CS>[List Owner] Silliness...

2010-01-14 Thread M. G. Devour
The whole silly micro-debate over wattage evolved from this simple mis-
statement by Sunny...

> Is that 2 watts an hour?   sounds great!

Trem had answered:
> 2 WATTS

Sunny previously asked:
>> Does anyone know how many watts a silver gen or similar might use.
>> We are moving off grid ... getting a solar panel of 100 watts

All that was needed was to address her actual question:

Sunny,

There's no time involved with wattage. Something that draws 2 watts
from your solar panel will do so all the while it's connected. So if
you're adding up possible peak loads for your 100 watt collector, just
add the wattage figures for everything you might want to run AT THE
SAME TIME to get a *ROUGH* idea of if it will handle it.

Now, there is something called a watt-hour, which is probably where
your confusion came from. Watt-hours are the wattage rating of a device
times the number of hours you run it. A 100 watt load running for an
hour will consume a total of 100 watt-hours of energy. A 500 watt load
will use the same amount of total energy in only 1/5th of an hour, or
12 minutes... but it'd also try to pull more power all at once than
your 100 W collector can provide... so that doesn't work too well.

There is an easy way to fix the problem:

While you're studying all this, you should consider getting a separate
battery and some kind of charger-controller so you can store up some of
the power from the solar panel to use at night without running the risk
of depleting your RV cranking battery.

It also lets you handle higher peak loads -- like the aforementioned
500 watt blow-dryer? -- without having to get a much bigger
solar panel, *and* let you run them when there's no sun.

If you're able to pull 100 watts from your panel over an average of 8
hours a day, you've got an "energy budget" of 8 hours x 100 watts or
800 watt hours. If you want to run a 500 watt load for an hour each
day, you'll see that you're going to use up 500 of your 800 available
watt-hours. Do-able, but maybe not sustainable? Then again, maybe
important enough, especially if the remaining 300 watt-hours will take
care of everything else you need.

It's not hard to learn how to figure this stuff out. Once you get the
hang of figuring out your energy budget and the difference between watt-
hours and watts, you'll be able to estimate these things in your head.

Trem's 2 watts is NOT a big worry for you, obviously!

You'll want most of your equipment to be 12 volt, but you're going to
need 110-volt AC for some things, at least occasionally. You'll need a
power inverter for this, and the size of load it can handle will be
limited by the battery, not by the collector.

There are lots of clever ways to hook things up, all of which will be
talked about in the RV community as well as among boaters. You'll still
want to be frugal, but you've got a lot more flexibility this way. The
lifestyle can be pretty pleasant.

Good luck

Bob Berger, sadly now deceased, was one of our long-time contributors.
One of those contributions was his study of storage materials and
methods. He concluded that one of the most cost-effective yet effective
options was the PETE (recycling code 1) clear, hard plastic bottles
used to deliver soda pop.

Additionally, he and others here have, as a test, stored properly made
CS (EIS) in clear bottles exposed to bright light and even direct
sunlight, and seen no measurable degradation of the product over long
periods of time.

Let me address several obvious concerns by describing my own
experience:

I have a 6-pack of bottles I bought probably 8 years ago now that I
store most of my CS in. They originally contained spring water. I chose
that option because people who tried to use soda pop bottles frequenly
complained that it took a long time to completely get rid of the
residual odor and flavoring from the beverage that would then taint
their CS. You can just pour out the bottled water and rinse with
distilled, and there will be no odor or flavor problems.

Now, there are the remaining concerns of plasticisers leaching into the
stored CS and the plastic surface disrupting the silver content.

First off, PETE-1, as found in these beverage bottles, is about as good
a plastic as you're going to find for this application. Perfect? NO!
But it's one of the least contaminating formulations available at
reasonable cost.

Now, John, someone like you, who has achieved a very high standard of
cleanliness in their environment, may certainly choose not to use them,
on principle if nothing else. That's fine. However, if you're still
coping with far more gross sources of environmental toxins, as I am, it
is nowhere near as urgent.

