Dear Harsha, You use a multi-metre, analogue or digital to test the conductivity of your water. I suggest analogue at first, although not quite as accurate, less liable to blow a fuse if your water goes off the scale. Re: cs/h2o2
Dear Hamilton, I looked at the site, and they seem to be using 'silver' not CS, in fact an experiment they did with rats and CS is saying that CS is toxic in rats. I can't find where the details of this are documented. They are also using chemical water purifiers. They don't work well enough to brew CS with, and are very expensive. Re: CSWater.
Dear pj, Some trial and error. Start with a pressure cooker and adapt the nipple to fit a copper joining pipe, and then carry this right through to a copper coil. Copper isn't ideal, as it can leach into the water, but this doesn't happen while the steam is creating pressure. When you finish distilling suck the pipe clear, and then spit out the water, don't let it stand or it will contaminate the next batch. We are still looking for an affordable stainless steel coil, and any rubber has drastic results. When you are experimenting with water, it's best to use an analogue multi-metre. The digital ones instantly blow a fuse if your measurement goes off the scale. Analogue ones do eventually if you keep doing it, but tend to be more resilient. It's brewed a lovely clear batch of CS, which tastes a tiny bit different from bought water, but nothing that we can't live with. You can run through a water filter (Kenwood or Britta) at the end, but I didn't find it made any difference. As I started with tap water which is OK to drink anyway, I wasn't too bothered about this. What you get left in the bottom of the boiling pan looks as if it will grow legs and walk away. This is what we are drinking and considered to be pure. I expect it's the chlorine that kills the bugs! Re: CSmicrowave curcuit
Dear Duncan, I was also led to believe that out tap water was 'pure' by the water company. So I hooked my CS LV circuit up to test it with my multimetre. The results were terrible. The reading went off the scale and blew a fuse, and even just touching the electrode with the probe caused a white film to emerge from the silver. Made with pure water my CS is clear, with a lovely after taste, so it makes a pleasant mouth wash. We fared better with spring water, but this was still not pure enough to use for CS. Try buying some pure water, or distilling your own, and then you can compare your batches. CSMRSA.
Hi List, To my horror, my young daughter (21 yrs.) has just informed me that the old people's home, where she works to get some money while at Uni., has two cases of MRSA. The person who runs the home is not taking any precautions at all, with the patients or staff. We know that she should be following M.O.H. guide-lines, but she knows that with two cases she will probably lose her license, and have to close. This person is a nurse, and would not consider CS as a viable treatment, even though we know that MRSA is anti-biotic resistant. Re: CSNational Library as a Resource for Evaluating Alt. Med. Research Results
Hi List, This is quite a depressing post to read here on the CS list. I haven't been using CS for long, but the weeks are passing by, and almost every day I find another use for it, or find something that I can do, such as preservation, that I couldn't do before finding it. I have no interest in the 'official research', wherever it comes from. If something works for me, then that is all the research that I need. I realize that some listers are allergic to some substances, and therefore feel that they need to exercise caution. We are all intelligent enough to know what is the best treatment for ourselves. Think where we would be without so called anecdotal evidence. Most of the herbals wouldn't exist, and we wouldn't know about CS, UT, Natural Progesterone or Energy Healing. I also think that we need to read University research with caution. We have no idea who paid for the research to take place. Very often this is drug companies wanting 'proof' that their molecular concoctions are more efficacious than our home brewed medicines. It is also subtle mind control using fear. A well worn tactic, to make us believe that we are incapable of doing without the medical profession. Hopefully we will not accept this, and continue, here and using our own researches, to remain free spirits, and healthy! Hello Marshall, Aloe Vera is acidic, and CS doesn't like acidic, as you know. I know that I could add bicarb. but that would be an additive. Have you found another way to deal with acid and CS? I would very much like to make a salve, not the gelatin one, but am unable to trace a complete recipe. You don't happen to know what to do with CS/Lecithin/Glycerine etc. do you. Lavender and Calendula are both good skin herbs and are so alkaline that the CS seems to act synergistically, you can even feel the softness of the solution. The added bonus is that I can grow these herbs myself. We have a plant called Sempervirens, which is a succulent the same as Aloe V., which is also a good skin herb, but again acidic. Re: CSBitter tasting CS
