I increase my shelf life on milk by putting CS in the milk.
Normally I do not drink up my milk before it goes bad.
This would be a great way to give CS to anyone.
I just put in an ounce or 2, how much is up to you.
You could put 8 ounce in and whenever the kids drink milk
They would get a dose of CS.

Great idea Bob. I use organic milk it has a longer shelf life than the
other milk. I wonder how much longer it would last with the CS (EIS). Lois

CSGot my silverpuppy CS generator today!!!

2008-05-09 Thread ~ Joanne ~
Hi there,

I am so excited I got my generator today and I am SO IMPRESSED with it!!! I had
purchased one here locally and it was a cheap one for 150.00 The rods were
thin, I could bend them like foil and you wouldn't believe how cheaply made it
was. The fellow I bought it from took it back no problem, which was very nice
of him and then I found the SilverPuppy!

It was shipped on April 30 and today is only the 9th!!! Terrific shipping time
to Canada!!!

I just ordered the TDS COM100 conductivity/PPM meter ...wished I had seen it
when I ordered the SilverPuppy and Laser.

Thank you so much Ken! I am making a batch as we speak!!!

CScan anyone offer help

2002-04-03 Thread Joanne
A friend sent me this letter he received from a friend and asked if anyone over
here might have any suggestions..
Thank you
Joanne

Hey... well, I found out today and its not great but
its not ... well, its not great...
its called synoval sarcoma.
It originates in bone so my fears of it spreading TO
bone was silly because it started there. I'm going to
MD ANDERSON next thurs on the 10th and will go thru
some tests... I know they will test the rest of my
body (mri) to see if its spread and if not (WHICH I'M
REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPING NOT) then we will begin
with an operation.
I will have to have my radius removed as well as much
of my muscle. I spoke with the surgeon about
rebuilding and he didn't look hopeful that it would be
a possibility because of all the nerve damage that
will occur. A numb limb is a useless one and dangerous
to have in many ways... so I will wake up to one of
two scenarios: the most likely is that my arm will be
removed just below or with the elbow, or (unlikely)
will have a skinny sickly scary looking tiny long thin
arm below the elbow that we'll reconstruct. It all
depends on what they find inside so this all stinks!.
I'm angry but I'm becoming QUITE enlightened... I'm
becoming crystal clear about a lot that would have
taken me many many years to understand. I wish I could
explain the changes in my perception and reality but
words fail. Just know I'm getting a lot of positive
things out of this.
Sarcomas aren't killed off easily at all by chemo
which is why the removal thing is necessary with
them... high percentages of ppl who ever have a
sarcoma will get reoccurring ones. But for now if it
hasn't spread and the cancer is removed from my arm I
will be cancer-free.
I'm lucky because its not my leg... or my pancreas or
something like that, if its just my arm...
I'm also lucky that it isn't my RIGHT arm.
I'm lucky to have people who care so much about me and
My town is lucky Im not a postal worker. hahahaha
just kidding.
Actually I'll just take everything one step at a
time... I figure if I'm going to the hosp on the 10th
I'll have tests, then the surgery very very soon
after, and chemo and, possibly, radiation.
woo hoo. fun. eek!
Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts.
I'm going to be ok. This is just hard.
heck. I did labor, right? :)
love,
Laura.

CSOT list...Problems!!

2001-11-02 Thread Joanne
Hello List Friends

Since many of you are on both lists I am using the CS list to pass on some
information. I hope you don't mind, Mike. Apparently Yahoo determined the OT
list is 'invalid. I have no idea why. I have written to them twice and have
received no response. At least two of our members have been unsubscribed. One
today and one earlier in the week I have written to Yahoo regarding that
problem earlier this week and they have not responded. We did get two new
members though so that does not make a lot of sense. I sent a test message to
the list and it never came through.

I find it very difficult to deal with persons who refuse to discuss whatever
problem there is. I have searched through all the group info. and apparently
Yahoo has the right to do this, and they do not have to notify you if they do.
I am new at this, and perhaps I was negligent in some way. If so, I apologize.

I am searching for a new home for us. I have contacted Topica. This being
Friday I do not expect to hear from them until next week. Apparently I can
give them the information they need, and they will do the switching for us. I
really wanted to make contact with Topica first before I switched. They are
headquartered in SF which makes them practically local. I feel like since I am
in the Bay Area 3 or 4 times a year I could go bang on their door if
necessary..:-)

Meanwhile there may be some other problems that need looking at while we are
waiting for our new home. The list seems to have slowed to a snail's pace,
even Christmas Trees and Goats did not make it there.

There have been a number of posts that are just forwarded messages from
someone else and most of them are very political. The list was set up as a
discussion list where most all topics can be addressed. However, it is
difficult to respond to a third party post. It would be better if each person
posted his or her own input regarding the topic and give a link to the whole
message. Those who have an opinion could respond to what the sender is
saying.. I guess the school teacher is me is coming out. I am not really sure
if the sender has even read the messages or is just forwarding them.

Input from list members regarding this problem would be most welcome.
I can be reached at sam...@snowcrest.net
Tracy is busy with a sick little one these days so she basically said go ahead
and do whatever. I will forward anything that seems important on to
her.

I hope to have some answers for you soon. Your patience is appreciated and I
look forward to suggestions from list members.

Sincerely,

Joanne Thomason

First thing in the morning...immediately upon arising, even before

 Interesting indeed.

I did it and it looks like I might have the critters.

What power microscope would I need to see and identify the Candida?
I

I am strongly considering purchasing a powerful digital microscope

Any suggestions as to where I should start getting my guns and ammo

In addition, I would like to make this a school project for one of

If we can help this youngster ( actually a Senior ) get an A on

Very interesting Thelma. The only thing I have
to add, from experience, is cows are much less likely
to dance on the roof of your car!

Also goats are brush eaters rather than grass eaters,
so maybe that is where the difference is? Mine sure
  loved poison oak and manzanitta.

  Gary

That`s true! My Saanen doeling loved to hop from the ground, to the car
roof, then up to the van roof and jump down to do it all over again!
She also loved to race with my sister`s 4 Great Danes...now that was a
 sight!!
As to the poison oak, mine ate it and laid in it. I got a nasty case of
poison oak on the insides of my legs when I straddled her to trim her toes
 one day, while wearing shorts!
Yikes! Wish I`d had CS back then.

