[Texascavers] Update to TSA mailing address

2022-01-15 Thread Heather Tucek
For those who use USPS to send checks to the Texas Speleological
Association for membership renewal, we have a new address! The TSC is
graciously allowing us to use their address as a permanent location rather
than the PO Box on UT campus (since UTG doesn't meet at UT anymore, this
only makes sense.

The new address is:
Texas Speleological Association
14045 N Green Hills Loop
Austin Texas 78737

But as always... it's faster to pay online. ;)

Dear Friends of Honey Creek,

Last week a few people received notices that Silesia had applied for a new
Texas Land Application Permit (TLAP) for Honey Creek Ranch. You can read the
notice
here.
You can see the Affected Landowner Map
here
 and the Groundwater Quality Report
here.
 You can see more information
here
under "Honey Creek Waste Water Permit".

This means that the clock starts over as this is an application for a new
permit. We all need to respond with comments and request a public meeting for
Proposed Permit # WQ0015835001

You may also request a contested case hearing. To do so, you must include your
name, address, applicants name (Silesia Properties LP) and Proposed Permit #
WQ0015835001, the location and distance of your property/activities relative to
the proposed facility, a specific description of how you would be adversely
affected by the facility in a way not common to the general public, a list of
all disputed issues of the fact that you submit during the comment period, and
the statement "I request a contested case hearing".

If a contested case hearing is granted, the subject of the hearing will be
limited to disputed issues of fact or mixed questions of fact and law related
to relevant and material water quality concerns submitted during the comment
period. So, make sure that all your concerns are stated in this communication.

You may submit your comments
on-line

by entering WQ0015835. Or you can mail comments to TCEQ Office of the Chief
Clerk, MC-105, PO Box 13087, Austin, Texas 78711-3087.

TCEQ will hold a public meeting if the Executive Director determines that there
is a significant degree of public interest in the application or if the
requested by a local legislator. Requests to Representative
Beidermann,
 Senator
Campbell,
 and Comal County
Commissioners
asking them to contact TCEQ to request a public meeting would be helpful.

We had a great meeting at the Mammen Public Library on December 4th. In
addition to the new permit, we discussed reports that bull dozers began
clearing on the site, in violation of the City of Bulverde's Tree ordinance.

* Fundraising: To date $23,555 has been raised assuming we meet the $15,000
match. We still need to raise $7,455 to secure the full match.

Brie Jameson and Joyce Moore will work on fundraiser at Honey Creek Cave. This
would be a high dollar ticket event. (Thank you, Joyce and Brie!)

Julie Whittaker: reported on bids for SAVE HONEY CREEK signs and Facebook info
with block font in med blue.

Lone Star Reprographics: 4'x8' fence signs in Coroplast. $112 each, 50 Yard
signs $10.50 each, stakes $1.50 each and Fast Signs: 4'x8' banner with
grommets $145.13 each, 50 Yard signs with stakes $14.80 each. It was agreed
that we would get the best bang for the buck by ordering four 4' x 8' fence
signs to display at strategic locations.

Thanks to all of you for your efforts to date. Our next meeting will be at
6:00 p.m. on Tuesd

[Texascavers] Update on my last post

2019-02-16 Thread David
>From David Locklear
( Probably should hit the Delete Button )

I know that I said that I was bailing out on the former caver in a crisis.

But I found some info today on her boyfriend's Facebook page.
He announced his engagement to someone ( maybe her ?? ) on February 8th.
There are three toxic post from him ( ranting to himself ?? ) about the her
on Christmas Eve, but no ither Facebook users commented.

There are no post at all from her to him "ever," that I can see on my end.
Also, he has few Facebook people responding to his post and he post
everyday, suggesting he might have a loose marble. Looking at his Facebook
history, he is just a typical redneck - meaning nothing stands out - other
than his recent obsession for her.

He has not responded to my messages raising concern. Yet he post some b.s.
everyday.

He is the only lead - if she is indeed in trouble.

It has been over 24 hours since I raised an alarm.

Maybe she is just shopping for a wedding-dress, and no longer has Internet
access ?

But my sixth sense smells something abnormal. There are no normal
pictures of him and her as a couple or any mention of her as a person like
a normal Facebook user would post.

One odd thing, is that she has been obsessed with posting for years, and
suddenly nothing for 10 days. And no proof any of her post in the past 7
weeks were really actually her. Meaning, in theory, this could be bad.

Again, I see no way to file a missing persons report.

