Hi DW.

Check you regulated current level and try to set it for a current density of
1 to 1.2
ma per sq in. a

Add a stir motor and you are home free. Check it for a weak T.E. with a
laser pointer.

The only way to really know the ppm is to have someone check it with an AA
of a
spectrophotometer. I do that for a small fee.

2002-02-13 Thread boberger
Reid,

your problem is that you are not an electrical engineer, and hence are
having difficulty undeerstanding the problem. so I will asttempt to provide
the missing data. Some things you will have to take on faith.

You are puzzled about 109 volts dropping to 82 volts and the current going
from 15 to 55 ma.

What you have is a "constant voltage system" that does not have sufficient
"stiffness" to deliver the current that your cell is demanding. The voltage
drop is due to inadequate wire size in the transformer. If your transformer
had enough "beef" the voltage would have stayed at 109 volts even as the
current increased. It sounds like your transformer has less than a 100 va
rating.

In a "constant current system" set to regulate at 5 ma.the voltage will stay
at about the no load value i.e. say 36 volts as the current increases from
0.20 ma to about 3 ma. then the voltage will start to drop as the current
increases. When the current hits the 5 ma. set limit the voltage will be
about 5 to 8 volts and will stay at that level and the current will stay at
5 ma. Hence the name "constant current."

Realize that when inadequate parts are put together all kinds of screwy
results can and do happen. The amazing thing is that inspite of all of the
"shade tree" engineering or lack of it, people make good CS.

I happen to be a retired registered professional engineer witth degrees in
electronics and power, so I tend to look at things with a different eye.

I hope this clears up things for you.

Trem,

You missed the point. If he is using 110 vdc on one cell, he almost has to be
running a constant current system. We need to check the person's system his is
copying.

Back in February of 1999 when I was investigating 280 to 330 volts in minutes
agglomeration set in ans the CS became like Mississippi river water at 60-100ma.
Then the current leveled off and started back down, and in 60 minutes the CS was
crystal clear and the final current was 1/3 the maximun. The T.E.M> showed
particles of 16 to 86 nm in size.

If you want a copy of the data sheet I will try to scan it for you.

Re: CS>Re: Is everyone on vacation- or conductivity of deionized water

2002-02-12 Thread boberger
Hi Reid,

The two low voltage systems are;
1.) Constant voltage like using several 9 volt batteries snapped to gether
and connected to the silver in the brew cell. the voltage across the cell
stays at constant value of the batteries.

2.) Constant current is were there is an electronic regulator in one of the
wires to the cell that senses the cell current and when it approaches that
limit, the internal electronics places a variable resistance in circuit so
that the current cannot exceed the pre-set value. In this system the voltage
across the cell drops to hold the current at the pre-set value.

Since you are using 110 volts D.C. then you must be using a constant
current mode.

If you have a volt meter then the next time you make a run connect the
voltmeter across the silver electrodes. Set the meter to read a voltage
higher than 110 v.
As the brew progress the volage will stay about constant for a while and
then start to drop. I would guess that its final value will be about 8 to 10
volts.

Hi Reid,

Something may be wrong!!!

Example: when I did my development work on constant voltage CS using 14 oz
of DW using 2 #14 Ag wires 2 1/2" apart the initial current was 0.25 ma
which was the same reading the for the conductivity of the DW as read on my
one cubic centimeter conductivity testor.

The same holds true for the initial readings of constant current systems.
Until the c.c. regulator cuts in there is no difference between the two
systems as far as the current is concerned.

Did you by any chance read the meter incorrectly???

Ask Solar about his SD7 Pro Generator. I tested two of his samples; one was
14.2 PPM and the other 13.4 PPM with almost no T.E. almost as good as HVAC for
ionic content. It is polarity switching with constant stirring. You need to
visit
www.silvergen.com and printout ALL that Trem has to offer. Hi sremarks are well
worth keeping.

As to what you have as far as ppm is concerned until you have it tested with AA
or a spectrophotometer you have no idea what the PPM actually is!!!

As these fudge factors apply to one setup AFTER one knows what the actual ppm
is.

I don't know what is going on, but polarity switching works.

That sounds like what I once had in Honduras. They called it an "nigua". The

To get the egg sack out one must carefully cut the persons skin and lift out the
egg sack.If the sack gets broken then one must swab the hole in the flesh with
iodine and clean it out or the worms will make a new sack and you are back to
square one.

Sounds grousome but it is very real.

To do HVAC one MUST use a neon sign transformer as they are built to handle this

Check my archives Robert Berger.