I can vouch for this because Ken is a friend and our
  former pastor, who
  nearly died from Cipro.--Jane
To all my friends, kids and readers of my email:
Following are the comments of a dear minister friend
  of mine, Reverend
Ken Crossman, who is suffering from the deadly side
  effects of Cipro. He
has suffered for years as the result of his contact
  with Cipro and wants
everyone to know that this is a drug with powerful
  damage causing
results. I am amazed at his serene attitude while
  being forced to undergo
dialysis 3 times a week for 6 hours each time. He
  now has a never-ending
lifetime of painful treatment to suffers as the
  result of
improper prescription of this now highly touted
  panacea for anthrax.
There is no cure for the damage caused by Cipro.
  Beware
  HARRY WELCH
BELOW IS THE EMAIL HE SENT TO ME...PLEASE, FOR
  YOUR OWN HEALTH'S
SAKE TAKE TIME TO READ IT!
In the unbelievable response to the anthrax scare
  across America, I've
been amazed to see how Cipro has been recommended by
  doctors who say,
the disease can be prevented by the medication.
  Other respected
persons, like some of the heroes of the September 11
  disaster in New
York, Mayor Rudy Guliani and New York Governor
  George Potakey have
publicly given Cipro their personal endorsement.
  It's been like a three
  ring circus on TV.
Personally, I see a danger here. Nearly five years
  ago my doctor, then
not now, prescribed Cipro as an antibiotic against
  my temporary illness.
Due to an allergic reaction, in one week's time I
  lost my kidney function
forever. My nephrologist, then and now, told me my
  kidney failure was
directly caused by using Cipro. Another patient of
  his, in the same time
frame, had the same result. How many others have
  since been affected, I
  can only imagine!
Since then I've been told by nurses that their
  doctors prescribe Cipro
like candy since it often can be helpful for
  certain patients.
My suggestion is that people read the fine print
  that comes with the
Cipro. If one reads it carefully the side effects
  are mentioned. For 5
years I've gotten excellent dialysis care 5 hours a
  day, 3 days a week. I
wish I hadn't been prescribed Cipro, which makes my
  dialysis necessary.
The Orlando Sentinel on Oct. 11, 2001 reported that
  Joshua Lubitz, a
pharmacist at an Eckerd drugstore in Boca Raton,
  said he normally
distributes about 200 tables of Cipro per week.
  Since Monday, he had
dispensed 2,500. Our government is making it
  possible for four other
pharmaceutical companies to produce generic versions
  of Cipro. The patent
holder is increasing their production by 25 per
  cent.
Recently while discussing the possible misuse of
  Cipro in CNN's 10:30
P.M. segment of October 17th, Dr. Gilbert Ross of
  the American Council on
Science and Health said, Sporadic improper (taking
  it once and skipping
a few days to take some more) use of Cipro can cause
  more damage than
  Anthrax.
I thank God for the many wonderful medications that
  bless millions,
including Cipro. Cipro is no friend of mine and I
  urge others to read
the fine print with the package, check with your
  doctor and pharmacist
while you look up Cipro allergies on the Internet.
  Voluminous material
is available. Doing so could save your kidneys.

Re: CSList management

2001-10-01 Thread Joanne
Hello All,

I am somewhat shocked, surprised and saddened by some of the recent remarks
regarding list management. Shocked at Bill's message, surprised at the
applauds he got and saddened that no one spoke up in defense of Stephens leaving

Back in February Bill posted to the list telling us about his company. In May
Mike made reference to the Frankenstuart Monster and reprimanded both
gentleman at the time for their behavior. Bill responded with a series of
clap, clap, clap etc.. apparently applauding Mike admonishing those two
for their uncivil behaviorAnd now we are subjected to a tirade from Bill
far worse IMHO than anything Frank, Stuart or Stephen ever said. Bill's
remarks, I feel were insulting not only to Frank and Stephen but also to Mike
and the whole list. I was shocked and embarrassed to read it ...and then
their were those that applauded it. It is a bit like applauding the terrorist
for the bombing...and no I am not calling anyone a terrorist here, although
Bill referred to Stuart as a terrorist. By Stephen leaving the list, and I can
certainly understand why, we have just let the school yard bully win.

Perhaps Stephen and Frank should have been more civil and not so *snarky* but
it was between them. They both have strong opinions and believe in what they
are doing. . I think that it is often that through honest disagreement that
learning takes place. I won't even pretend to know what they were talking about
most of the time.

Perhaps Mike should have reigned them in earlier or more often, but he, like I ,
on the *other *list, like to give folks a chance to monitor themselves.
Perhaps I too should be doing that more often on the off topic list as there
have been some not so niceness over there too...there have been four
unsubscribes in the last few days...so consider yourselves reminded about
civility as most of you are on both lists.

If we cannot control our emotions and feelings in these matters and insist on
being rude and insulting , and have others applaud that behavior, how in the
world can we expect nations to agree on anything.

I am sorry to see Stephen leave. Mainly because he is leaving for the wrong
reason. I don't believe that you should let you actions be determined by the
actions of another. Bill is not the moderator, Mike is and if anyone need be
admonished for bad behavior it should be Bill for his insults to the whole
list , and perhaps he hasprivately...
True something's off topic do get brought up but most of the time they switch
over which is why the *other*list exists, There is no need to call those that
bring up other subjects Loony Toons.

Anyway I just had to put in ,as someone has said although I don't recall right
now who...my 2cents worth. I could say more but I guess enough is enough

Sincerely
Joanne

If Bill Fernald's comments had not been endorsed by others on the list, I
might have remained quiet and let the matter die. For In his diatribe, some of
the worst attributes of human endeavor were expressed. I won't even bother to
address them. The list should reflect carefully on what he was actually saying

 Roger,
As I recently wrote Mike, as a non-engineer and non-chemist, sometimes the
discussions between the techies get too obscure for me. One of the
biggest
problems I have in following the discussions is that the techies don't
define their terms. Indeed, it sometimes appears at times that terms are
used differently. This makes the discussions too hard to follow.

I would greatly appreciate some way of (1) defining terms that are being
used, and (2) standardizing those terms that ARE used.

What do you and others think?

Re: CSFeedback on list direction...

2001-09-26 Thread Joanne
Hi MikePersonally the tech stuff does not bother me. Most of it I
do not understand...if I have time I will read through some of it otherwise
I just delete it. The sniping that goes on occasionally does not bother me
either. It is perhaps that these gentleman feel very passionate about their
studies and get carried away. True politeness should be observed and
respect for each others work..but sometimes they do make me laugh which is
not bad. I even miss Stuart...yes he roared in like a lion but he did
apologize and I respect one who can do that. I know I made some mistakes
back then trying to get the hang of proper list etiquette.
Perhaps there could be a T on the subject line to inform others it is a
technical discussion if they do not want a whole new list. I think as
George said
I firmly believe that these
sorts of scary, none understandable topics is what advanced the art
of CS production beyond the 'cup of water, dash of salt and 3x9v
  battery' stage...

I think it is important to discuss ideas. Having never been in the
scientific research area but I would think that out of discussions and
disagreements knowledge can be gained. I am more into the arts and even in
that area there can be much controversy about what is art.

You are a wonderful moderator Mike and I feel like we are family and
families do run into problems. The kids need a little supervision now and
then, so do what you need to do *Dad*. I only hope the SO list can continue
to be as successful as your list in the years ahead..

Enjoy

Almost no one has seen fit to reply directly to my comments on list
values and direction, yet several folks have made remarks like yours,
George. Perhaps the situation I was responding to is no longer
obvious and needs to be recapped. It would be nice to see some
 questions asked.

Recent technical discussions on this list have sometimes devolved into
virtual shouting matches between competing vendors, complete with ad
hominemn attacks and ridicule. I have stated plainly that this is not
acceptable and I stand by that -- a position I've been criticized for.

Apart from behavior problems of that sort, quite often, technical
discussions have become so voluminous and detailed that they
have overwhelmed the list, leading many a new arrival to despair of
ever understanding anything of this terribly complicated subject!

I have offered to set up a silver-tech-list so folks can talk tech
all they want without having to apologize for using big words, and even
take off the gloves and go bare-fisted at each other if that's what
will allow them to resolve their differences of opinion...