[Texascavers] Update on the Thailand cave rescue - Day 10

2018-07-02 Thread Lee H. Skinner
This evening I watched as the story unfolded on CBS, NBC and ABC.  I
thought ABC had the most detailed and interesting information:

ABC Evening News:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZChoyCwgnkc

It's not over by any means yet.   Some boys may have to be trained to
swim.  A medic diver is with them.  And the distance underwater is long
to the entrance.  If possible, a shaft may have to be drilled in a
sloping jungle.

Hypothermia is not as problem as the cave is near 100 deg F. But more
monsoon rains may be coming.

[Texascavers] "Update" -Soccer team trapped in flooded cave complex in Thailand

Hi Dwight,

The cavers here are doing what we can to help. One expat British caver lives
near Tham Luang and knows the cave well. He has been working with the Thai
authorities about the rescue. I have facilitated contacts through the Thai
government to request for an experienced group of British cave divers to come
and assist (if they want assistance).

Let's hope they are found and rescued.

Cheers, Terry

The boys' bicycles and soccer boots were found at the mouth of the Tham Luang
caves, in the northern province of Chiang Rai, after they went missing late on
Saturday.

They were believed to have been trapped by rising waters inside the cave
network when heavy rain hit.

Members of a navy "seal" unit including a team of divers, are searching the
cave system.

"The team went down to a depth of 5 metres (16 feet) and found a large chamber
... but we've found no trace of the children," the navy unit said on its
Facebook page.

A navy commander overseeing the search said he was hopeful the 12 twelve boys
and their 20-year-old coach would be rescued.

"I believe they're all still alive but they might be exhausted ... we should
get good news today," Rear Admiral Arparkorn Yookongkaew told Reuters.

People wanting to explore the cave are meant to get permission. Thailand is in
the middle of its rainy season when caves can flood.

some physical therapy in a rehab facility for about another week, to build up
his strength. He has his ipad, laptop and phone with him, but just doesn't want

[Texascavers] update on Charlie Yates

2016-08-13 Thread Logan McNatt via Texascavers

Ron Fieseler called this morning. No dates yet for memorial(s). There
may be two--one for his statewide compadres of Texian reenactors,
Republic of Texas history buffs, and black powder folks--and another one
for cavers. A new Facebook group was established recently by Paula Good
called Southwest Texas State Friends, and has some old photos of Charlie
and other cavers in the 1970s.

For those of you who never had the pleasure of knowing him, here is a
link to an entertaining 2011 video by Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department called Charlie and His Cannon. You will see why he will be
missed by everyone who knew him.

[Texascavers] update - Exploration diver dies in Santa Rosa’s Blue Hole

2016-04-04 Thread via Texascavers

New post on Route 66 News

Exploration diver dies in Santa Rosa’s Blue Hole
by Ron Warnick

A diver with an exploration team died Saturday after an apparent accident deep
in the underwater caverns of the famed Blue Hole of Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

Shane Thompson, 43, of San Diego, an experienced diver with the ADM Exploration
Foundation , died Saturday after he went missing during his team's
much-anticipated exploration of the Blue Hole's caverns more than 160 feet
below the surface, according to today's print edition of Guadalupe County
Communicator, based in Santa Rosa.

The newspaper reported another experienced diver with the team, Mike Young,
nearly died Saturday as well during a "chaotic series of events" at the end of
the team's mission.

The exploration turned into a recovery mission for Thompson's body. His remains
eventually were brought to the surface Easter Sunday.

The tragedy over the weekend occurred 40 years after two Oklahoma scuba divers
died in the Blue Hole's underwater caverns in March 1976. It took New Mexico
State Police divers weeks to recover one of the bodies. After that, the city of
Santa Rosa installed a safety grate over the entrance to the caverns at the
Blue Hole's bottom.

The ADM team recently received permission from the city to explore the Blue
Hole's many caves.

After Thompson's body was brought to the surface, ADM's divers helped the city
reinstall the safety grate. It's doubtful the city of Santa Rosa ever will
again let anyone try to explore the Blue Hole's underwater caverns.

The Blue Hole is a natural, 80-foot-deep sink that spews 3,000 gallons of water
a minute. It's known for its clear waters and constant 62-degree temperature.
It's been a popular recreational spot since the 1970s for Route 66 travelers
and non-66ers alike. The Blue Hole's depth also makes it useful for scuba-diver
training.

 Hello Texas Cavers!