But there's more...

The first few times you put some silver in these bottles, some of it
undoubtedly plates out on the inside. After a while, however, the
surface seems to stabilize. These bottles have been in use, as I said,
for years, and I have never made any effort to clean them out. I can
say without doubt that the discoloration caused by the plated out
silver does not change over time at this point, and that the product
that comes out of them is the same as what went in days, weeks, and
sometimes months before -- in terms of measured conductivity, taste,
tyndall effect, and effectiveness.

That's not bulletproof evidence, but it's good enough for me.

I suspect that the stabilization of the surface also applies to
plasticiser leaching, but I cannot address that in any meaningful way
for the simple reason that there has been no noticeable smell or taste
from this particular plastic at any time.

Finally, on the matter of storage conditions: My CS sits on the desk in
my office, exposed to artificial lighting and diffuse daylight. No
noticeable problems result, in my experience.

Again, I won't stand in anybody's way that wants to be more cautious.
In your case, John, keep using glass, since you've managed to get your
environment sorted out so very well any such compromise would be silly
on your part. Please realize, though, that judicious use of the right
plastic can be *enough* better than the worst case that it is a
practical option, depending on individual circumstances. If that makes
it easier for somebody to get started and keep making CS, then it's a
reasonable trade.

I think it's a question of not letting the perfect be an obstacle to
the good.

Thanks for your input, sir. You're experiences and protocols are an
inspiration and there's a lot we can learn from you.

Peace,

Mike D.

You're right, of course, Annie. The only drawback I ever saw in them
was the tendency of the lids to eventually rust on the inside.

My home-made generator sits on a quart mason jar as we speak!

I like the plastic bottles for storage since they're light weight and
won't break. They travel well.

Calm down folks. Steve Barwick/Spencer Jones (same guy) is not a
reliable source of news about CS. He writes a lot of scaremongering
rubbish, probably with the aim of boosting sales of his second rate
generators. Europe hasn't banned the sale of colloidal silver
although thats what Barwick/Jones wants you to believe. They have
just banned anyone from making the claim that CS is a nutritional
supplement. Big deal. A similar thing happened in the US and
Australia years ago when they banned companies from making all sorts
of unsubstantiated claims about CS. Put simply they are just banning
misleading advertising - and thats fair enough.

Barwick/Jones website is full of junk science, and outright BS. He
claims his totally ordinary generator is the 'worlds finest' and is
the 'most popular', 'biggest selling' generator in the world. I'd
like to know how he works that out. I'm sure Ode and Trem don't send

Hey, Dee:

Ha... Ha... I said it's *the only way I will store my CS.* What others do
is their business. I don't trust plastics in any form or or matter and I do
not use them - but that's just me... what others do, they do. So be it.

My basic stance in life that if someone makes an unsubstantiated claim, I can

There are some very fervent and sincere people on the internet pushing the

When someone says they drank colloidal silver and got blue moons, I don't

My daughter, my wife and I all have developed the gray moons. None of

We all developed them at the same time, when I switched from 5 ppm CS to
20 ppm CS. The darkness of the moons is proportional to the amount of
CS ingested by each of us. Once we stopped taking CS daily, the
progression of the moons stopped for each of us. The 5 ppm CS was made
by the HVAC method, the 20 by the LVDC method. The LVDC used distilled
water, less than 1 mA per square inch of anode, stirring and polarity
switching. It is pretty well what most here are making, although likely
a higher ppm than most. Also the moons are not blue, they are really
slate gray, and the only thing I can find that slate gray moons indicate
is silver accumulation.

The moons are gray. Initially only the moons were grey, starting at the
root and progressing out. Over time it progressed until the gray
actually now extends past the moons. The color is different though
because the moons are pure gray, but outside the moons you have the pink
underlaying the area so it appears more purplish..