The four primary goals of the list are *still*, briefly restated:

 1) Delivering good, unbiased info;
 2) Giving encouragement and support;
 3) Debunking hype and disinformation;
 4) Furthering the art.

It is only when either points 3 or 4 become disruptive to the list
that I'd figure the tech list would come into play.

Civil discussions, sans controversy, can and should be acceptable
here, at least until they get to be so busy they're swamping other
 discussion.

Maybe, like the silver-off-topic-list, the tech list will only carry
significant traffic once in a while. Or maybe it'll draw back other
tech types who've given up on us due to the volume of off-topic
messages and other complaints, and become viable in its own right.

What's it going to be folks?

CSneed some help

2001-09-07 Thread Joanne
Good Morning List...about 4:00a a.m. here out west. My husband has a horrible
rash all over his upper body. We think it was caused by chemicals in a
swimming pool and hot tub. Also the heat of the hot tub seemed to make it
worse. We have sprayed it with cs and he has put other ointments onit also.
It appears to be getting worse. He of course gave up the hot tub and has now
after discerning the pool chemicals may be the culprit has given that up too.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what he might use on it to make the rash
go away and stop the itch. His whole upper body is now raw..He may need to go
to doc and get antibiotics. If any of you East Coasters have an idea of
something he can get when he goes out to work in the morning if would be
appreciated.

Meanwhile I am going to so a search of the archives.
Thank you

unread messages and attaches itself using one of the following 16

  names:

  fun.pif

  Humor.TXT.pif

  docs.scr

  s3msong.MP3.pif

  Sorry_about_yesterday.DOC.pif

  news_doc.scr

  New_Napster_Site.DOC.scr

  README.TXT.pif

  images.pif

  Pics.ZIP.scr

When a user opens the attachment, the worm copies itself to the

  Windows directory as:

  inetd.exe

and modifies the file win.ini by including the line executing that

  program.

Additionally, the Badtrans worm, drops a backdoor trojan

(Win32.Badtrans.21882 Trojan). The worm creates and executes a 21882-

byte file in the Windows System directory:

  kern32.exe

and modifies the registry in order to run it on the next reboot:

  HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\kernel32=kern32

  .exe

The Trojan, which is in fact a backdoor server also uses its own

  library:

hksdll.dll (a 5632-byte file created in the same directory).

  To fix:

  First:

search your hard drive for the files named INETD.EXE, KERN32.EXE and

  CP_23421.NLS. Delete them.

  Then:

Run SYSEDIT by clicking START-RUN. On RUN Window type SYSEDIT then

  click OK.

In SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EDITOR select the window C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI

then delete the entry C:\WINDOWS\INETD.EXE under RUN key.

  All done.

CSdumb questions

2001-08-04 Thread Joanne
Hello teachies ...there are smart one's in the world and then there are the

There has been so much talk lately about ionic, particle and colloidal silver I

Thank you...

I certainly acknowledge the possible benefits of large particles in the
digestive tract. I would hesitate to inhale them...but...there is a study that
traces elimination of inhaled silver dust by dogs resulting in 90% elimination
in the feces in 30 days. [Phalen +Morrow 1973]
Obviously, it hit the blood stream even as boulders.
Humm... What happened to the other 20%?

It's getting really hard to cling to any right way when wrong ways are
getting hard to prove wrong. :-)

I guess it all boils down to personal preference.

With most preparations that listers make being both ionic and colloidal,
[conducts electricity AND has a TE] the whole point of what it is that
works where is somewhat moot. It all works as well as it does wherever
and
  however it's applied.
Color may be a moot point as well and for a similar reason. A colored CS
most likely contains both small and large particles, though, personally I
think it best to avoid really large ones and prefer to make the colorless
variety. It could be that a varient soup within a range might actually
provide some greater benefit. I dunno.

Ken: As I mentioned in an earlier post, it should be quite easy to
determine
if ionic CS has germicidal activity in the body. I think the implications
of
having greater knowledge about ANYTHING is beyond discussion. As far as
varying CS particle size to provide specific advantages, how about the
potential benefit of generating a large particle CS for intestinal
infections
since ionic and small CS particles may be consumed in stomach by HCl? Roger

 Hi all,
STO points are acupressure points and are situated either side
of
the spine, between the 1st and 2nd vertebrae, down from the skull,
accessible at the back of the neck.

If you would like a little more information on why STO points are
addressed
 then read on.

I have only heard the term holding points used in the healing modality
called Body Electronics, when conditions are appropriate, the bodies of
both
patient and healer and all other people that are connected genetically,
either through inheritance or progeny are also healed at the same instant.
As I understand it, the DNA (or genetic string) is the third dimensional
blue-print for the vehicle (or body) we use for the experience of the game
we call life, the duration of which we determine by our thoughts knowingly
or unknowingly, but always operated with free will the choosing of
either
 positive or negative thoughts.
Negative thoughts are considered to be detrimental to body's health and
enough negative thoughts will defeat all available healing treatments and
one experiences death; negative thoughts are the opposite of positive
thoughts thence the two opposites EVIL.- -.LIVE, it is not uncommon
when
we are in love, to say to ourselves it's good to be alive, the one we
are
in love with is perceived at that time to be perfect and we have no fear
of
death as we would easily forfeit our own life in place of the perceived
perfect one, all this before we have interaction with them, therefore my
own
thoughts are responsible for me being in this state we call in love.
Therefore every thought we think has a direct effect on our own DNA and
this
is the reason the teacher Jesus emphasised forgiveness, because to forgive
is to forget i.e.. think different thoughts, (it is easier to be selective
about what we think about than to stop thinking, if you doubt me then try
this test; think no thought for the next 20
seconds--that's
ok try again later if you like), by the way this is the explanation of why
we are all equal even though our experience of the game of life differs.
The brain is a bio-transceiver, the frequency we emit is selected by the
filters that are the combinations of neural networks that are our memory,
this explains of the reason why all of the oscillating devices such as the
Rife transmitter, 660nm red led's etc,. affect our physical vehicle
(body).
Note there is no difference in the following when we say: my shoes, my
clothes, my body, none of these are ME, however they contribute to the
WHOLE
 ME.
Holding points allows us to access the experience associated with the
 ailment or injury.
We re-live the experience again, except this time from a non-resistance
perspective (unconditional love) and the physical body changes instantly,
limbs regenerate, tumours are expelled through the skin or disappear,
scars
 disappear, etc.
Many weeks or months of preparation are necessary, these include diet
always
and the consumption of a broad range of minerals, thence my personal
interest in colloidal silver and gold (non or little reactive minerals).
Interesting point, minerals are consumed by the process, the process will
stop if all the minerals are used up in your body and must be replenished
 before the process can continue.
Diet is strictly the optimum human diet, fresh raw vegetarian, lots of
clean
water and minerals, sounds familiar! all positive actions, resulting in
more
positive life experiences and prolonged game of life.

 Leo.