I am about to put out a call shortly for TSA convention speakers, but
since this listserv turned into "MalloryTex" temporarily for a couple of
months there last summer, I just wanted to kind of address my situation and
get it out of the way first. :)

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! For everything--all your caring, your
support, your interest, your patience, all the gifts/donations I recieved
from grottos and cavers in this state. I cried a lot of sad/confused tears
in the hospital, but a lot of happy tears after I saw the outpouring of
support this community sent my way. SO cool.

It's been a rough, messy year, and there's a lot still to come. For
example, the guy who hit me hasn't been convicted yet (due to endless court
resets), and there will be several court dates coming up in the coming
months, perhaps years, and for that reason I really don't want to put much
about the details of my recovery on a public listserv. However, when this
whole situation is resolved, rest assured I will shout the happy events
from the rooftops. Or maybe the top of some rope, in a pit. :) Regarding
caving, it'll be some time before I'm in the shape I used to be in, but I
am in a program called "Strength Unlimited" to try to work on some of the
physical damage from the incident, and I'm pleased with it so far. The
prognosis is WA more positive than it was last summer. :) I graduated
rehab Dec. 19th, so I do have some physical therapy/emotional therapy to
continue with, but the worst/biggest part is over. I hope to see many of
you at the TSA convention this spring. Besides being thrilled to actually
be able to make it, I'm especially excited for this convention because Rex,
my partner in survival, will be attending! This will be his first caving
gathering of any sort, and he's looking forward to seeing what I've been
rambling on about for months. So please volunteer to speak if you've got
cool content! I can guarantee at least two appreciative spectators. :)

Often, I feel a lot like a boxer after they just got
suckerpunched...confused, reeling, but ultimately just trying to get back
on my feet and soldier on. And I want to thank all of y'all for helping me
make that happen, and for reminding me who I was, and still am.

cafe to the Grotto (cave club) meeting and then back again after the meeting to
the Posse for a cold beer, the first alcohol of any kind I'd drunk since the
fall. Yesterday I had a Ranger beer and hardly noticed it. Also, last Wednesday
I got Galen to cut off the skraggly-ass hair I'd been growing since the 2012
NSS Convention. The last few days I've had but very little sensitivity to any

be mending beyond my expectations. Maybe I'll be ready to get back to physical

Jalapeno, brother

Since this is a caving accident report (to date in 4 posts), inquiring minds
want to know what caving gear you were wearing/utilizing at the time of the
in-cave accident?

How close were you to the drop while wearing your cave gear?

If didn't have on a helmut, why not? Gotta teach the youngin's proper caving
techniques.

Congratulations on not caving alone and having folks at the ready to call 911.

Now you and Mal can exchange stories about your BMs after a serious accident.

I saved all of these (and her) reposts of reports and deeply appreciate them,
and can't wait to put the compilations together for y'all's reading pleasure.

Seriously, I am really glad you are safe and healing quickly. You don't get out
of that trip out west
with me this easily.

Tho you have a fantastic cadre of caregivers, please don't hesitate to contact
me if you need anything. I live and work in North Austin near 290 and 35.

UPDATE some more:
Tomorrow will be 2 weeks. I went to my personal doc last Tuesday. I had
improved maybe 80% (I thought) from the day I fell. The ER had sent her all the
reports so we discussed them. I went home; Crystal drove both ways. I had not
had a BM in a week so laxatives were tried without success. In addition to
spells and potions nothing seemed to work until the enema was tried. It worked.
And worked again. That changed my attitude several hundred percent. My most
recent response to questions about how I'm doing is that I feel about 96%
better--or 67% if the drugs are not considered. I have on a couple of occasion
forgotten a dose and felt bad for it--both physically and mentally bad. I think
most of the ribs and muscles have moved back into positions relative to their
normal positions of function but are waiting to heal themselves more better. I
changed drugs on Sunday and feel they are a lot more friendly although they're
a little too strong to allow me to drive a car (unless it's somebody else's
car). There have been many and much appreciated visitors and bearers of food. I
have not been able to eat it all. A bowl of Thai Yellow Curry was eaten with
mucho gusto. Yesterday (or Sunday evening) I began to feel enthusiastic about
cooking again. I think the enema had something to do with it.
In general, I think most of the minor damage has healed or is in the final
stages of healing. The more severely fractured, smashed, and broken parts are
slowly mending themselves but, as all warnings have mentioned, ribs take a long
time to heal. I can now take full breaths and can cough fairly normally, up to
an 80% or so range. I haven't really had to have a hard cough yet--say
Jalapeno, brother. Just walking produces some minor interior pain on the left
rear quarter to remind me to take it easy. Otherwise, if I sit still, I'm
unaware that anything ever happened. I just noticed that the pain pills I'm
taking are the same ones prescribed for my 15-pound weenie dog. I'm gonna
recommend she doesn't drive either.