The graying on my children's and wife's nails is totally within the
moons. It starts at the root of the nail and progresses out toward the
edge of the moon, and eventually outside the moon over time. There does
not seem to be a significant amount of drop off in the coloring from the
root to the edge of the coloring where it simply suddenly disappears.
Even now on her smaller fingers only the root side of the moon on my
wife's fingers are colored. When it first appears it will actually be
under the cuticle and slowly progress out from there.

My daughter, my wife and I all have developed the gray moons. None of
use use alcohol or illegal drugs or anything else out of the ordinary.

Also the moons are not blue, they are really
slate gray, and the only thing I can find that slate gray moons indicate

is silver accumulation.

have you experienced this problem with?

Marshall

I think it depends on the kind of EIS you make: metallic/ionic.

I make it with the HVAC method.
Some time ago I used very good distilled water such that the electrodes
pull up a water cone at the beginning. The glass beaker in which I brew
the CS became slowly a metallic deposit over the months. Also an old
CocaCola bottle became slowly metallic black.

Now my distilled water is worse. The cones are negligible. I generate
thus almost only ionic silver. The beakers and the bottles stay clear
for glass and plastic as well.

I think an ionic silver solution is not very sensitive.

Thanks for the info Larry. Wow, what great results! I started nebulizing
Utopia Naturals Ionic Silver (20 ppm) twice a day a few days ago and it seemed
to help at first but today I'm a little worse again. I'm nebulizing about 3 mL
twice a day.

I can't really see myself making cs at this point in my life. Is your silver
ionic or colloidal? How many ppm? What kind of nebulizer did you use?

Maybe I should also spray some in my throat and up my nose and take internally.

I believe that inflammation from a gall bladder infection caused the breakdown
of my health over the last few months. Have adrenal fatigue, too and now
asthma. I cleared a systemic fungal infection last year with cs, but it had no
effect on the gall bladder infection, finally had to have surgery.

Best, Lisa Marie

This is crazyIt is true too! There is a link at the bottom of
this to the FDA website with the information.
I want my friends and loved ones to know what has happened to me
in hopes that it will never happen to you or anybody you care
   about.

About 10 days ago, I felt a cold coming on; so before I went to
bed I used Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel. It's supposed to help you
"get over your cold faster." Immediately after I sprayed it into
each nostril I felt the most horrific burning sensation
imaginable. It literally felt like I had sprayed pepper spray
directly into my brain. It burned all the way to the top of my
skull. My nasal passages swelled, my eyes watered - the burning
lasted all night long into the next day. After about a day, I
  realized I couldn't taste anything and I thought, "Wow - I must
really have a bad cold." Then I noticed that I couldn't smell
coffee brewing, couldn't smell my perfume when I put it on,
couldn't smell the popcorn I burned, couldn't smell my favorite
candle. I panicked and starting smelling everything that I could
find that had really strong odors - ammonia, finger nail polish
remover, bleach, etc. I couldn't smell ANYTHING! I started tasting
everything that had really strong tastes such as HOT salsa, raw
red onions, Doritos, coffee. I couldn't taste ANYTHING! I told my
mother about this and she said, "Oh, I've heard Zicam can affect
your Olfactory nerve." I went online, typed in "Zicam side
effects" and bam - up popped all sorts of web sites with people
reporting the same thing I experienced. It seems that this past
June, Zicam pulled the swabs for adults and children off the
shelf but not the nasal gel. I went to my ENT and he said the
Zicam had basically "FRIED" my Olfactory nerve and the results are
most likely permanent. He put me on a strong dose of a steroid
called Prednisone in hopes of recovering ANY bit of the nerve
damage but he told me to "take this and pray." He said he had read
about the side effects of Zicam and couldn't believe it is still
on the shelf. It isn't FDA approved. I am taking the Prednisone
and praying but nothing is happening. I LITERALLY CANNOT SMELL OR
TASTE ANYTHING! I can tell if foods are hot or cold, I can tell
the consistency and I can faintly detect if it is salty but that
is it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pass this on to everyone you care
about. I don't want this to happen to ANYONE else!! And if
you have Zicam in your medicine cabinet--THROW IT AWAY! Susan
Please share with everyone you can. Check it out on the link
  below.