 Dear Yvonne,
German Shepards are notorious for hip dysplasia problems. Years ago
we
came across an ancillary protocol which worked splendidly for us (in
fact
it saved our 15 yro Shepard from having to be put down). We instigated
the
use of alfalfa (in tablet form), at a quantity of 1200 mg per day ---for
three days---then reduced the dosage to 800 mg thereafter. Within 4 days
he
could get up unassisted and almost pain-free. Within 10 days he was
completely pain-free and continued to be so for the remainder of his life.
He lived on to the age of 18 years.passing on from more natural causes
of advanced ageunrelated to his dysplasia. The alfalfa protocol was
required as a continuing protocol for the remainder of his life. Whenever
it was discontinued for five continuous days, his dysplasia symptoms would
start to reappear. We have, since, used this protocol to assist in many
cases of articulating joint problems in dogs (my wife and I still have
10all throwaways by considerate humans---7 of which are advanced in
age [ 12 or older]..none of which exhibit arthritis. We give them
alfalfa (three standard tablets daily for small dogs and eight tablets for
 large ones), together with glucosamine
 sulphate capsules/tablets @ 50 mg per 15 lbs body-weight.. If one has
many
dogsor is economy minded.the use of powdered alfalfa (obtainable
from any feed store) at the rate of 1 teaspoon dailymixed into their
moisturized-food, has proven to be a most valuable health support.
Regarding the lower intestinal tract bacterial affliction..you
might consider the following modification: Using a small bulb-type
syringe, give the dog an enema solution containing 80% CS (10 to 20 ppm)
and 20% DMSO. Lower DMSO concentration to 15% if dog exhibits noticeable
stress from tissue irritation. Repeat this protocol three times daily at
4
hour intervals. The odds for bacterial control---using this
protocol---are
quite high and any side effects quite benign.
I wish you the very best good fortune in preserving and
extending the healthy and happy life of your beloved pet.
 Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
Disclaimer. Please remember, we are not veterinarians and DO NOT practice
veterinary medicine. These are simply some of the EXPERIMENTAL protocols
we
have evaluated over the past years.

The very small tick may or may not be a deer tick. Adult deer ticks are
about an 8th inch. The tick 'nymph' or what we call a 'seed tick' is very
small. It's the same tick in a different stage of it's life cycle.
Lymes is pretty rare especially if you get that tick off within 3 hours.
Usually one gets flu like symptoms and the spreading rash or bullseye,
but
 not always.

Also be aware of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever which can kill ya pretty
quick.

I always check for ticks several times after walking in the woods.
There's something that we locals call tic paranoia, lasting hours to
days, where every little tickle promotes nudity and inspection. [more fun
 in mixed company :-)]

If a dog gets a tick in its ear, the dog can be paralyzed till it's pulled
out. If the tick is allowed to drop off, you'll have Sagans [billions
and
billions] of ticks around...starting with seed ticks.
I don't know if dogs get or carry Lymes disease but it's a good idea to
 de-tick them every day.

As a former forestry worker, I've had ticks on me that were so thick
that
the blue on my jeans was not visible and they had to be scraped off with a
knife before they dug in. WAY FREAKY!!!

  Fun with ticks...
They can run around on the bottom of a jar full of methonol for a long
time.
Lots of fun to touch with a butane pocket torch. Sometimes they'll
imitate
a ballistic missile! Ready, aim, FIRE pop!
Place ticks on the burner of a kerosene lamp and watch them do laps!
Pull off their legs on one side and watch them walk in circles.

Guinea hens and chickens love ticks...for supper.

Hey, what's that little spot??? Oh a Freckle whew!

Joanne: I'm sure there are others much more knowledgeable than I, and I
may
be dead wrong as well, but here goes anyway. Those ticks could have
transferred themselves to other clothing, or your pets and back to your
body
during those three days, or been on your body the whole time. There's no
way
to know. If you can see the tick easily, i.e., its an eighth to a quarter
of
an inch in size, it is NOT a deer tick which is extremely small and very
difficult to see. It's the deer tick which carries Lyme disease and even
among deer ticks, only about 3% actually carry the Lyme bacteria.
Furthermore, even IF you HAD a Lyme infected deer tick on your body,
there
 is
no certainty, by any means, that it will infect you. However, one way to
PROMOTE infection from any tick, since all ticks carry infectious
bacteria,
is to attempt to remove it with a tweezers, or other means that induces
it
 to
regurgitate bacterial containing fluids into your bloodstream. I would be
VERY cautious about removing a tick. If fact, have an expert do it. As
far
 as
your pets are concerned, my vet once told me it's far safer to allow them
to
fall off rather then attempt to pull them off yourself. If you are
infected
with Lyme bacteria, a bulls-eye shaped redness MAY appear around the
bite.
Check with your doctor to get further help. Roger

CSA question of ticks and lyme

2001-06-28 Thread Joanne
Last week I was visiting my daughter about 30 miles East of
Sacramento.(California) We went for a walk with the kids and the dog. After we
got back we found a tick on the dog. Later that day while shopping a tick fell
off me. After we got home Nancy found two ticks on her. The next day I found
another one on me. Today, three days later and three showers later, after I got
home, I found two more on me. Except for the first one they all had a hold of
me and were digging in. The clothes I was wearing were not even with me in
Sacramento.The questions are:
Where were those ticks for three days?
Do all ticks carry lyme?
If they do and one gets it what are the symptoms to watch for? My daughter was
concerned as there apparently are ticks around her place this year. I told
her I would try and get some info. for her as I know some of you have had to
deal with lyme.

Re: CSEnlarged heart

2001-05-28 Thread Joanne
Hi Bob

If I had a potentially life threatening illness, the first thing I would
look at is my diet. I just finished a book by a women whose body was
riddled with cancer and she finally was able to beat it with a radical diet
change. Admittedly it might not work for everyone and may be considered
extreme by many. But when confronted with the alternatives who knows what
we are able to do. Anyway that is where I would start. Not a popular
option I realize. Also a look at life style might be appropriate.

  Hello List,

I have a few questions about snake oil.

Does any one have any cites on the indications and protocols for the use of
snake oil?

Is it taken internally or topically? Is one kind of snake better than
another?

Does it matter if it is a male or female snake? From what snake organ do
you extract the oil?

Most important, can you get toxic results from the oil if the snake is
venomous?

What does it smell and taste like? Does it have to be stored under special
conditions? Is organic snake oil available?

What is the FDA's position regarding snake oil? Is it true that some cults
are using it as a sex lubricant?

If you don't know the answers to these and countless other questions about
snake oil, you need to order my book,

Everything You Have Always Wanted to Know About Snake Oil,

(But were afraid to ask because your family and friends would think you an
idiot)

For Silver List members only, on special now, for only $189.89, including
FREE SHIPPING anywhere in the Continental US.

Order today, and get my FREE Pamphlet included at absolutely no additional
charge, How to squeeze the very last drop of oil from your snake without messy
hands. Order in the next 4 hours and I will throw in at absolutely no charge,
my shocking monograph on the blatant and uncaring FDA suppression of Snake
Oil, titled, Snake Oil in the Age of Aquarius. Act now, or, you will keep
getting snake doo all over yourself every time you try those outmoded and

I had 2 Kak's slip through security last week and 5 more got caught this

if I did it before or after the infection. I e-mailed the company asking
how to delete the Kak's and they sent me instructions, some of which I could
follow. A friend helped me finish it off. I am certainly learning about

My question for the smart one's is WHY does Explorer seem to be infected

   Hi all,

Please don't despair. I'm actively working on adding a filter to the
list software which should break the kakworm and similar embedded
   script based e-pathogens.

