Using Material Skin, is there a reason why in the alphabetical order sometimes letters are missing? I refer to the vertical list of letters that appears to the left of a list of artists, for instance. In the default artists list I miss the letter L. In a custom artist list I miss the letter M. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hello, FYI, in Squeezelite-X with Material Skin, two screens appear without taking into account the regional settings of the PC: the "radio" menu and the screen saver. Yes it could be great to keep trying indefinitely If it make a little CPU consumption it will probably not a problem to extend the delay between 2 retry (30 seconds is probably good for everyone ?). Or it can be a new setting in options ? or in the config file ? I just uploaded another bug fix, version 2.6.27. Changes: - Fix bug where title bar buttons could be missing or not located properly. In a multiple monitor case where monitors have different DPI settings and SLX starts up in a HiDPI monitor, the title bar buttons could be missing depending on the SLX window startup width. Any thoughts? The imbedded player, squeezelite, will prevent sleep if it is playing anything or if it has an output device open. Squeezelite-X will generally includes a squeezelite command line parameter "-C 60" that tells squeezelite to close its output device if idle for 60 seconds. Without that squeezelite's default is to keep its output device open as long as the player is "on". You can check your squeezelite player parameters and see if -C 60 is there. If not, add it. Other than that I don't know of anything that will make SQL keep your computer from sleeping. Is it a known issue with the package installed (not-the windows store aspx, but exe) version of Squeezelite-x that would prevent the machine from entering sleep mode, or have I managed to dive into yet another un-reproducable glitch? Squeezelite running- no sleepy - shut it down - computer sleeps normally. The "prevent sleep if player is turned on" in the LMS prevent standby plugin is un-ticked and the timer for the same is reduced to 3 minutes, so that plugin is not the culprit (al least when Squeezelight is not running). Maybe I should try it with just Squeezelight running and LMS shut down to see if it is the interactivity between them and not just the Squeezelite.exe program (I'm too old to say app). Any thoughts? I too use max2play on a pi as server and am very interested. As an alternative is there some other way of transcoding using c3PO? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
The newest version of squeezelite-win.exe (1.9.7-1259) now has 32-bit and 64-bit versions and other improvements, but does not support the Windows Media format. This is not an issue if your LMS server is configured to play WMA files (e.g. hosting LMS on Windows or using bps's Play WMA plugin), at least as I understand it. ralphy (squeezelite-win author) is telling me that version 1.9.6-1210 is all there will be going forward for WMA support in squeezelite due to old code issues, since he has upgraded his development system and libraries. As for me, configuring my LMS server running on a Max2Play R-Pi using bpa's plugin has been a failure. bpa's Play WMA plugin requires mplayer-nogui to be installed on the R-Pi and I am unable to do that. ralphy suggested I install ffmpeg on the pi and then use a custom .conf file to let ffmpeg convert, but I have been unable to get that to work either. So this appears hard in some cases. (My windows server works just fine, btw.) Since SLX is supposed to be "easy" and, after all, is a Windows Store app, playing WMA files should be easy. So what to do? I could just stay on 1.9.6-1210 forever. Or, I could integrate both 1.9.6-1210 and whatever the newest version is and let the operator select. 30665 Not sure I like this approach all that much, though I do have it working. All the buttons in the the title bar use a font called IonIcons (except the Maximize/Restore button, which uses Marlett). The IonIcons font is loaded/unloaded dynamically if not already on your system. The IonIcons font is not, by default, already included in Windows 10. The Marlett font is, by default, part of Windows 10, so SLX does not dynamically load its own version. I have not seen this reported anywhere else and I have not been able to reproduce it. It seems to me that even if you have different version of those fonts somehow loaded on your system you would at least see a square or something. You are saying SLX hangs ("Not Responding")? Do you have to shut it down using Task Manager? Can you enable log file (Ctrl-Shift-D) and see what it says when this occurs? Which Skin are you using? I'm wondering if LMS is taking a long time to respond while it waits for