Dear Andre, I have not any great experience, but before the experts answer, we think that you should not attempt to drink it. The bitter taste may be from Silver Nitrate or Silver Chloride, which are both toxic. On 26 Aug 2000, at 20:18, olds...@iname.com wrote: I am new to this list and to CS production, I have only been making CS for a few days but have made about 8 - 16 oz. batches with a Silver Pulser purchased from SOTA. No matter what I do my CS has a bitter unpalatable taste, my kids definately won't drink it. The unit I am using has 2 . silver wires spaced at 1.5 inches and uses a constant voltage of about 33 volts at 20 miliamps (max). It must have taken you a long while to make your own distilled water but have you got a pure water tester to check the quality, and did you use your DMM to check that the new water was registering a current of not more than 1mA. I have tried two different distilled waters, one store bought and the other home made. With the homemade a pale yellow color develops after about 20 minutes, it takes about 45 minutes with the store bought. My CS has this awful taste even while the CS is still clear. Initially I was boiling the water before prodution in Stainless Steel, now I am pre-boiling the water in a glass kettle. I have never boiled the water, I use pure water straight from the bottle. Last night I let the production continue to see if I could make a dark golden color. What I ended up with was a murky brown color, not the pictures of the higher ppm colloids I have seen on some of the web sites. Don't let your CS run for longer than 12mA on your meter. This is when mine starts to produce sludge anyway, so I can see as well as read when to stop. My CS is clear when freshly made, and turns to a very, very pale champagne colour overnight. When you take a small amount from the jar it looks clear, and never goes any darker. A dark colour does not mean that there are more ppm in the colloid. I am at odds as to what to try differently next time. Use a laser if you have one, I can't because they are illegal in England, I use a torch. Shine it through your CS in a darkened room. If you see a beam going straight through the jar, then you have a colloid. This is called the Tyndall Effect. Any other solution doesn't do this. Thanks if you might be able to make any suggestions. Try these suggestions, and I'm sure there will be lots more from the long time CS producers. --- Get free personalized email at http://www.iname.com -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Dear Katie, There is not one man made drug that doesn't have side effects, and it bothers me greatly that as a population we are expected to accept these side effects, all because a committee somewhere has decided that these drugs are 'safe'. We at last have the means of taking back the high ground as far as medicines are concerned, which means of course that interested parties will pour forth disinformation as a way of controlling subversive behaviour. I read that if you mix herbs that are acid with CS it rapidly changes colour, through to red. Do you know what is happening here, and does it lose it's preservation properties. Can I expect green stuff. On 17 Aug 2000, at 9:22, Robert L. Berger wrote: Hi Carol; Sounds Great!!! don't worry about the rapid increase of current. Re: CS as a preservative
Dear Ole Bob, We have not been able to source a meter yet (in England), and if we have to send to US it will be some time getting here. So, is there any other way that I can tell the ppm. This is going to be crucial in preserving I think. Given that I have 5ppm, how then can I make it 9ppm, as more time only means larger particles. Re: CS Tech help with CS generator
Dear Beth, I expect one of the experts will pop in here. But we use our meter to test the batteries before use. On 15 Aug 2000, at 21:33, GB Rogers wrote: Thank You Dave, Bob and Ken, Your clear instructions helped me greatly, and both generators are up and running! My family seems to be hit with a mid summer flu type thing, probably the heavy rains alternating with hot and humid weather that we have happening in NY, and we've been using alot of the CS lately. One other question, if I may, I had a couple bulbs (LED I think), one I had attached to the generator I made, I took it off today because it didn't light up real bright as I was making the CS (had to have the lights off and it was barely visible), but when I made a circuit using the generator and clipping the negative wire of the bulb to the positive alligator clip and vice versa for the positive wire, it lit up. I guess it is one that is made for a circuit?? The second one lit up regardless of whether I hooked either wire up to the positive or negative node of a battery, (I even tried it with the three 9v and it worked) so I thought it would work with the generator, but when I soldered it, it was a dead connection, and then failed to work after I took it off so I must have blown the bulb somehow (it was one that my automechanic neighbor gave to me that he took off some gadget or car and both wires were red). I like the idea of a bulb to help me know if the battery needs replacing, but neither kind seemed to work. Any suggestions for future projects? The Radio shack I go to doesn't seem to carry the right bulb that is given in Bob Beck's instructions for building a generator. Again, thank you and many blessings to you! Re: CS Tech help with CS generator