Since I can see no legitimate reason for anyone to be sending an
embedded script of any kind, I'm just going to try to strip them out
of
the messages altogether. I figure everything between script and
   /script can just *go*.

Inevitably, I expect that any tampering I do to the HTML code of the
messages may break something for some people who are trying to read
them, so I ask you all to bear with me during the debugging process.

Anyone with unix, procmail, sed, or smartlist experience is welcome to
step forward and lend a hand he says, hopefully!

The ideal would be to strip *all* HTML out of the messages and just
post the text, but that seems to be a rather large software project,
requiring all sorts of detailed understanding of the present state of
web standards *and* the proprietary violations^H^H^H extensions of
those standards by certain companies whose initials are MS...

In the meantime, if anyone can re-post instructions for filling the
gaping security holes in Outlook Express that would be a *great* help.

Hi Terry

Your friend is fortunate to have such a positive outcome with her diabetes.
For most of us it usually isn't that simple. My only success has been with
diet and exercise. But now I am so happy with a better diet, less meds, and
I really enjoy my almost daily walk...except when the neighbors dog gets my
leg. But CS has been helping it heal, although because of the diabetes I
did have to go the ER and get some antibiotics.

Hope your friend can cintinue to keep it under control..it can really be

from
a company in the UK (looks like a porno place or cheap dating service type

offline
for the past several weeks, due to moving and a computer problem. The only
place this information was used was at AOL, for account service.

We talked to the local PD, and discovered that they are getting lots of

 VBS/Helper.Worm

Helper is a new virus that also has worm
capabilities, found in the wild in China.
It spreads through the OutLook Express mail
client and also infects files with extensions
.HTM and .HTT on the system.

Once activated, the worm creates copies of
 itself as HELP.VBS, HELP.HTA, HELP.HTM, and
 UNTITLED.HTM under the Windows directory.
It then registers UNTITLED.HTM as Stationary
for Outlook Express by adding the following
 registry keys:

 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\default user id\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
   Express\5.0\Mail\, Message Send HTML
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\default user id\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
   Express\5.0\Mail\, Compose Use Stationery
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\default user id\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
   Express\5.0\Mail\, Stationery Name

Any new mail composed after infection will
have the virus embedded as Visual Basic
 Script in the message body.

HELP.HTM will be registered as wall paper
 by adding the following key:

 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\desktop\wallPaper

It will run help.htm if the active desktop
 is enabled.

As a virus, it appends itself to host
files, increasing their size by 9,900 bytes.

 VIRUS UPDATE 1200
 =

The latest AntiVirus Update has been uploaded
to the Computer Associates web site for you
 to download.

To download the new signature files for IPE
without going through your Web browser, you can
use the new Auto Download feature inside
IPE (Tools, AutoDownload) or the AutoDownload
application to check for updated signatures,
 download, and install them.

Alternatively, the update file can be obtained
 at the following URL:
 http://antivirus.ca.com/cgi-bin/ipe/update.cgi

It is recommended that once you have downloaded
and installed an update that you do a virus
scan of all the files on your system and
create a new reference disk for your system.

We recommend that you keep your anti-virus
protection up-to-date at all times by ensuring
you are running the most up-to-date anti-virus
software (Current IPE version 5.2) and that latest
 update kit.

These update kits are cumulative: therefore the
latest update kit includes everything from all
previous update kits as well as the new virus
 information.

These update kits are NOT complete versions of
IPE but an update which will allow version 5.2
to detect and clean the latest viruses.

CSVIRUS....They *killed* it

2001-04-23 Thread Joanne
Hello List Members, Friends and Family Members...Sounds like the beginning of a
speech...
What a frustrating two days. Dave (my son)spent most of yesterday trying to
deal with this virus and his friend Bob came by today and they finally *killed*
it they hope. As Bob said It is fixed till next time.

I cannot explain everything but I do know some of the suggestions I received
did not work for reasons I do not understand. Originally Norton found 4 but
then I went to House Calls and they found 20 infected files that were very

My apologies to all if this caused any problems. I am not an attachment opener

know if this caused the problem or not. On Saturday everything was fine and
then Sunday morningwhat a mess.

It is beyond my comprehension why people like to do these things to others. I
do believe that somewhere it time they will have to be accountable for their
actions (for the off topic list) It would not surprise me that when they leave
this world and get to the Pearly Gates that the Gatekeeper says they cannot
come in because they are *infected with a virus. * That would seem appropriate.

I hope everyone who got infected has been able to solve their problem.. there
have been lots of suggestions that I think we should all heedAND if it has
my name on it and has an attachment I did not send it... Delete it. I rarely
if ever send out an attachment and then only with permission..and it is usually

Conclusions Below?

List: This article should be read in its entirety. Roger

Subject: Aspartame

WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE and the MULTIPLE
SCLEROSIS FOUNDATION FDA IS SUING FOR COLLUSION WITH MONSANTO.

  Article written by Betty Martini

I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE on
ASPARTAME: Marketed as 'NutraSweet,' 'Equal,' and
'Spoonful.'

In the keynote address by the EPA, they announced that there was an epidemic
of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus, and they did not understand what
toxin was causing this to be rampant across the United States.

I explained I was there to lecture on exactly that subject. When the
temperature of Aspartame exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME
coverts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes
metabolic acidosis. (Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire
ants.) The methanol toxicity mimics multiple sclerosis; thus, people were
being diagnosed with having multiple sclerosis in error. The multiple
sclerosis is not a death sentence, where methanol toxicity is.

In the case of systemic lupus, we are finding it has become almost as
rampant
as multiple sclerosis, especially in Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.
Also,
with methanol toxicity, the victims usually drink three to four 12 oz. cans
of them per day, some even more. In the cases of systemic lupus, which is
triggered by ASPARTAME, the victim usually does not know that the aspartame
is the culprit.

The victim continues its use aggravating the lupus to such a degree, that
sometimes it becomes life threatening. When we get people off the aspartame,
those with systemic lupus usually become asymptotic. Unfortunately, we
cannot
reverse this disease. On the other hand, in the case of those diagnosed with
Multiple Sclerosis, (when in reality, the disease is methanol toxicity),
most
of the symptoms disappear. We have seen cases where their vision has
returned
and even their hearing has returned. This also applies to cases of tinnitus.

During a lecture I said If you are using ASPARTAME [NutraSweet,
Equal,Spoonful, etc.] and you suffer from fibromyalgia symptoms, spasms,
shooting pains, numbness in your legs, cramps, vertigo, dizziness,
headaches,
tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred
vision, or memory loss, you probably have ASPARTAME DISEASE! People were
jumping up during the lecture saying, I've got this. Is it reversible?
It is rampant. Some of the speakers at my lecture were even suffering from
these symptoms. In one lecture attended by the Ambassador of Uganda, he told
us that their sugar industry is adding aspartame! He continued by saying
that
one of the industry leader's son could no longer walk due in part to product
usage! We have a very a serious problem.

Even a stranger came up to Dr. Espisto,(one of my speakers) and myself and
said, Could you tell me why so many people seem to be coming down with MS?