CS>Herbal formula for smokers

2010-01-14 Thread Sunwaterclear - Sunny
A friend sent this out as a herbal mix to smoke in place of tobacco... you
might want to pass it on to smoking friends who want to quit..

Smoke in place of tobacco products, in either a pipe or rolled with rolling
papers. It is pleasantly fragrant while burning. Alternatively, brew as you
would customarily prepare any herbal tea and enjoy ... it is pleasantly
flavorful.

* * * * *

Herbal smoking tobacco

Blend equal parts of the following herbs, then store in an airtight glass jar:

Mullein leaf - helps reduce lung inflammation

Damaina - Used for thousands of years in Latin American cultures
ritualistically as a se x ual stimulant. However, Damaina also affects the
nervous system, acting as an anti-depressant, soothing anxiety, nervousness and
mild depression, thus, promoting a general feeling of well-being.

Coltsfoot - cough suppressant

Red Clover - Gives the mix body & a pleasant taste.

Wild Lettuce - The plant is commonly found in southern parts of Europe and the
Caucasus. The history of Wild Lettuce can be traced way back to the ancient
Egyptians. The Egyptian god of fertility, Min, is closely tied to the plant and
he is often depicted holding a rosette of Lactuca Serriola. Many studies of the
medicinal qualities of Wild Lettuce have been made. Several chemicals which
constitute a mild sedative and cough suppressant can be found in the wild
Lactuca species. The two main chemicals are Lactucopicrin and Lactucin.

Ginseng Leaf - acts on nervous system to promote a general feeling of well
being.

CS>A few more questions about CS production

2010-01-14 Thread Sunwaterclear - Sunny
Hey all you health seekers,

I've got a few questions about silver before I buy my machine.. as I'm gonna
get all the associated 'stuff' as well..

1.  STORAGE I'm thinking I should store in glass.  I just washed out a nice
apple juice glass bottle with a handle and thought should the glass be dark, or
can I use clear glass with a covering like tinfoil or black paper round the
outside to keep out the light?

2.  SILVER GEN AND THE JAR TO USE UNDERNEATH IT The silver gen will apparently
output the CS into any jar?   Any recommendations - like mason jars?  I'm
wondering about the sterility of glasses. I don't have a dishwasher.  Is it
important what I wash my glasses in and if so what do you recommend.

3.  SILVER DOSAGE BOTTLES  I want to make this to keep us health and to give
away to women's groups with a view to selling it at half the price of the
cheapest colloidal on the market or exchanging it for other commodities like
honey, food etc.

What kind of bottles would you recommend for this? Any ideas where to get them
and a source of labels ?  I can research this but if you have something just
there and can paste it.. that would save more time.

I use MMS right now and the place we buy from sells it in plastic blue bottles
plus a blue plastic bottle for the citric acid mix.    I bought some silver a
while back at wholefood, silvergenesis, and that was in a blue plastic
bottle.

Is plastic bad in all cases ?  should I seek out glass bottles for portioning
it out.

4. DOSAGE - I want to use silver as a regular daily item in our intake.  Is
this OK? My husband made me laugh saying we might drink a pint of it a day. I
don't think so.  Is there any recommended amount that you'd recommend as a
daily dosage [assuming we're not plagued by a specific ailment in which case I
know you all have lots of ideas on how to use silver that way]

5. WHERE TO BUY Any leads on where to find good bottles, low cost?  I also want
spray bottles, so that I can spray my gums.

6. SILVER TESTING METERS  I hear you all talk about ppm and associated things..
and meters for testing silver. I'd like to do this and be able to say my silver
is of x consistency.   Anyone recommend any good [low cost] meters.

Gosh whatalota questions... so thanks for any suggestions...
I'm excited about this new venture in our lives.. preparing ourselves to
maintain wellness ..

Sunny,

#2 NEVER wash the production or storage vessels with liquid soap or
detergent. They contain surfactant which is very difficult to remove. Rinse
with hot tap water. Do NOT use any vessel that has contained acidic items such
as pickles or tomatoes. The acid is very hard to remove. Use new vwaawls.