Dear Ole Bob, Thanks for the useful info. Yes, I am checking the current throughout the process. However I cannot tell you when we stopped yet, as we started with 3 batteries, and changed to 2 half way because the current was rising too rapidly. So the next run we shall start with 2 and get more accurate readings. The CS was good though, when we used a torch in the dark we had T.E. and the CS didn't turn yellow overnight. I take it that yellow is not good. On 16 Aug 2000, at 15:59, Robert L. CSpreservation properties
Hi List, Has anyone made herbal preparations and preserved them using CS? After reading those mails about the meat (Yuk!), it occurred to me that other products could be preserved. Re: CSEar infections
Dear Kit, I don't think our American friends can possibly understand how difficult it is to acquire even simple components for our CS. I have found Boots pure water good. However, they only keep it at larger stores, and if you are making a good quantity of CS it's going to get expensive. £3.99 for 5litres. We too are looking to distill our own water, so perhaps we could compare notes. Has anyone made a comment on using 20ppm CS. I'm a newbie, and could be entirely wrong, but I had thought a lower ppm would be better, as the particles are smaller. I'm using it directly into my sinuses, but I can't say I know any more. I hope something works swiftly for your little one. Re: CSSINGING THE BLUES
Hello Mike, Fortunately I hadn't heard of Argyria before learning about CS. But if I had I wouldn't have felt safe enough to confide in our M.D. Your mail answers the questions which are posed by seeing companies offering high ppm CS as if it is an advantage. We were actually trying to work out how to make a high ppm, since when the meter reaches optimum level the CS is ready, and letting it run longer means sludge. So, we don't need to bother now. The other information is useful too. Kind Regards Carol -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CSIntroduction
Hello silver-list, I am joining you because I believe that CS has great potential. We (husband and self) have just made our first CS generator, and are feeling quite proud of our effort. I have a minor niggle which becomes a nuisance when I want to do something physical. My nose runs. This is a sinus problem which the medical profession have failed miserably to address. I have 6 pints of CS, how do I dose myself? I don't know the ppm yet, but it is clear and looks good. Although I have no problems with people who would wish to visit the doctor, I personally don't, and so I am only looking for self-treatment advice. I look forward to knowing you all, and send best wishes from UK. Kind Regards Carol -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Dear Marshall, I think I should take you on a shopping trip in England. I want to cry..If only you knew!!! It took me about 3 weeks to source the silver, another trek to get a meter, and the worse component was 'water'. We had to accept some past its sell by date from Boots which is our biggest pharmacy. We may be fortunate and find that Tandy, which has limited radio Shack components has one. We don't have a RS in Wolverhampton where I am, perhaps there is one in London. No, I'm afraid it will be another search. I know someone living in the wilds of California, with access to a town of 5,000 people who can shop better than we can. RE: CSStandardization (was Spider bites)
Hi Tim, I have found it amazing. For every person who produced CS they have a special way, which produces the best CS. I have used a cold start in a hot bath, a hot start, a luke-warm start and a colloid start. The hot bath means that you don't need to stir so frequently, but I can't see any difference in the other batches. The DMM was great because stopping when 'cooked' was easy. Running too long produced sludging of the electrodes. There is no easy way to measure ppm at home, and I wish that there was. Dear Marsha, That was a lovely thought. I am in fact using a piece of silver, because it was recommended to me from someone who has been making it for some time. (American) You should have seen the faces of people in shops when we told them what we wanted the components for.
