This can be done without using a relation. Multipolygons are widely used for landuse but this is the first I see as a relation ... Re: [OSM-talk-be] Brussels and Belgium
Article 127 defines the Dutch-speaking community as covering the Dutch language area plus the Bilingual Brussels-Capital area, and the French-speaking community as covering the French language area and Bilingual Brussels-Capital area. So the Bilingual Brussels-Capital is covered by 2 communities. That's not what my copy of the constitution says. In my version that article defines where the community has something to say. For Brussels it says that institutions that should be considered part of a community should follow the decrees of that community. For instance, a Dutch-speaking school should follow the decrees of the Flemish Community, while a French speaking school should follow those of the French community. It does NOT define a geographic extent of the communities (André is correct that they don't have a geographical definition). It only limits the geographical region of competence for the communities but does not imply that everything in that region (in particular in the Brussels part of the geographical region) belongs to a certain community. If you really want to use it as a geographical definition for the communities, why would you use the one from art127 and not the ones from articles 128 or 129? - Thor Heyerdahl ___ Talk-be mailing list Talk-be@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-be

This is not the case with communities. If some people want to map them, I think we should use different key than those existing now; they are not appropriated and we are, maybe, an unique case in the world.
Hi All Finally found the AU OSM list! I'm currently doing a bit of work with OSM for a client and I've stumbled on a problem I had some time ago. Gold Coast suburbs are completely wrong! I'm pretty new to OSM - so forgive my ignorance here, but from what I can see the administrative boundary for suburb is just set from a point and it just calculates your suburb from the nearest administrative point. So I live in Parkwood (no point has been set for this), my street comes up as Nerang and the street next to me comes up as Helensvale! If I was to get hold of proper suburb boundaries from the council - is there any way to even enter it? I can't quite see how. Has anyone in other cities done this? I did see some reference to Adelaide in the list archives but as I've not done a lot of geospatial work some of the terms and formats were new to me. There is quite a bit of support for Open Data at the moment in Gold Coast City council, so would appreciate any advice from other contributors on the best format for data, best way to get this data into OSM (if possible) and how best to work with the council. I would really like to encourage OSM usage more in my local area - but with a fundamental problem like this - it's a bit embarrassing. My general response to things like this is to use RMS's words We can fix that! but I'm a little stumped here on how to go about it, so any help appreciated. Many thanks Steve -- Refactor. Hi Steve, A similar discussion occurred as recently as Sep 2012 but my review of that suggests no absolute resolution occurred. I'd suggest having a read (you might have already) as its an indicator of the due diligence applied to externally sourced data(sets). http://openstreetmap-australia.2291470.n4.nabble.com/talk-au-suburb-boundaries-td4641332.html Setting aside the points made in that linked discussion and to address your question directly. The data is available over at data.qld.gov.au right now (Search for Locality boundaries - Queensland) All data from the qld site is shared under a Creative Commons (CC-BY-3.0 AU) licence but as I understand it this is at odds (or is at risk of being at odds) with the Open Database Licence Compliant (ODbL) You might have spotted my earlier introduction to Talk-au where I note that I have requested explicit permission to use the data from this source. See: http://openstreetmap-australia.2291470.n4.nabble.com/talk-au-data-qld-gov-au-explicit-permission-request-td4642067.html Not much in the way of outcomes for you but hopefully a little more context for further consideration. What is the basis for splitting the trail into state sections, and putting three relations into another reln? I don't think relations of relations is well supported, and I can't see the motivation for it here. Ian. On 22 November 2013 20:52, Mander Li mander...@yahoo.com.au wrote: I tried to create a Bicentennial National Trail relation, but found 4 relations of this name: Relation 176684: created in July 2009 by John Henderson with route=hiking. This covers 213km from Canberra CBD to Taralga (half way between Canberra and Sydney) Relation 2347837 created on 13/8/2012 by Nick Barker with route=hiking. This covers about 95% of VIC section, 40% of Canberra section, 2% of NSW section, 1% of QLD section. Total 715km of which 53km of the Dargo High Plains Road is not part of the BNT Relation 2347838 created on 13/8/2012 by Nick Barker with route=bicycle. This is almost the same as Relation 2347837 (with less ways and without the 53km of Dargo High Plains Road). Total 645km. Relation 2347839 created on 13/8/2012 by Nick Barker with route=mtb. This is the same as Relation 2347838. Question for Nick Barker: Why 3 relations? BNT is a trail for walkers, MTBers, and horses, so these 3 relation will be the same. Question for John Henderson and everybody: what should be the route type (route=hiking, bicycle or mtb) when the trail is for walkers, MTBers and horses? I suggest: 1. Relation 2347837: to be renamed as Bicentennial National Trail - VIC section; and remove sections in other states 2. Relation 2347838: to be renamed as Bicentennial National Trail - NSW section; remove sections in other states; and merge with Relation 176684 3. Relation 2347839: to be renamed as Bicentennial National Trail - QLD section; and remove sections in other states 4. Relation 176684: remove all sections; put Relations 2347837, 2347838, 2347839 into it as members; ie this relation will become a super-relation with 3 relations as member 5. Change all 4 relations to have tags: route=mtb, foot=yes and horse=yes IMHO, this is becasue 1) BNT is for road bikes, 2) trails for hiking may not allow MTB, 3) 99.9% of trails that allow MTB also allow walkers, 4) it allows the tags mtb:difficulty=advanced, and mtb:type=crosscountry as in now Relation 2347838 John Henderson, you won't be able to see the trail at hiking.waymarkedtrails.org, but it will be at mtb.waymarkedtrails.org. [talk-au] South Australia - Public Transport / OSM data
Hi all, I was lucky enough to get in contact with Alex Sims who is the local OSM contact for media here in SA. I'm working on supporting one of our Public Transport Initiatives Open Trip Planning which uses OSM mapping data, and looking to the community for support to enhance the current mapping data available for metropolitan South Australia. Currently we've identified that there are several areas of OSM which require tagging for pedestrian access, which impacts our open trip planning routing options. * Street Address Limitations ( missing streets and street numbers) * walking paths data not included across many of the highways (North East and Main North Gepps cross) connected to transport infrastructure, such as railway stations, and bus interchanges. Grange is a hot spot, as has been Aldinga, Blackwood and Belair, Mclaren vale ( which looks like its improving) and some areas around * Southern and Northern suburb areas not detailed * Smaller Shopping Centres, Councils and other places of interest not named. I'd be very happy to help as I am also involved with the Government Open Data program at http://data.sa.gov.au/ I'm keen on building some good relationships with contributors and application developers so would like to gather some more support for OSM in South Australia. [Talk-de] OpenStreetMap und Bürgerbus
Hallo! Danke!
___ Talk-it mailing list Talk-it@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-it

Re: [Talk-ro] Cine mi-a taiat padurea?