Trem on his professional machine is using some sort to keep the electrodes clean

In my investagations 3 years ago I determined that 60 sec x 60 sec was ideal. I
investigated 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 , 72 and 120 seconds switching before setling on
60 x 60.

If you are going to do this get the proper equipment.

The best CS made with LVDC has about 80% ionic silver and 20% particles. See

My HVAC ARC CS is 98+ ionic as measured by two independent labs. and the

that has been structured. The T.E. is barely visible in a totally dark room.

Re: CS>More Polarity Reversal Experiments

Hi Steve,

When I was selling polarity reversal generators no one had your kinds of
problems. Everything was metered.

What you missed telling us about is the T.E. and the cell current that you had.

I do not want to be obnoxious but it sounds like your experiment was not
properly conducted. If you did not have a current meter in the system and you
used a Hanna meter to indicate what you were making, you were mislead.

Going back in my archives on 10/27/99 using my EZCS polarity switching
generator, with a DW that had a conductance of
about 0.3 uS/cc I made 16 oz. of 12 PPM (true with spectrophotometer
measurements) in 2 hrs. and 15 min. It had a very very weak T.E. (mostly ionic
silver)

Using a DW with a Conductance of 5.00 uS/cc I made 14.5 PPM in 45 minutes. This
had a strong T.E. indicating many and large particles.

It appears that you had a large amount of agglomeration in your CS because of
lack of knowledge of the cell current.

If you want more data it will have to be off list as the data charts are to
large in Kbytes for the list.

was the possibility of Y2K disaster.

Today we rechecked what we had done to see if it needed upgrading as a
result of possible terrorist attacks. In the package was a 1/2 liter
cola bottle with CS made by the LVDC method but using my polarity
reversal process. (1 1/2" spacing, 26 volts, with a 60 sec X 60 sec
polarity reversal) Date of mfg. 7/29/99 the ppm as measured by my
spectrophotometer was 11.9.

Today I rechecked the CS and there was a slight fallout in the feet of
the bottle, the T.E. was visible in room light and the recheck for Ag+
found the PPM = 19.8 The CS is still crystal clear.

This should answer the question as to how long good CS can be keep!! I
looks like the polarity switching produces a product like fine wine, it
improves with age!!

Hi Dan,

Many of the web sites are full of baloney. Try www.silvergen.com, Trem's
data is very good.

On this list you will get good data. Yellow color indicates that
agglomeration has set in and the particles are large.

A good grade of CS can be made either with constant voltage or constant
current. Constant voltage (3 -9v batteries) requires a little more
attention than the constant current.

What you want is a reasonable PPM with a very weak T.E.. That will
contain more ionic sliver than particles.

Re: CS>colloidal gold.

2002-01-18 Thread boberger
Hi Satchid,

you do not make CG with DC. You need an AC arc underwater.

You can tell CG by its color. It starts out a very pale lavender and increase
to red with ppm.

With a NST you do not need to measure the current (besides it is very difficult
to due at 12 kv) It will run the full capacity of the NST wither 30 ma or 60
ma.

Don't diddle around with DC and low current. It is a waste of time.

Go to WWW.colloidal gold.com andsee what others have done. WE all make CG that
way or slightly modified.

Hi Gaton,

No I have not fiddled with the bubbler concept. If you have anything in the
brew area that produces CO2 it will change the conductivity reading.

A simple test is to measure the conductiviety of some DW that is in a wide
mouth jar every 4 hours that is open to the air and keep a record, and you
will find that the conductivity increases as it adsorbs the CO2 in the air. It
cancome from your breath.

Re: CS>questions: stir vs. bubble

2002-01-18 Thread boberger
Hi Ya'all,

When I developed the stirrer with the RAdio Shack 1 1/2 v dc motor I used a
piece of #14 plastic coated house wire about 3" long. I put a 15 deg bend on the
free end. I slid the copper out about 1/4" and cut it off. the empty end will
push on to the motor shaft. With a 1 1/2 volt battery it woud stir up a storm. I
had to put 3 ohms in series with one motor lead. That unit will stir a gallon
jar with no problems. Be sure that the stirrer is centered between the
electrodes as it purpose is to move the DW fast enough so that agglomeration
does not set in.

The change in your conductance readings with time is due to agglomeration of
silver ions. The amount of silver in the CS does not change with time unless it
plates out on the bottle. This is a very condition.

The very very slight T.E. says that you have a mostly ionic silver solution. We
call it colloidal silver due to custom, but it really is a silver solution. But
at this stage of the game it would be impossible to change custom.