[Texascavers] Update 2

2013-08-13 Thread Gill Edigar
This is from 5 August, I think, from fb ->
August 5
**
UPDATE: I'm a terrible pill-taker. I forgot to take pain meds last evening.
Sketchy sleeping all night anyway--not really in any pain unless I
moved--even then it was minor. Woke up this morning in a funk. Still forgot
about pills. Was reminded of pills--oh yeah-duh--so took some. Ate food.
Drank water and coffee. Snapped out of it. One of the little joys of this
business is the occasional snap and pop of a displaced part moving back to
the spot where it's supposed to be and the subsequent diminishment of the
pain it was causing when I moved. My 'main pain' did that this morning.
Transitioning up and down from a laying/sitting/standing position was done
with much fear and loathing of the great and momentarily severe pain that
developed if not done just right. This morning all that seemed decreased by
about 90%--a major contribution to better attitude. Also, less pain with
deep breaths and the few minor coughs I've had. I call it all progress. Now
that the drugs have kicked in so has the drowsiness so my emails may turn
to more gibberish than normal. I have an appointment with my regular doc
tomorrow morning to familiarize her--Sara--with the trials and tribulations
of the past few daze and to see what we need to do to carry on.

Update from Steve (her Daddy): "As of 8:30 this morning, Mallory is showing
signs of life. She responds to poking and prodding, and has opened her eyes,
moved her fingers and hands, and moves her tongue in an attempt to get the
feeding tube out of her throat. She's not awake, but her brain is operating
and now that the paralytics are gone, she can move a little. She is still on
a strong dose of sedative, as they do not want her coming around too fast.
(The stuff she's on is propofol, same as what killed Michael Jackson. It's
one of those "do not try this at home" deals.) On the negative side, she has
a slight case of pneumonia, and that's being treated with antibiotics.
There's also a few other problems, but nothing spectacular. All in all, it's
an improvement. The doctors don't want us getting too optimistic, but Vickie

Thanks, Roger. We continue to pray, and ask others to join us, outside the

Do you have any information on how her friend is doing? They were leaving a
wedding reception? Have seen nothing more about him. Would like to give a name
to his prayer requests.

Pass our continuing support on to the family.

[Texascavers] Update on the condition of Mallory Mayeux from her mother, Vickie Mayeux

2013-07-16 Thread caverarch

Following is an update on the condition of Mallory Mayeux from her mother,
Vickie Mayeux. The short summary is that while her condition requires constant
adjustment, there are thankful signs of improvement. And good news such as that
her lungs remain clear, with no signs of pneumonia. Caver are united in sending
our love to the family, and we hope to hear of continued improvement.

Roger

Hi Everyone,

Today was better. Generally, her pressure stayed OK longer before needing
intervention. This morning they took her off sedation for as long as they could
and they did get an arm twitch and she was breathing on her own some.
Yesterday, they got no response, so this is an improvement. Her heartbeat got
too low so they gave medicine to raise it, but that caused her brain pressure
to go up so they adjusted things again. Truthfully, all day long they are
constantly adding and subtracting medicines, draining fluid occasionally, and
checking all sorts of things I would have never thought of. At least she is
tolerating the interventions and they are able to keep the pressure at an OK
level.

They still have her body temperature at 92 degrees. There is a problem with the
feeding tube. They will probably have to remove and replace it. This will
aggravate her body and will probably raise brain pressure that will have to be
dealt with. If they don’t do this tonight, they will tomorrow. We are still in
the peak swelling time, so we just have to be patient, no matter how hard it
is. Her lungs are clear which is good - don’t want pneumonia to develop.

Today was much calmer and things seemed more stable even with the constant
changes. The nurse, doctors, and everyone else are phenomenal. She is in the
right place. Her coworkers have been great. I am glad we did the stem cell
research. Hopefully, it will help her, but they have already helped me. They
are so many research people monitoring, talking to us, answering questions, and
giving advice. The head of the project gives me so much time, and won’t leave
until I actually thank him and send him off. When he realized there was a news
video, he looked it up. These people are very professional and smart, well
trained.

I am so grateful to all of you for all your prayers and spreading the news. I
know there are many people you have asked to pray for Mallory. She needs every
prayer she can get. We have a long way to go.