During a visit to a hospice, a nurse said that six of her friends, who were
heavy Diet Coke drinkers, had all been diagnosed with MS. This is beyond
coincidence. Here is the problem. There were Congressional Hearings when
Aspartame was originally included as a sweetener in 100 different products.
Since this initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, but to
no avail.

Nothing has been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets.

Now there are over 5,000 products containing this chemical, and the PATENT
HAS EXPIRED

At the time of this first hearing, people were going blind. The methanol in
the Aspartame converts to formaldehyde in the retina of the eye.
Formaldehyde
is grouped in the same class of drugs as cyanide and arsenic - DEADLY
POISONS!!! Unfortunately, it just takes longer to quietly kill, but it is
killing people and causing all kinds of neurological problems.

Aspartame changes the brain's chemistry. It is the reason for severe
seizures. This drug changes the dopamine level in the brain. Imagine what
this drug does to patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

This drug also causes birth defects. There is absolutely no reason to take
this product. It is NOT A DIET PRODUCT! The Congressional record said, It
makes you crave Carbohydrates and will make you FAT. Dr. Roberts stated
that
when he got patients off aspartame, their average weight loss was 19
pounds per person.

The formaldehyde stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and
thighs

Re: CSFor Those Who Are Reluctant to Ask CS Related Questions

2001-04-02 Thread Joanne
Dear Connie
I am not sure you want to hear my response, but the only way I have been
able to control my diabetes is my controlling my diet and getting exercise.
I have given up all sugar, most meat and very little dairy if any. I have
not found cs made any difference with me. But of course that is just what
works for me, everyone is different.
If your friend has his/her diet under control and is still having problems
he/she should be under medical care. Diabetes can be a b.ch to deal
with and can cause many, many problems.
We have one member that I know of, on the list who has also given up the
sugar but has still had problems. For me giving up sugar was not hard and I
feel incredibly good. My tests last week in my doctors words. were
*fabulous*. I have gone from taking 4-5 pills a day to taking 1-2 a week
sometimes if I feel I need to and they are half strength.
I am only relating my experience. If anyone has found a magic cure for
diabetes I am all for it, but my experience has been commitment to doing
what I know will help me not only with the diabetes but to feel better in
general.
Sorry I could not be more help. The only help I can offer is encouragement
to get it under control before it gets out of hand. If anyone here
disagrees. I am sure they will let me know. We have a great group here and
on the *off topic list* (please note the plug)

Good luck to your friend. I sincerely hope he/she will be successful in
getting the monster off his /her back.

Be Happy
Joanne

I can remember years ago when I was a kid I used to get styes quite often. I
had a cousin who told me to rub a silver dime

my styes always went away. Don't know if it was the heat or the silver.

  Hi Old Bob:

My Grandmother always kept a silver dollar in the milk, and one in the rain
barrel out by the barn. Grandma was born in 1897, so she might have been
considered old Americana. Over the years, those silver dollars got pretty
  thin and worn looking.
I have no idea what chemical reaction might have taken place with these old
silver dollars. The milk always tasted fresh, with or without refrigeration
(the milk came straight from the cow in those early days, and not the grocery
  store).

One of the reasons that brought me to this board to begin with, was to try to
figure out what Grandma knew about silver and keeping milk fresh, along with
water. To this day, we add either a silver wire (or now CS) to the milk from
the store. We rarely use milk and this prolongs its shelf life
significantly.

As kids, when we would get a skinned knee or elbow, grandma would tape a
silver dollar to the knee or elbow. Don't know if it actually did any good,
or made us feel better, but things healed quickly, and I don't ever remember
  getting an infection.

  suzy

Hear Ye Hear Ye;

Go back to your early Americana. The pioneers when they crossed this
great
land placed a silver coin in the water and milk jugs to keep them fresh,
and
 it worked.

When I performed the silver test in the tropics, I mentioned that I
stirred
one batch of water with the silver wire and the 1000/1
petri dish was clean while the 100/1 started to show colonies. At that
time
Dr John Warren our lab head said all you have to do is put a few dimes
(at
that time they were silver) in a jug shack it up and let it sit overnight
to
be safe. Something D-mn well happened.

Re: CSOn Acceptable CS Topics

2001-03-23 Thread Joanne
Some very wise words of wisdom

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember that peace is found in
silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; yet listen to others, even to the dull
and ignorant; for they too have a message for you. Avoid loud and aggressive
persons; they will lower your spirit through their fear.

Yet, do not compare yourself with others, lest you become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy
your own achievements however humble, as well as your plans. Keep interested
in your own standing for it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of
time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of
trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons
strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism, if you will
seek it.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Be not cynical about Love;
for without it, all is aridity and finally, disenchantment. Love is as the
Lotus. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrender the things
of youth. Exercise strength of spirit to shield you against misfortune. But
do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are simply born of
loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are
seeking perfection, you are not it, yet.

You are a child of the universe and no less than the trees and the stars,
you have earned the right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you now, your universe is unfolding as it
must. Therefore be at peace with your God, whatever you conceive God to be.
And whatever your labours and aspirations, avoid the noise and confusion of
life, keep in peace for your soul. Ignore their sham, drudgery and drunken
dreams. It is a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Decide to be happy. For it is
your choice and one of the few that cannot be denied you on your journey.

CSchocolate and diabetes

2000-12-29 Thread Joanne
A few days ago there was a post regarding chocolateI think Marshall
sent it. Apparently there is some research suggesting that chocolate can
protect the heart because of something called procyanidin. Before everyone
rushes out to get their chocolate make sure it does not have any sugar in
it!!!From what I have heard it is pretty yucky stuff. And chocolate with sugar
can be the cause of many problems.guaranteed...among them diabetes...which
in turn can cause heart problems, kidney problems, eye problems feet problems
etc etc..

I am pleased to report that my 3 month blood sugar test which was 7.2 a year
ago (7 being maximum recommended) 6.9 in September and with 6 weeks off of
sugar it is down to 5.8! Kidney test went from 15 maximum acceptable level
but down from 30 a year ago) to 5.5..I hope the other diabetics on the
list are having success with whatever they are doing to get there diabetes
under control. It is nice to feel like I have this monster off my

I have only been off sugar since Nov, 1. For me it has been easier that I
thought, although with all the goodies in the store this time of year it is
tempting. I remember what a friend told me Giving up something should not be
a sacrifice but a pleasure I think of that statement when I become tempted.
Having never used the artificial stuff (I want the real thing or nothing) does
it satisfy your sweet tooth or does it stimulate you to want more sweets like

CSCatching up

2000-11-10 Thread Joanne
Joanne ThomasonDear Alex--- I am not sure how to respond. There was no intent
to infer criminal behavior by using the word suspicion. It simply means to be
cautious and investigate something before you accept it as fact. As well you
should do before undertaking any medical procedure. It is sad conditions are
so bad where you practice but that has nothing to do with the validity of your
claims about the vaccine or how to treat diabetes. Everyone is free to do as
they please, we obviously have a difference of opinion (some of it may be due
to language differences) but I personally prefer to stay with my own treatment
of no sugar( yes carbohydrates,) cut back on fat(ie dairy) and exercise. I
went for my walk this morning and we had our first snowfall last night, only an
inch, but it was beautiful and inspiring. Good luck on the girl you are trying
to help.