Re: CS>introduction

2002-01-16 Thread boberger
Hi Rob-bac,

Glad to have you on board!!! Good work in getting people started on CS.

As for colloidal gold I have made some neat electrode assemblies that
work very well. On the web there is a system of floating electrodes
which I did not consider satisfactory, as they arc was about 1/4" under
water. So I made mine fixed with the arc about 1" below the surface. The
electrodes had to be shielded with pyrex or quartz tubing (regular glass
wont last) so as to reduce leakage along the electrodes. Also the
electrodes were 1" to 2" 24k gold and the connecting end was brass rod.

You will find that as the DW heats the arc decreases so a method of
cooling is desired.

I will send you a drawing as a separate email as it is too big for the
list to handle.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Suggestion; make a very long cell (2' to 3') from a piece of plastic pipe
the size of your discharge line. Put two pieces of #12

Willy,

CG must be made using a neon sign transformer AC. The NST has built into it a
large amount of reactance so that one can actually short the transformer
withou it blowiong up. Its not recommended. but that property allows the
current to stay the same and the voltage to vary as required. A transformer
froma fuel burner will not last.

To make CG really requires some tooling to make the brew cell.

CS>The American Sentinal & CS

2002-01-10 Thread boberger
Hi Ya'all,

I just read the latest issue of The American Sentinel and their flier on
making colloidal silver.

Mr. Lee Bellinger is pushing for everyone to make their own CS, which is
a very good idea. Unfortunately he is offering a 9 volt unit and
instruction for only $149.00!!

He references the work "Our Mightiest Germ Fighter" as well as several
others.

I applaud him for this but the price is too high. I emailed him and said
so. It will be interesting if I get a reply.

2002-01-09 Thread boberger
Hi ya'all,

The attached .gif file is for work done on 5/3/00 as part of my
investigation of different
CS manufacturing protocols.

This shows the importance of current measuring during brewing. Note that
there is
no run-away of current as the agglomeration limits the current.

The next chart will be for 330 volts DC. and has some very interesting
twists to it.

Hi Ken And All,

The tungsten filament of a light bulb is a varialbe resistor. As it heats up the
resistance increases. It is hard to find a bulb that has less that about 20 ma.
rating, but they are there. When used properly they can act like a ballast lamp
(constant current device), but that takes more skill than is generally in the EE
notebooks. (I designed them for Western Electric)

When in the off state the resistance of a 100 watt 120 v bulb is 10 ohms. When
120 v is applied to it the current spikes and the filament starts getting hot,
sbout 2000 Kelvin. When full on the current is .833 amps and the resistance is
about 144 ohms.
Remember a lamp is pure resistance so power factor does not enter in.

The rain water in KC MO is not useable!!! Too many impurities.

Hi Rich,

Go to Radio Shack and buy their 1 1/2v dc motor for $1.50 glue it on to the lid.

For a stirrer use a 3" length of #14 insulated house wire. Slid the copper out
about
1/4" and cut it off. the other end will slid on to the motor shaft. Put about a
15 deg bend in the far end. Limit the current as the little dude will stir up a

Re: CS>CS & wattage

2001-12-31 Thread boberger
Hi Terry,

I would guess that any voltage within reason could be used to make CS as it
is the energy put into the cell that does the work.
The only problem with 600 v DC might be that the instantaneous energy may be
so high that large "chuncks" are blasted off the wires. To answer that would
be expensive as each set up to arive at an optinum would require a T.E.M. at
$75.00. That would be a whole bunch of money. As mentioned earlier the area
under a current time curve when multip[led by voltage is the energy needed
to make the CS.

It would be a lot of math but it could be worked out.

Re: CS> HVAC

2001-12-30 Thread boberger
Hi Bill,

The high reading of 160 says that you have NO3 and possibly NO2. No question
about it. That is why you cannot use a Hanna meter to measure ppm even
relatively.

I would like a detailed description of your unit as I have never heard of it.

You can measure in 5 ppm jumps using an Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Test Kit
#LR1800. I have calibrated my spectrophotometer to measure it more accurately.
As long as the NO3 PPM is less that 20 to will have no problems if you sell it,
as that is the legal limit. They may have a test kit for NO2 but it might not
work with silver present. As I recall it takes a Hach HR nitrite kit. I beleive
that is a sulfate version. You could call the company and ask.