its drives to spin up and that may be causing an issue. Not sure what is going on here. So, I added a line of code to enable keep alive on the telnet socket binding and I never saw it again, so figured that was that. After your post I decided to look into that keep alive function call. And digging into how Windows works, I have determined that that the keepalive call basically expires after a couple of hours (Based on a system wide Registry setting and two hours is default for Windows). So I am guessing your SLX was basically idle for longer than that, maybe twice as long as that. In any case, I'll modify the code to prevent it from expiring (by re-calling the keep-alive function periodically) and we'll see if that solves the issue. "I really like using the log window." - I can't say I ever expected to read something like that, haha :) The reasons I can think of for that is that (1) nothing is happening so nothing to log, or (2) The Telnet connection dropped, or (3) some unknown bug in the logging code (1) OK, I'll rule out this out. But SLX uses Telnet primarily to enable the media keys and monitor for certain events like play name changes, new track info for notifications, get server status, get a list of connected players and stuff like that. So if none of that is going on, you won't see anything. Also, you won't see there anything the browser/skin is doing. (2) Do you see any indication in the log, such as "Telnet disconnected". If the telnet connection is being dropped, then certain other functions, like media keys would stop functioning. If this happens again, look for telnet disconnected and see if media keys are still working. Then again, the telnet connection is checked every few seconds and it should automatically reconnect, so I don't know if this is it either. I do have a telnet keep-alive thing going on, but maybe I don't have the time value set right for all circumstances. How long has SLX been running when it seems to stop showing CLI commands? Maybe I need to shorten the keep-alive interval. (3) It is interesting that changing debug level gets the messages to come back. I suppose there could be a bug in there where a proposed log event is sent, but not logged depending on the log level. I can look there and re-check that code, but I have never seen this. I had to turn off the hi-res option when playing from the Qobuz Win app to JRiver MC WDM, as switching sample rate would cause stuttering playback; indeed it rarely if ever played non-44.1kHz material properly. A few days ago I decided to try upsampling everything to 176.4kHz, and the easiest way to do that would be to play via Squeezelite-X and use SOX. However, it turned out that Squeezelite-X played to the JRiver WDM perfectly, with no stuttering at all, so I didn't need to go the SOX route at all. Sample rate changes result in a slight click occasionally, but often nothing, and it's near instantaneous. I know it's working as the JRiver DSP engine reports the incoming sample rate. So now, finally, I can play hi-res from any source and have JRiver do the DSP I need, and it just works. I have no explanation for why the others did not work. (One final note: I use ASIO, rather than WASAPI, but it's exclusive use and bit perfect. I'm also using an external USB sound card rather than the internal one.) Hello Team. Just subscribed to this forum and have had difficulty in verifying my ID. Anyway: Lastest Squeezelite-X 2.6.21 has exhibited a problem (where no problems before). Playing local network content from LMS 7.9.2 on Readynas (Debian) files will play for a random period (3 minutes, 20 seconds before the end) and then playback will pause. I note one thread on my Ryzen 1700x then shoots to 100% CPU usage for 10-20seconds, then magically goes back to 1% and playback finishes. It is random - does it 3 tracks in a row, then none for a track or 2, then 5 in a row etc. Doesn't do this with Spotty/Spotify streaming, just local MP3 content. What can I do to assist in tracking down the cause of this issue? Thanks. First of all, let me say great app! Now, here's my issue. :P I'm unable to output from Squeezelite-X to the Jriver WDM driver in WASAPI mode. It works fine in DirectSound or MME mode, but obviously those don't allow exclusive access. Foobar2000 has no problem controlling the Jriver WDM WASAPI driver, so it appears to be working fine. I'm able to use Foobar2000 as a DLNA renderer from LMS and then output to the Jriver driver, but this is a little... inelegant. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Hello I recently started using Squeezelite-X on my Windows10 workstation instead of the standard LMS webUI, it does wonders: faster, visually more effective and informative, great interface, thank you ! I seem to observe a glitch in the main SLX menu, regarding the way SLX reflects the LMS plug-in settings for "*Additional Browse modes*" , and unticked the "Compilations" and "Random Albums" boxes. However, contrary to other interfaces I also use (e.g. OrangeSqueeze on Android), SqueezeLiteX doesn't reflect these settings, and keeps displaying Compilations and Random Albums . My "Composer" mode is not listed in the main menu, contrary to other additional modes I have also set up (1 of which based on ALBUMARTIST, 2 of which based on specific GENREs in album view). Is this refusal to acknowledge the COMPOSER tag, and mishandling of optional views, a known limitation of SLX, or did I do smthg wrong ? Please help if you've encountered a similar minor issue ! I'm thinking that SLX should default it player Output Device to "Primary Sound Driver" instead of PortAudio's default. That way, SLX's default behavior would be to use the sound device you have selected in Windows. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Just submitted version 2.6.21 to the store. Changes: - Version update of Chromium library. - Tweaks/fix to SLX's handling of minibrowser to work with Material Skin's new color themes. - SLX will default the -M (Player Model) switch to set it to "Squeezelite-X". This had been removed a long time ago due to issues that ickStream had with it, but ickStream is gone, so I have added this back. This will allow Material Skin to use particular player icon for SLX players. -M can be overriden by specifying the -M switch if some other plugin has a problem not recognizing "Squeezelite-X" - R Greg Dawson Squeezelite-X rgdawson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65236 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Well, in that case, I guess this is not a problem any longer. :) So, I'll have SLX default to Player Model of "Squeezelite-X". If someone has a problem with something similar to whatever ickStream's problem was they will me able to override the -M switch by specifying it themselves. I'm assuming you already/also will handle squeezelite's own default of "SqueezeLite" for those that run it independently. I'm thinking the icon would look the same as the one you have for SqueezeLite, but a different color? Or a Windows Icon? Or are you even using colors? I don't know. I'll think on that. I believe that squeezelite sets Player Model to 'SqueezeLite'. At one time, SLX would use the -M switch and set Player Model to Squeezlite-X (-M Squeezelite-X), but a user reported that it caused the ickStream plugin to consider it unsupported (see post #489), so I removed it, and let it go with 'SqueezeLite'. If I used the -M option to set Player Model to 'SqueezeLiteWin' I expect that ickStream will not work with it, as it apparently used that value to determine if the player is supported by ickStream. Seems like ickStream should be using the Player Type, but it apparently uses Player Model. So that is my problem. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
For a future, 1.7, release of Material I want to show icons for the various players. Would it be possible for Squeezelite-X to set the modelname of its squeezlite instance to SqueezeLiteWin? You can do this via the "-M" commandline argument (e.g. "-M SqueezeLiteWin"). Doing so would allow me to show a windows icon for this player instance. The squeezelite player software uses the portaudio library to select an output device. If none is selected you get "default" according to portaudio. If you select 'Default' in SLX, then I just don't specify the -o squeezelite option, so you get its default. The portaudio library and thus squeezelite's default is not what you have selected as your Windows default device. You get a lowest common denominator that is not likely to be the best one. On my machine, choosing Default gets me the old MME API, not DirectSound or WASAPI, etc. So, I recommend that you choose the device you want and the API you want rather than choose Default. On my machine, the DirectSound API provides the best quality it seems to me. I'm not sure what it looks like on your machine, but on my machine I see an output device called "Primary Sound Driver (Windows DirectSound)". I have been assuming that this is the equivalent of the Primary Sound as you have defined it in Windows. You might try that if your goal is to use the primary sound driver you have defined in windows. I have thought about it, but at the time it seemed like too much trouble. I could not even figure out how to set up one of my LMS servers that way. My servers run on R-Pi's using Max2Play to manage everything on the server. Squeezelite-X uses the LMS Telnet protocol for monitoring server events and some commanding. That is probably all clear text anyway. My stuff is all on my local network, not visible to the outside world and nothing else is on my R-Pi except LMS server, so I guess it is about as vulnerable as my Denon Receiver. I'm not worried about it being vulnerable. But I am worried about Squeezelite-X not running on a server configured with TLS, so I would like to solve that, because other people have this need. Maybe you can help me configure one of my LMS servers to run that way. I have one on Windows and a couple on R-Pi's. That way I could modify and test Squeezelite-X to work on such. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Hi there, Like another poster from the last page, I installed Squeezelite-X and it connected and functioned perfectly until a restart. LMS is running on another computer (Linux) without issue. Since restarting my Squeezelite-X PC, any time I try to connect to LMS I get "Login Failed - Check Username/Password". LMS does not have any password set, and adding one does not change anything. I can manually run squeezelite from command line and it connects and plays music just fine, but Squeezelite-X continues to refuse to connect. I have tried referring to the LMS host by hostname and by IP address with no change. Any suggestions? Also, for the life of me I cannot get the media keys on my keyboard to be registered by Squeezelite-X when it was connecting to the server. The keyboard is a Logitech G15, and the media keys work in other applications without issue. Squeezelite-X just doesn't appear to see them whatsoever. I have Media Key Integration set to Automatic as is the default, any suggestions? daPyr0x's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70217 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

OK, gotcha. Yes, I think the issue is that LMS need to get going first, so you need to delay the startup of Squeezelite-X. Squeezelite-X has an autostarter application that runs on startup, checks to see if the autostart option is set, and if so it starts Squeezelite-X. That is the thing that needs to be delayed. There are various utilities that do this sort of thing. You may also choose to use the lagacy installer, the non-Windows Store version. It id pretty much identacle, but has a traditional installer (that requires admin privileges to install.) One difference is that the autostarter app is located in the Startup folder in the legacy installer and it is located in the application folder for the MS Store version (which you do not have access to). Without the MS Store on your device, you are not getting any automatic updates anyway. It might end up being easier with the legacy installer. But, at the end of the day, you have diagnosed the problem correctly. LMS must be up and running or it won't respond to discovery protocols or telnet connections, or anything, obviously. Oh yah, this thread is active. What is your LMS running on, is it on a separate machine? (I'm wondering what you mean be needed LMS needing to get its ducks in a row, is that because it is starting up on the same machine?) I don't know if it matters, but 7.7.6 seems old as most folks seem to be using 7.9.x. When you say "it" was installed via Powershell, are you referring to LMS or Squeezelite-X? If you disable Squeezelite-X AutoStart Option and just wait for the machine to start, maybe wait another minute, does it work OK? Is the problem on when Squeezelite-X is auto-starting? Is it truly starting up the machine or is waking from sleep an issue? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
I dont know how to start a new thread, first time forum user so apologies if I am interrupting someone else. If anyone is still responding to posts on this app, here goes. Brand new install of LMS 7.7.6 I installed the squeezelite-x app and it works like a charm. For a day, maybe 2, then when you start the machine up it comes up "connection refused" Nothing I can do gets it to start up without user intervention (hitting "apply" in the settings panel). Once you hit apply it works just fine but it will not successfully start by itself, connection refused every time, until you uninstall the app, then it works fine again for a day or 2 then round and round we go. Any Ideas? It's enables to do anything it wants in firewall, so that shouldn't be the problem , more likely it is trying to connect before LMS has a chance to get its ducks in a row, then gives up, but I dunno. portaudio doesn't like my Elgato hdmi video/sound capture device. I thought I had tried that already, but repeated to be sure. Unfortunately I get the same result as originally reported - APPCRASH with portaudio_x64.dll as faulting module. Any other suggestions please? vlgindeed's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70202 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
