I can do that. Still, I think I don't know enough about the LMS. Could
you maybe tell me a little guide. how to switch it to debug mode and
then back again?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Deezer app

2020-12-08 Thread philippe_44

I've been using with great success Deezer in flac mode, including flow &
seeking in tracks :)

Everything seems to move to flac these days, and I was thinking with a
bit of nostalgia of my first ADSL "high speed" 512k internet access.
That was a quasi-miracle then after the 33.6k (56k never worked really)
dial-up modems. Well, not enough for flac with best compression and now
I'm streaming multiple flac while rest of the home is watching Netflix.
I'm not comparing the 60's and Y2K but just a short 15 years period.

Anyway...

NB: what's unfortunate on my SB's is that the miniPCI board they are
using is 802.11g. Anybody have heard of a 802.11n card that would be
compatible? Even if the throughput between card and main board is the
same, it's would just free up some RF timeslots.

Well, normally it should stop (or power off layer in LMS, depending what
you have set) but that assumes that the player issues a DMCP command
"device-prevent-playback=1". If not, then either it does not behaves as
expected or sends another command. If you have set all log levels to
info (in the plugin's settting page, not in LMS's logging page) then the
raopbridge log should tell me if such command is sent or not (log will
say []: remote command x)

I'm not sure if this is the reason why but LMS has volume 0..100 and
that might explain the difference. I don't remember exactly the details
(I know it sounds funny) but I've made various options to tweak max
volume and response curve. You can have a look at the doc and maybe
you'll find something that suits you.

The OP example shows "cat" of a file with WAV header. If OP needs a WAV

It is just perfect! Everything works A OK. Many Thanks!

I noticed a small oddity and to be honest, it is nothing. But it bugs me
for whatever reason.

course the volume is also shown in roon remotes.
> On changes both volume levels are kept in sync in real time with the 2

squeezeupnp config file

But, for whatever reason there is always a 1 point level difference
between the volume in roon and the volume displayed by the amp. ex Roon
report vol 20, The Hegel amp will be at vol 19.
I am not sure if it is roon related (seems the max level reported to
roon is 100 instead of 99j) or something to adjust in the script config

That is the first type I see that (with bubbleupnp volume are exactly
the same). So any clue would be welcome.

I have no idea on this Serge.

Perhaps you can check the server log when it happens; that's Settings >

And a couple of sample tracks would help others try to replicate the
problem.

I've installed LMS 8.1 and added my new Spotify ID but it's still
skipping on long tracks. LMS is on a W10 laptop, and I'm controlling it
through Soundicity on a W10 tablet.

Works fine on music files stored on the laptop, for streaming from BBC,
other internet radio stations and Radio Paradise. It only misbehaves on
Spotify and on long tracks, and not every time, but perhaps 80% of the
time.

Really annoying!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages

2020-12-08 Thread pinkdot

Synology released their beta version of DSM7.0 today. This is good and
bad news at the same time. The good news is that your Syno will receive
the long waited update to DSM7.0!
The bad news is that (as expected) Synology updated Perl from 5.24 to
5.28, meaning that running LMS with the current LmsUpdate packages is
not possible, and updating CPAN (part of LMS) to 5.28 also very
unlikely. It's atleast a task I'm not going to take on.

So, I'm sorry to say: but it ends here for me. (You might see 1 more
update before christmas.)

Thanks for your support and feedback over the years. Please keep using
LMS in whatever form there is available, and keep enjoying your music!

Greetings,

Martin

Old thread, but it saved me!

I am a Squeezebox user all the way back to the SB2 and therefore also a
user of Spotty since day 0. I have experienced verand experience few
problems with it. Then last week it suddenly gave up on me. A
non-responsive Orange Squeeze, and also not working via the LMS web
interface. So I updated LMS (on a Synology NAS). I updated the Spotty
plug-in. I deleted the approved accounts. I re-added my account. I
generated (although I never needed that before) a Spotify Client ID. All
this to no avail. Spotty still refused to function. After inspection the
log files I saw that Spotty kept complaining :
"Plugins::Spotty::API::Token::_killTokenHelper (179) Timed out waiting
for a token"

Then I read this thread. And stumbled upon the mysterious healing powers
of 2.4GHz. In my situation there is no wireless between my NAS and my
network. However, it made me realize that the problem might be somewhere
in my local network. My entire network is IPv6 capable, all the way to
the internet. And instead of peace it gave me headaches before. So I
switched IPv6 off on my NAS. And lo and behold, Spotty started working
again immediately. Flawlessly. No more timed out tokens.