When swished around in the mouth for 2 or 3 minutes it will etch your teeth. It
can be buffered with potassium citrate. Be careful if you use bicarbonate of
soda as the CS will become sunlight sensitive and turn reddish in color.

How did you measure the pH? I use a digital pH meter.

HVAC ARC is great stuff if you know the pit falls in making it.

CS>LVDC CS plot

Hi Ya'all,

Many moons ago (1998) I made the run of LVDC CS that I have plotted for
you using EXCEL.

So if you have EXCEL on you machine it should open with no problem.

I am new with the Excel graph program and don't know-how to get the
starting point at time zero. If someone knows how I would appreciate a
step by step procedure.

For the uninitiated uG/cc is conductance and that is what a Hanna meter
would have registered for this 11 PPM ionic brew.

I have other data that shows the uG/cc curve bending towards the bottom
of the plot, that is caused by agglomeration.

Re: CS>Re: Poisettia & CS

2001-12-30 Thread boberger
Hi Dave,

I don't really know where to begin But what you are doing is a
disaster!!!

To make HVAC with all of your electrodes wet is the first disaster. My
investigations of two wet (why 4?) was never able to make more that 9
ppm (true not hanna stuff) and it would go yellow or dirty and have
silver drop out. So I abandoned that process.

The cone process where one electrode is wet and the other about 1/8" to
1/4" above the DW surface will make a reasonable CS that has a lot of
partilces in it as witnessed by the bright T.E.

When you made the arc in air the there was a whole bunch of NO3
generated. (note arcing in air is how Dr. Farber before WWI made nitric
acid to explosives.) It also makes NO2 and the twoswithc levels with
time. I will attach a plot of one of my
run made on 11/6/01 and retested yesterday. It is quite revealing.

HVAC ARC when there is a CO2 blanket makes a product that has structured
water and is almost totally ionic. Mine is 98+% ionic as checked by two
labs. The T.E.M. photographs ($75.00 each run) show the size to be 1nm
to 8 nm.

I hve configured my spectrophotometer to measure Ag in ppm , NO3 in ppm,
and NO2 in ppm. I cannot measure silverparticles. that takes an AA, and
they are many kilobucks.

When you get Hanna readings about 100 then you are in the nitric acid
business.

I hope that I have answered you questions.

Yes I will test your product for all three items. The cost will be
$7.50 for the first sample and $5.00 foreach additional sample in the
same shipment. I will need about 2 oz. seal it well and place in a
ziplock baggy for extra security.

2001-12-30 Thread boberger
Hi Rich,

Careless reading! The pure hype is that yellow is best not that yellow does not
exist.

One can get yellow many ways, i.e. just a trace of soap or detergent will make
the CS go yellow. Brewing to long or at too high of a current density, or nor
not stirring.

You do not need to use hot water. Idon't know where that "old wive's tale" came
from but junk it.

I have duplicated every protocol that the listees have come up with in the last
four years, (hundrerds of data logged tests)
and the measured the ionic ppm with my spectrophotometer.

Other people have reported browish clouds forming but I have never seen them.
May be because I have never used heated water. One does not need that speed-up.
It has been reported that microwaved water has some strange characteristics.

I would suggest that you put a current meter in one line and turn off the
voltage when the current reachs about 3 ma.
Also move the electrodes out to about 2 1/2" spacing and add constant stirring
to elminate agglomeration. Air bubble is a poor substitue for stirring as the
action between the electerodes is tooweak.

Yes three 9v Batteriesmakes good CS if you w\follow the proper rules.

How do you make your HVAC??? If it is make by the arc method with an

NO3 !!! that is part of nitric acid.

My HVAC ARC CSmade with a CO2 blanket will have no more and 0.0 to 2.0
ppm of NO3. I have seen some made in ait with 27 ppm of NO3, and that is
disaster.

Since Dr Bill Bagioli and my self developed the HVAC ARC method, please

The least expensive instrument that will actually measure ppm of silver is

It came in yesterday, Thanks.

Testing for pH is of little value with LVDC as they generally come in about 6
hP unless you have low pH DW.

CS>CS Generator design parameters

2001-12-09 Thread boberger
Hi Ya'all,

1). Constant voltage CS generation is plagued with current run-away if
not current metered and supervised. When the current starts to run away
the

2). With constant current the primary consideration is current density
on the silver anode. With the current regulated to one milliampere per
square inch of wet electrode then 10 to 15 ppm with a weak T.E. is
possible., and it is very easy to scale up to larger volumes of DW.

