)
however F is what comes up...

If you've got things set up so that Zoom Browser gets started
automatically to try to transfer files, don't worry; just exit
out of Zoom Browser.

No not automatic...

I found it but it doesnt say "drives with Removable storage" anywhere...

Once you get there, you can drag-and-drop the images (JPEGs,
PEFs, etc.) to wherever you want them to be on your hard drive.
You'll then be able to open them up and look at them with any
editing program, the Pentax browser software, or whatever.

actually I selected all then copied them into a folder I made with the
date...

It went so fast I thought only one image was copied!

I had a ton of choices to make when the computer recognized the card
reader...
I just had been selecting things before that didnt work.

Thanks, John...
Now I can shoot raw!

First of all I want to let you guys know that one of you, Steve

a PENTAX - so I can honestly take photos for PUG now instead of
diggin gup stuff my my archives all the time and
can use full Pentax for the next PDML book. and even maybe get onto
the Pentax online gallery, if I have the patience.
While I'm eternally grateful to my friend, I'm hitting some snags
using the equipment.

So here is my problem... the loaner is an ist d - and I have the
software loaded for PEntax Browser and Pentax Lab...
but I don't have the cord that goes from the camera into the USB2
port... couldn't find one anywhere. However, I
do ahve a little card reader - a Targus that takes the cf cards the
ist d uses.

I couldnt make things go with the card reader. the computer
recognized the hardware it said.

So I took the card out of the D and put it in my canon rebel and
voila! I was able to read and download all the jpg files
I had shot with the D. But then I set the camera to do RAW and
couldn't download that way.

When I attach the card reader I hear the bell that tells me the
computer knows somethign is there but I don't know which pentax
stuff to
open to connect with it...

I've been using the Canon zoom Browser for everything .. and I'm
used to just doing it directly from the camera.

Can someone plese talk to me like I was a totaly neophite and tell
me step by step what to do to get the images from
the card reader? I don't know what the computer calls the card
reader..

I need to get the PEF files on and then I imagine I can open them
with Adobe Elements... I"d like to be able to extract the jpgs too.

Ive got Windoze XP, Elements 5.0 .

Oddly, I got the card reader to respond at one point but using the
Canon software and I ahve NO idea how it happened... I
really can't remember what ive done from one minute to the next
unless ive done it at least twenty times.

T I A
now I'm going out to shoot for a bit

Re: What to charge for a friend's wedding

2011-01-09 Thread John Celio

?> Quite a number of sound ideas and advices so far, so I might

only add: beware of Murphy. Of course, you are welcome to
keep reading the rest.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. Just to clear a few things up:

- If I could own a K-5 (or K-7) before the wedding, I would, but I don't
think I can afford to yet. I am going to borrow a friend's K-7 for an event
I'm shooting in April, so I should be able to learn my way around that body
design easily. Back at my old camera shop job, I had to learn new cameras
very quickly to be able to sell them, so I'm not too worried it.

- My K10D is woefully inadequate for shooting weddings. Horrible noise in
low light coupled with back-focusing with nearly all my lenses, I am so
frustrated with the damn thing I rarely take pictures at all these days. I
will bring it as a backup, though.

- I've shot a wedding before and did alright. I explained to the bride that
I am not a professional, but she seems okay with that. She doesn't want an
album or any fancy editing, so I'm not looking to charge much.

I like the idea of finding out what low quotes she got, so I might just ask
her about that.

Thanks again for the advice,
John

Is a P5 worth anything?

2011-01-09 Thread Luiz Felipe
well, the P5 is quite an interesting camera with the drawbacks listed by Brian
below. The 50mm in question looks like either a K or M 50mm, and the price is
rather interesting - a clean one in BR goes somewhere between $70 and $130.

I'd rather an A/ FA 50mm myself, actually. I'm quite happy with my m50 1.7, but
sometimes being able to work in auto aperture would be very interesting.