I hope this helps you.

CS>[List Owner] Message size reminder...

2010-01-14 Thread M. G. Devour
MaryAnn, Sunny, and Dave D. each just sent a message that (barely)
busted the message size limit for the list, which is 18k bytes.

That amounts to a page or two of fancy formatted text, and up to a
dozen pages or so of plain-text. Add any kind of graphics or
attachments and all bets are off!

The easiest thing to do if a message you post doesn't show up on the
list within a few minutes is to trim some of the quoted text and re-
send. If you're trying to send a message that spreads out over several
pages, then you'll almost certainly need to configure your mailer to
send plain text.

If you don't know how to set your mail system to send plain-text,
usually a quick google search for "plain text" and the name of your e-
mail system or program will pop up instructions within the first few
'hits.'

Let me know if you need assistance.

I usually contact people privately when they do this, but since several
came in at once, I figured I'd make one message that was 3 times longer
and send it to everybody for an educational moment.

Thanks for your patience, all.

Subject: CS>A few more questions about CS production

Hey all you health seekers,

I've got a few questions about silver before I buy my machine.. as I'm
gonna get all the associated 'stuff' as well.

1. STORAGE I'm thinking I should store in glass. I just washed out a nice
apple juice glass bottle with a handle and thought should the glass be dark, or
can I use clear glass with a covering like tinfoil or black paper round the
outside to keep out the light?

2. SILVER GEN AND THE JAR TO USE UNDERNEATH IT The silver gen will
apparently output the CS into any jar? Any recommendations - like mason jars?
I'm wondering about the sterility of glasses. I don't have a dishwasher. Is
it important what I wash my glasses in and if so what do you recommend.

3. SILVER DOSAGE BOTTLES I want to make this to keep us health and to
give away to women's groups with a view to selling it at half the price of the
cheapest colloidal on the market or exchanging it for other commodities like
honey, food etc.

What kind of bottles would you recommend for this? Any ideas where to get
them and a source of labels ? I can research this but if you have something
just there and can paste it.. that would save more time.

I use MMS right now and the place we buy from sells it in plastic blue
bottles plus a blue plastic bottle for the citric acid mix.I bought some
silver a while back at wholefood, silvergenesis, and that was in a blue plastic
bottle.

Is plastic bad in all cases ? should I seek out glass bottles for
portioning it out.

I also
want spray bottles, so that I can spray my gums.

6. SILVER TESTING METERS I hear you all talk about ppm and associated
things.. and meters for testing silver. I'd like to do this and be able to say
my silver is of x consistency. Anyone recommend any good [low cost] meters.

Gosh whatalota questions... so thanks for any suggestions...
I'm excited about this new venture in our lives.. preparing ourselves to
maintain wellness ..

A peek into our world...

Hey all you health seekers,

I've got a few questions about silver before I buy my machine.. as I'm gonna
get all the associated 'stuff' as well.
-A stirring method is a must for me if producing anything over 250-300ml. You
can make your own magnetic stirrer, and the stirrer bars as well if you don't
want to spend a couple of bucks on buying some.

1. STORAGE I'm thinking I should store in glass. I just washed out a nice
apple juice glass bottle with a handle and thought should the glass be dark, or
can I use clear glass with a covering like tinfoil or black paper round the
outside to keep out the light?
-I just use clear glass storage vessels which have a rubber seal but I think
the metal lid itself is polished stainless steel, or praps aluminium, and stick
them in a cupboard, ensuring I don't splash the stuff up on the lids. If
travelling I use one of those clear plastic pump bottles you buy water in.

-I don't wash any containers out, just wipe them out with a paper towel,
definitely NO soap etc.

3. SILVER DOSAGE BOTTLES I want to make this to keep us health and to give
away to women's groups with a view to selling it at half the price of the
cheapest colloidal on the market or exchanging it for other commodities like
honey, food etc.

daily dosage [assuming we're not plagued by a specific ailment in which case I
know you all have lots of ideas on how to use silver that way]
-Haven't a clue about any 'recommended' amount, I ingest around 30ml every
morning {uS/ppm reading dependant} as a daily maintenance thing.