Ted FYI I asked a friend who goes to a diabetes class (I cannot go because it
is at night and I cannot drive at night, another diabetes side affect) to
check on numbers just in case you are curious. You multiply your number by 18
 ie a
BS of 15 would be 270 with our measuring system. An 8 would give her a 144. I
strive for under 100. Hope her herbs are working, if not ask doctor about
gluphage. Keep in touch. It is really nice to get this monkey off my back
(diabetes) or at least have him tamed down.

Alex said this is a CS list and all this other stuff is off topic although it
is about good health practices which can never be off topic. But I will ask a
CS question. My husband has an acquaintance who knows everything and he says
while CS kills bad stuff in you it also kills all the good stuff in you. I
don't think I read that here did I??

Robert I enjoyed reading the information you sent. As far as smarties
having a negative connotation duhh I dunno either---I guess that depend on
your outlook on life to which I ask the following

If you were a dog would your tail be waggin?

CSDiabetes vaccine and fructose

2000-11-07 Thread Joanne
Joanne ThomasonI sent Dr. Torres message regarding a vaccine for diabetes to
a f friend who speaks spanish and was able to read his links. I also asked him
the question regarding fructose. His responses follow. He is very
knowledgable abourt nutrition.
Joanne

Dear Joanne

Since diabetes type II is not insulin-dependent (that is, the person's pancreas
produces
insulin normally), but insulin-resistant (that is, the insulin does not produce
the expected
results), it is clearly a bodily dysfunction that can be restored with proper
care. I know
that aerobic exercise, weight loss and proper food will do the trick.

Other things might work too.

Now, the way Alex Torres introduced his vaccine is quite suspicious. Firstly
with some irresponsible declaration about eating habits (in his previous
message);
secondly, with so many useless references to the doctor who invented the
vaccine.
It does not add value to know that he taught Che Guevara or that his
father's bone are in the Rotunda.

The immunization process he mentions is very well known. It has been used
to treat a bunch of diseases, from acne and pustule to cancer and several
other degenerative diseases. The results have always been more or less
inconclusive.

Now, I want to be very careful about this because altough I find everything
here very suspect, I still think it might be worthwhile to do some additional
research.

It is a well-known fact that the tradional labs do not support medical research
that leads to cheaper treatments, especially of those diseases that force the
patient to take medicine for the rest of theirs lives. This represents trillions

of dollars a year and no lab wants to lose this.

Also, researches conducted outside the US are not readily accepted by American
authorities.

I read one of the articles mentioned by Alex Torres. Unfortunately, it is not
a good document. It is emotional. It mentions 600 patients cured of several
diseases, especially diabetes. But the way they prove the cure it by
quoting the patients themselves. No blind test, no double blind, no lab tests
are referred to. It still may work, but the articles are not acceptable.

So, I am NOT saying this auto-vaccine can not work or will not work.
What I am saying is that
it requires further investigation before someone decides to take the risk of
having manipulated blood re-injected in his/her body. Since the blood is
his/her own, risk is minimum, but still exists. Especially because flasks can be

intermixed, etc.

Also, good eating habits plus exercise will not only control diabetes but also
bring other benefits. So, the most conservative and the safest decision
is try this first.

The general tone of Alex' messages coincides with the tone I found in the
articles and papers he mentions: the cure does exist, but Mexican authorities
are not interested in acknowledging it; American authorities will not recognize
his merits; ...

Nothing he says is necessarly wrong, but suspicious.

In my opinion people should not eat any form of purified or refined sugar.
This includes
fructose. In fact, sucrose, saccharose, glucose, maltose and the several other
ose are
all empty calorie. What this means is very serious. Let's say you eat 100g
of any of
these sugars. You'll get 400 calories, but no vitamins, no minerals, no
proteins, no fat.
You still need such nutrients, so you'll have to eat additional food to get
those elements.
What is worse: your body can not process sugar without consuming enzymes,
vitamins
and minerals, so you'll have to eat MORE in order to compensate for the
nutrients
the empty calorie food used up.

So, you have two good reasons NOT to eat any form of sugar: a) excess calories;
b) nutrients depletion.

Now, fructose, in a sense is better than all the other sugars, the reason being
it has
a low glycemic index, which means it does not play havoc with your
insulin/glucagon
production, as the other sugars do.

So, from the point of view of insulin resistance, fructose is better. From the
point of
view of nutrition, it is the same.

There is another little factor in favor of fructose: since is it 1.5 times
sweeter than
sucrose (table sugar), you would take less to have the same effect, so you tend
to
end up with a little less empty calories.

Now, there is a situation where you should NOT be affraid of fructose: when you
eat
fresh fruits, like apples. In this case you'll be ingesting little fructose
(maybe 15 g)
and it will be accompanied by very important vitamins, minerals, fiber,
enzymes, pectin,
etc. So, go for it!

Again, once fructose is synthesized or extracted from the fruits it is not
good
anymore. Now, if you MUST have something sweet, among the bad stuff,
fructose is the least dangerous.

CSMore on carbs

2000-11-05 Thread Joanne
Joanne ThomasonDear Alex
I NEVER said stop all carbohydrates! What I said was there are simple and
complex carbos and there is a difference between a Snicckers bar and an apple.I
feel like you are advocating any kind of carbo or sugar and maybe it is
language misunderstanding. Your English is certainly better than my Spanish
(in fact the one Spanish phrase I remember would best not be used here) I do
not believe it is good medicine to recommend that your patients take any
carbohydrates they want regardless of the source. And I stand by that.

Part of my frustration probably comes form when I was first diagnosed my doctor
just said lose weight and made me feel this diabetes thing was no big deal.
Well it s was a It has not been until recently I realized just how big a deal
it was. In spite of good numbers I still was not healthy. My goal is not to
cure my diabetes
but to get healthy.

Eating sugar will not help me do that inspite of good numbers easily maintained
with meds. While having good numbers I developed the beginning of kidney
problems. This can happen without even knowing it. There were no symptom, no
blood or pain when peeing etc. Fortunately I have a doctor now that did a
first specimen in the moraing urine test and caught it.Now it is under
control but still I ate sugar. After all the numbers were good.!!!

The book Sugar Blues was recommended to me. I in turn recommend it to you. If
you would like ,send me your snail mail address and I will send you my copy
when it gets here, Then maybe you and I might have an understanding where each
of us is coming from.
At my chiropractors there is a sign that reads

When we can learn from our problems we begin to deal with life.
When we can learn from other peoples problems we can begin to master life

I urge all you diabetics and all others to learn from the problems I have had
and STOP the sugar..NOT the carbohydrates. In fact a majority of your calories
should come from carbs. The figure 60% was given me. If you take a 1000
calorie diet(i know that may not be much, but I can do the math in my head) 600
calories should come from carbs. That's a big salad lots of veggies fruit etc
or 2 Snickers bars. Take your choice. Alex you said the diet must be
balanced..yes it should but NOT with sugar--with complex carbs. If you were a
politician I'd say you had stock in the sugar company(just kidding--only a day
and a half left of those
wonderful political commercials.)