So don't ask me why this was no problem before. And don't ask me why I
still try to have an IPv6 compliant network. I have no idea. I do know
that I am a very happy user of Squeezebox/LMS/Spotty again. Also because
I fixed it again my daughter thinks I' god, at least for today :-)

And who knows, maybe this helps someone else.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem picore player in combination with lms 8.0 november

2020-12-08 Thread Leonardus1

Hi,
First of all my excuses form my bad English.
Until the end of october I did not have problems (using lms version 8.0)
The beginning of november I updated lms. After this I could, play
everything except high definition audio from qobuz. (using allo digione
with spdf/BNC connection.) Only noise!!
Playing Qobuz using usb connection no problem. Playing high def audio
from my nas no problem(using allo digione with spdf/BNC )
Using lms version 7.9.4 or 7.9.3 or 8.0 before november no problems.
So, after update lms 8.0 in november the problem started only with
using Qobuz high def audio in combination with picore player with allo
digione.(or hifiberry digipro)
Nas music no problem.
After this I tried squeezelite player with allo digione from max2play.
No probleem at all!!.
Other players (transporter/squeezebox) no problems
I only have problems using Qobuz high definition audio in combination
with lms 8.0 after november update, in combination .with picore player
with allo digione (or with hifiberry digi pro) with spdf/BNC out.
Now I use lms version 7.9.4 and I have no problems at all.
What can I do to use the latest lms version (8.0/8.1) without problems
with qobuz high definition audio and picore player with allo digione?

Well, theres more problems than 44khz. It started acting wired with othr

44khz and its ok. Next time it doesnt work. Its sends the stream and
UPAA receives it but sometimes it plays sometimes dont.
Now i activate trasncode for Flac and its more stable. Not so much
errors.

Has anyone tries the bridge with USB Audio Player Pro android app? For
me, its the only app for android that sends the correct sample rate for
my USB DAC. All other app (Bubble upnp, Jellyfin, etc) gives me a fixed
rate of 192khz or 48khz.
UAPP nails it everytime. Do you guys know any other app for android that
works well with the bridge and outputs the correct sample rate?

Thank you guys.

I have to agree to mordac. I'm also on version 0.126.2. Unfortunately it
doesn't play any songs anymore and I get the error in the log. Still, I
have to admit that I already had the problem with version 0.126.1
yesterday.

Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::__ANON__ (422) no stream/DASH found

Unfortunately, clearing the cache on page 99 did not work.

Nevertheless, I would also like to thank you, because the plugin is
really a masterpiece (even if there are sometimes problems with
playback)

IIRC what is saved is a PCM stream. You need add a WAV header to tell
any player the format of the PCM stream such as sample rate , sample
size, endian, signed/unsiged etc.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezelite output to file for snapcast

2020-12-08 Thread gekoch

I'm currently running a snapserver which plays the files that are stored
in the /tmp/snapfifo file.
So you can
Code:

cat someWaveFile.wav > /tmp/snapfifo

and then it plays the song to all snapcast clients that are currently
connect to this server.

I tried:
Code:

squeezelite -o - > /tmp/snapfifo

but I only got some noise while playing a song through LMS

Has someone already got this working?

If you can, somehow, change the 'playlist_timestamp' in the status
message then Material (and probably others) will update the current play
list (queue).

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
(Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update
messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open
console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS
will be logged here.

Correct, it has no connection with the BBC Iplayer plugin. But it is
good to have choice.

Yes, it chooses the highest bitrate available. Which is usually 320kbps
in the UK and 96kbps outside the uk.

Refresh your browser and it would show it. :)

The first time it asks for the meta data for an item in the playlist,
the plugin goes off to the BBC to ask for it, once it has it, it saves
it. If I told it to wait until the BBC has returned it then I cold
potentially block the whole of your LMS until it arrives.
Its just the browser controllers aren't asking again for the meta data
on that item until you update the playlist (by adding something, or
refresh the browser)

There is probably something I should be doing to tell it to to update
meta data on the items in the playlist once the data arrives, as other
plugins don't have this problem, I'll have a look.

Now that BBC Sounds plugin has matured a little and I believe is no

It's ... almost ... fixed. The last item in the playlist still doesn't
show its info or thumbnail.

32463

This applies even with a one item playlist where the info shows in the
now playing area but not in the playlist below.

It smells a bit of a for loop conditional using '<' rather then '<=' but
what do I know?