-Well, here's one question which will draw some responses I'm sure .
I use the COM100, the COM3 and a Hanna TDS3 and my records show they're all as
near as damn it as far as I'm concerned, none of them are accurate but are all
*inaccurate* to a similar degree or tolerance, laboratory analysis will in all
likelyhood show you'll have more than they'll indicate anyway. Choice is
yours, they'll all get you in the ballpark, any more precise and I believe
laboratory analysis is called for, particularly if considering retail. Meters
are OK for the backyard, but I certainly wouldn't entertain purchasing a
product which has only been tested with a meter...or three, that's why I make
my own EIS, and had several samples of mine laboratory analysed...I don't trust
anyone in this game.

OK, that's my two bobs worth.

2010-01-14 Thread patriot2000

  Re:
CS>Loss of Smell Signals Alzheim  [ arthur rambo
 ]
I have read a number of times in recent years that senior citizens'
ability to smell often decreases, or vanishes altogether.  I also
have read that it may be a precursor to Alzheimers' Disease.  It
can't be helped by CS, but we share so many helpful things on this list
in addition to CS I hope you won't mind my taking up space with the
following.
I was sorry when I realized that my own sense of smell was almost gone,
and sad to miss the delightful aroma of pot roast in the oven or bread
baking, -- and don't get me started about losing the smell of
popcorn!   I counted it among the costs of living into my
seventies, and resolved to watch for signs that might alert me to
approaching Alzheimers'.
Then one day, after receiving chiropractic therapy to my neck for awhile
for some unrelated issues (visual disturbance manifested by a jiggling of
my visual field, and dizziness and unsteadiness of gait), as well as what
the DC called "neurological training" exercises, I was
surprised and delighted to notice that my sense of smell was
returning!   In fact, my partially recovered sense of smell
remained when the other two problems recurred after being off her therapy
and adjustments for a couple of months.
Not long afterwards, I learned quite by accident (one of those little
miraculous "coincidences" I am lucky to experience from time to
time!) about a rare and remarkable kind of therapy that had an almost
instant and long lasting effect on my symptoms after three one-minute
treatments.  It is called NUCCA and deals with the correct alignment
of a very small but critical bone at the base of the skull called the
Atlas.  You can learn more about in on the Internet.  One clear
source of information is here:

http://www.brooksspinalcare.com/nuccaprocedure.html
There are not a lot of NUCCA practitioners around.  I found only two
to choose from in San Diego County, and have been very happy with my
progress under the care of the one I chose.  He also provides
another kind of unusual treatment he calls bio-cranial therapy as a
follow-on, and reports that other patients have told him those simple
manipulations have restored their sense of smell, too!   My
vision and dizziness issues are mostly history, and when I have completed
the series of 11 treatments, I expect those and several other issues
which have shown improvement will be more or less permanently
resolved.  It is so nice to no longer be the "pinball
queen" as my husband jokingly nicknamed me when I used to veer into
door jambs and wobble around, to have a lot more energy to trot around
our hillside streets walking our dogs, to smell the bread baking in my
bread machine upon returning home, not to mention being able to read the
computer screen without having it flicker around as if it were a photo
taken while a tremblor was taking place!
As the website shows you, a NUCCA practitioner can tell almost at a
glance if a patient is a likely candidate for NUCCA:  head canted to
left or right, one shoulder and/or hip lower than the other, and a dead
giveaway:  one leg shorter than the other!  When I read that, I
immediately called my husband and asked him to come and tell me if I had
a short leg, as I lay on the floor with both legs stretched out
straight.  With a straight face, he looked and replied, "You
have TWO short legs!"  Funny man.  (I am five feet
tall!)  Seriously, though, yes, one leg was actually half an inch
shorter than the other!  I made an appointment the next day!
No wonder I responded so positively to the standard NUCCA
manipulation.  NUCCA claims many successes with pains and problems
of all kinds.  Check it out if you are so inclined.  This next
site is a lot more technical in its descriptions, but also provides a
list of many possible problems which have been alleviated by NUCCA
treatments.