As for the vaccine if I read it correctly you take it for 45 days rest for 15
and then do it for another 45 days. If that is so that would be 31/2 months.
Are you then saying you can still eat all the sugar you want? I think I will
stay with my no sugar and walking at least a mile every day. (That would take
us to Valentines Day, I'll send you a Valentine Alex and let you know how I am
doing)I think I will be in better shape than those that just take a vaccine.
It really surprised me to see some want to jump on the bandwagon for a vaccine
since I have read a lot of anti vaccine posts on this list. Of course it is
easier. I wish I could convey to all with this problem how wonderful I feel
and not just physically.

Alex I went to the site you posted and my heart goes out to that poor child.
You are a good man to want to help her. I can send you some money..After all
I don't buy candy bars anymore.
I hope I have said nothing to offend you, that was not my intention. Have a
good day!
Sincerely Excerpts from Sugar Blues
Joanne
Sugar is worse than nothing because it drains and leaches the body of precious
vitamins and minerals through the demand its digestion, detoxification and
elimination make upon one's entire system.

Excess sugar eventually affects every organ in the body.

Sugar taken every day produces a continuously overacid condition, and more and
more minerals are required from deep in the body in the attempt to rectify the
imbalance.

CSDIABETES AND CARBS

2000-11-03 Thread Joanne
Joanne Thomason Dear Alex and all others who have been writing about diabetes.
First I believe if I remember correctly it is Dr. Alex in which case in my
opinion you are being IRRESPONSIBLE and bordering on Malpractice to tell a
diabetic or anyone for that matter diabetics must eat all the carbohydrates
they want or desire - no restrictions. Did you not learn about simple and
complex carbohydrates. An apple is not the same as Snickers bar., and to
suggest to ANYONE they can have all they want is absurd!
There well may be a vaccine on the way and that would be great. I am all for
it but just because you have a vaccine for diabetes should not mean you should
continue to abuse your body. Just because your blood sugar may test out in the
normal range does not necessarily mean you are healthy. I was 101 last night
and 77 this morning. Pretty good numbers but I am not healthy but I am doing
my best to get there. It is important to monitor your sugars and your diet in
general. I have been off sugar now for only 3 days and I feel wonderful along
with walking. I have cut my meds in half and my goal is to get rid of them all
together with or without a vaccine. Why wait.

Marsha I am really surprised at you and please don't take it to personal but
if you admit you are overweight (me too) and eat a lot of sugar please stop!!!
You are still a young woman.I cannot tell you how wonderful i feel and how
energized I am after only 3 days. Going back to school you need energy and the
best way to get it is to get off of simple carbs (sugar, canny, cookies ets.)
Why don't you and all the others who have this problem join me. I have set a
short tem goal which will be followed by another short term goal. We are
entering the food season here.

Dr.Alex you also said drink lots of water or fluids. I must disagree with
that. WATER YES but fluids can include all kinds of juices full of sugar,
sodas full of caffeine and sugar but water YES.

I forwarded Dr.Alex.s letter to a friend and will forward his response. This
person knows a lot about nutrition and is perfect example of good health. If
you are not interested then please delete--it may get long.

Dr. Alex I did not mean to appear rude or anything I just disagree with you
and I guess we can agree to disagree, I have lived with this thing for a long
time Thank you all for your suggestions and Ted yes please keep me informed
and everyone else too

Sincerely

Joanne

Dear Joanne and all afflicted with diabetes.SORRY, BUT WRONG IN ALL THAT YOU
WROTE!First: diabetes patient must eat ALL the carbohydrates they want or
desire... no restrictions... the problem with diabetes is that the INSULIN is
not working as a transporter From blood to all the tissues and cells to be
burned. You have LOTS of carbohidrates (glucose to be more precise) in your
curculatory system (blood0 but this carbohidrates cannopt get to the cells...
they send to the brain the order for carbohidrates, and you feel hungry
(polyphagia+eat a lot) the carbohidrates in excess in your blood produces a
diuretic effect (polyuria+urinate a lot) and as you are dehidrated with this
your body asks for water, lots of water (Polydipsia+drink a lot of water or
liquids)

Yes, he is right when he says INSULIN is not working as a transporter This is
true for
diabetes type II and this is what I called insulin resitance, that is,
although your
pancreas keeps producing insulin as it should, insulin does not transfer sugar
from the blood into the cells. Then sugar is kept in your blood stream. Your
brain can not tolerate it (your brain is very sensitive to blood sugar
fluctuation!)
so it tries do get rid of it urination and, which brings dehydration, which
brings
the need to drink more water... If this does not work fast enought, you may
faint,
feel feeble, etc.

So, on this front the doctor is completely right. Now, let's go to the the
other
item: is it true that diabetes patient must eat ALL the carbohydrates they
want or desire... no restrictions? No, this is not correct. because if you do
it,
you'll not only suffer with the symptoms already mentioned, but also more
serious things will happen, like myopia or irreversible blindness. But not only
that, your insulin resistance will get worse and worse.

So, in order to revert and eventually cure the disease, you must make
your body work as expected under insulin. In as few words as possible,
your body needs REST. Now, if you eat only low glycemic index carbohydrate,
in moderation, you're pancreas will have to produce less insulin with a better
distribution (say, during four hours after you eat, not during 15 minutes
after you eat). Slowly your cells will become sensitive to insulin again.

It also has been demonstrated that your body is most sensitive to insulin
15 minutes after any aerobic exercise (like a brisk walk or a slow run).
It stays highly sensitive for about 10 to 20

CSdiabetes

2000-11-02 Thread Joanne
Joanne ThomasonHello Gaston and Robert...
I have type 2 diabetes and have had it for years. My BS has been all over the
place but has settled down to 120 or below regularly I am on glyburide also 2
tablets a day, one before eating breakfast and dinner. It was not till I was
also placed on Glucophage that I really got control. I take it after meals, 2
a day or if I feel I have overeaten I take and extra one.
In spite of the fact I have diabetes I still was not taking care of myself as I
should and have eaten more carbs than one should. You know the pills take care
of it and I was under control. (I thought) Beginning Nov, 1 (had to get rid of
the Halloween candy) I gave up all sugar completely. and am trying to
eliminate foods with a high glycemic index.. Interesting info. from a friend
Foods with high glycemlic index are prone to activate diabetes sooner or later.

The more you eat them the more you have to eat It is a real addiction. What
happens is that once you take sugar (and any simple carbohydrate) you'll
immediately produce lots of BS. That's not good for you so your body starts
producing lots of insulin in order to get rid of the sugar. The sugar will be
stored in cells and a few minutes after that your BS will be very low and you
will have to eat immediately. The cycle goes on and on. You'll develop
insulin resistance which means you'll need more and more insulin to get the
same result. Eventually no matter how much insulin your pancreas produces it
will not be enough to lower the blood glucose level. Now you have Diabetes.
You have to break the cycle. Stop eating sample carbohydrates. Fat burning
exercises (walking) helps for different reason, one of them because it lowers
insulin resistance.

I have also started walking each day (VERY IMPORTANT) and I feel great and my
blood sugar averages about 100. What does you wife eat.? You really need to
watch the carbs!! It is good you are interested in helping her control the
diabetes but ,and please do not take this in the wrong way, she also needs to
take control and be responsible for her own treatment. I have since giving up
the carbs and walking and it has only been a couple of days have cut my meds in
half.

I hope you can get this under control. I had a foot infection as a result of
it and have eye problems but I have that under control now.

Good luck and best wishes