3). My original work with constant current was with 14 oz. of DW in a 16
oz clear plastic SOLO cup from the paper department of the local grocery
store. The cell parameters were 2 1/2" electrode spacing using #14 Ag
.999 purity, with 5" of wet length. (this is one square inch of wet
surface) The mechanical stirrer was between the electrodes to get a
maximun rotating sweeping liquid flow to move out the silver coming off
of the anode. The DC supply was 26 volts and the regulator was set for
one ma.

4). To scale up to one gallon, divide 128 oz/gal. by 14 oz. This yields
a scaling factor of 9.14. To maintain the same conditions
as the original model then one needs 9.14 square inches of wet anode. If
you choose to use sheet material remember that it has two sides and two
edges. Set your current regulator to 9 or 10 ma. and you are in
business.

This is by no means the ultimate in design but will allow one to make a
gallon of 10 to 15 ppm CS that is crystal clear and will be stable and
have a vey weak T.E., in about two hours.

I am sure others have better ideas but I have data plots on what I have
done.

2001-12-06 Thread boberger
Hi Reid,

Some time ago the technical source of light adsorption by particle size was
cited on this list and as Marshall of Roger pointed out the the T.E. is
affected to the first power by the concentartion and the brightness to the
thrid power of the particle size. Alos the color adsorption that happens
when white light is passed through it is a function of particle size.

So a bright T.E. and a green color screams "large particles."

The people on this list have been schooled that color means large particles.

Ivan and Ken et al,

The following is VERY interesting. "Ole Bob" has been fighting a problem in
regards to "introduce Ag+ cations into water, without adding anions." When I
contacted a very brilliant industrial chemist about a problem that I have
with HVAC ARC CS being very low on pH, and told him how I was making it with
only "DW and silver," his very first question was "what is the anion"? There
has to be one!!

The anion just happens to be nitrogen that is dissolved in the water, and it
is almost impossible to remove it.
Hence NO3 is formed. I have tried vacuum boiling of DW, boiling with
heat and covering with Argon and using Argon shields during transfer and
brewing and what do I get 20 PPM of NO3 !!!

If there is an Ag+ cation then there absolutely must be a XX- anion, or the
laws of chemistry have been repelled.

You are right Ivan 2+2 is coming out 3 1/2 !!

2001-12-05 Thread boberger
Nick,

Whose CS are they using and how is it made. If it is commercial and made by the
HVAC ARC method it can have a
pH of 1.9 to 2.2 which is very acid. If the maker used a CO2 gas blanket then
the acid is carbonic like soda pop. but if
the gas cover on the brew cell is air then it is NITRIC ACID, and that is BAD
news.

CS made by the LVDC is basically about 6 pH and should not cause problems. Five
to ten part per million of silver in
distilled water should not have that kind of effect.

Go back in the archives!!! I introduced and sold polarity reversal units

electronic.

To do it with constant current I would have to use a relay for the switch.

What are you using, constant voltage or current? I will setup like I have in
the past when people come up with a new procedures and verify the results.

Have you had a commercial test of the product?

Awaiting your answers.

CS>500 PPM colloidal silver test results

About a month ago someone sent me a sample of a commercial 500 ppm CS.

AS you wll recall there was a post about a week ago that indicated that
three people had aquired argyria throught the use of high ppm colloidal
silver 200 to 500 ppm. That material IS NOT electro-colloid as we on
this list make. So don't get excited about getting argyria from what you
make. You would drownd first.

Hi John,

the stirrer is a 2 1/2" length of #14 insulated copper house wire. Cut the
piece about
2 3/4",then strip off 1/4" so that you cna clamp it in a vise or pliers, and
slide the
insulation off about 1/4". Then cut off the visible copper. Put a 1`5 deg bend
about
3/4" from the end with the copper in it. The other end will pish on to the motor
shaft. You can ho glue or epoxy the motor to the brew cell lid.

The only time I have used H2O2 was in CS studies, and not for consumption.

Re: CS>CS and Argyria

2001-11-29 Thread boberger
Hi John,

Two things;

1.) Chuck the bubbler and go to mechanical stirring with a 1 1/2 v dc Radio
shack
motor. Mechanical stirring has more action between the electrodes than does
bubbling, and makes a better product. Check the T.E.'s to see which is weaker
for
the same brew time. Stronger the T.E. the more particles and less ionic silver
(that is what your PWT's measure).

2.) When I add H2O2 to my HVAC ARC CS that has no T.E., instantaneously there is
formed a strong T.E. which says that agglomeration has set in in a big way.

I hope this helps your understanding.