http://www.nuccainfo.com/nucca.html
Good luck, and don't forget to stop and smell the roses!
Marlys

4. DOSAGE - I want to use silver as a regular daily item in our intake.  Is

daily dosage [assuming we're not plagued by a specific ailment in which case I
know you all have lots of ideas on how to use silver that way]

Hey all you health seekers,

I've got a few questions about silver before I buy my machine.. as I'm gonna
get all the associated 'stuff' as well.

Re: CS>[List Owner] Message size reminder...

2010-01-14 Thread MaryAnn Helland
Mike?  Mine were one-liners.  Could it be because Sunny's message was included
at the bottom of my remarks to Trem?  And because Sunny's message was long and

Subject: CS>[List Owner] Message size reminder...

I can do that.  (And did, actually).  But had no idea that the quoted text
comprised several pages.  How would one recognize that?

P.S. Glad you were onboard to deal with Larry's remarks.  Holy cow.

Yes, if you put even your one-liner with several pages of quoted text,
the whole package will quickly exceed the limit. I recommend making it
a habit to delete most quoted text and include just enough of the
original to establish the context of your answer.

That happens to my glass brewing jars, over long periods of time

have stored a very high ppm batch I made years and years ago, the
inside of that jar is very yellow.
But I have never seen silver plate out onto the sides of the
plastic jug in which I store finished CS. It doesn't have the same CS
sitting in it very long (week or so maybe) but it has CS in it
constantly. In the 8 years I've been making CS, I've only changed the
jug once, and it had no plate out, but did have a build up of silver
oxide (evaporation) around the spout, which I thought looked ugly, so
I put a new one into use.

CS>washing jars?

2010-01-14 Thread Beth Harrison
Ok, please forgive my ignorance. We do have a dishwasher, and I have been
using quart mason jars,
clean from the dishwasher, dried on high heat, for production of our CSW. Is
this not acceptable?
If not, why not? When it's done, we remove the generator thing and put a lid
on it, and just use
out of it till it's gone. In the meantime, I get a clean jar (also been thru
the DW) out of the cabinet and make
more. If I am doing this wrong, please correct me.

thanks much,
Beth H, still a beginner.

The graying on my children's and wife's nails is totally within the

the coloring from the root to the edge of the coloring where it
simply suddenly disappears.
Even now on her smaller fingers only the root side of the moon on my
wife's fingers are colored. When it first appears it will actually
be under the cuticle and slowly progress out from there.

Marshall,
The color in the moons of my nails appears differently than you
describe. On some fingers the actual moon of the nail is bluish grey,
but in my thumbnails the moon at the cuticle edge is red in a sort of
half circle, then there is a pale grey arc within the moon after the
red, then outside the moon there is a rim of dark slatish and
somewhat even reddish in some lights color that appears to sort of
"feather" outward from the moon edge.
Be glad to send you photos if you would be so kind as to give me
your comments.

thanks,

RE: CS>To believe or not to believe?

2010-01-14 Thread Renee

Lol--I never thought of it that way.

Once I was at an encampment and it was raining. Most everyone was huddled
under trees, umbrellas, hoodies, sitting around campfires. One guy was
walking by our fire, all hunched over, and said "think the rain will hurt
the asparagus?" and kept walking.

One of the guys in our group said back "not if it's in the can".

The first guy did an actual, honest-to-goodness double take. First time I
ever saw that and I laughed, it was so funny. But he said "you are the very
first person ever to have given me the right answer back. That was my Dad's
favorite saying and I've said it to people ever since he's passed away, and
no one answered me right".

I'd never heard the saying, and the guy in our camp said that he'd always
heard "think the rain will hurt the BEANS".

I find sayings fascinating. They are mostly regional, and time sensitive.