Love you all, Vickie

[Texascavers] update

2013-05-14 Thread Karen Perry
Here's the updated
scoop...
I was scheduled to have surgery on the right knee
again, # 3, on this Thursday. OWCP Dept of Labor did not approve pending more
information. That request led to me having a bone scan that came
out with bad results. The surgery is now slated for the 23rd, next
Thursday. It may be a simple fix, but the doc, radiologist & I are
expecting for the not good version. That means everything that was done
last summer has to come out and be replaced. The scan also showed
infection in the prosthetic which can/may effect the heart and kidneys.

The dr. says I only have a 6 month window at getting this fixed before I either
become handicapped or end up having to possibility loose the leg. This is
only a brief description of what I may be facing. I ask  for prayers... Not
only for me but to guide the
doctor so I can FINALLY get this damned knee fixed! If any one can
plan on coming down Carlsbad way or that is local during the recovery period,
IF it is
going to be long, and help with my Mom I would greatly appreciated that. She is
not able to drive and we do have doctor appointments lined up
for her, not to mention the daily needs that will need looking after. Gosia,
Jenny & Emily are already on line to help but I may be in need of more help.
That is yet to be seen. I
can not stress how serious this is..
There is a possibility the knee could kill me. I am not being an alarmist here,
only realistic based on Dr report.

And just think all this because of  a bad supervisor out at the park who
did not want to take action at the time or do her job!
YES I am now getting VERY ANGRY!

[Texascavers] Update of British expedition to Sistema Huautla

2013-03-23 Thread Speleosteele
This was just posted on the Huautla Cave Diving Expedition Facebook page:

Earlier this week the dive team returned from beyond the sump after
spending one week camping and exploring. After compiling survey data we can
report that Sistema Huautla is now 1,545m deep. Sump 9 was pushed to a length
of
410m and depth of 81m on the final dive. In addition to this 1,774m of new
dry passage was surveyed although no bypass to Sump 9 could be located.
This makes the total extra survey length 2,184m. The new depth of Sistema
Huautla makes it the deepest cave in the Western hemisphere.

[Texascavers] Update on Vienna Airport for International Congress of Speleology

2012-10-13 Thread Katherine Arens
Dear all,
am sitting in the Vienna Airport in Austria on the free wireless to recommend
this airport to you all. It just increased size by 2/3 and efficiency a
thousand-fold -- lots of screening lines, huge duty free, etc. Food at duty
free, not much after (watch that).

Travel tips:
1) bring your atm card. Works in major banks with good rates.
2) call your credit card company to remind them where you'll be so you don't
get a hold put on it.
3) for most of us, our credit cards will NOT work in some merchants --
European credit cards work with chips in them, we're behind the times.
Anywhere catering to tourists ok, local shops sometimes not.
4) Austria -- land of candy and cake. Buy it at the local grocery store, not
the tourist areas (same brands)

[Texascavers] Update on Congressional funding for WNS from Peter Youngbaer

2012-02-23 Thread R D Milhollin
I thought it would be helpful to post some information about

Congressional and Administrative funding for WNS, just to set some
context for the overall discussions about WNS.

As we reported earlier, the Federal Fiscal Year 2012 budget act ,
which finally passed in late December for the fiscal year that began
Oct. 1, 2011, contained $4 million for WNS in the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife budget. This was not new money, but a Congressional
directive to spend the $4 million out of the USFWS' Recovery funds.
This means that other activities they had been planning had to take a
back seat.

In January, President Obama presented his 2013 budget proposal, and
it includes $1.875 million for WNS in the USFWS budget - again from
Recovery funds. The U.S. Geological Survey budget also includes $1
million for WNS research. We don't have details yet, so the funding
source is unclear. This is the first time that WNS has been
specifically mentioned in the President's proposed budget.

Now, this is an election year, and many Washington observers feel
that Congress will not pass many agency budgets, rather choosing to
operate once again on continuing budget resolutions until after the
November election. This process typically level-funds budgets from
the prior year for short periods of time, until a comprehensive
budget act/compromise passes. This process essentially hijacks the
normal committee review of programs and budgets, meaning testimony
and advocacy efforts can be largely irrelevant.

That said, we are aware that at least some Congressional committees
and staff continue to work on WNS. We are expecting a hearing in the
Senate Agriculture Committee sometime in the second half of March.

In the meantime, and also to help provide context for all the WNS
discussions, a large collaborative of environmental organizations
have produced a lengthy document called the Green Budget for a number
of years. This year's version contains a few mentions of WNS,
including a separate section specifically on WNS. Here's a link to
the entire document:
https://soe.salsalabs.com/o/1/images/GreenBudget2013.pdfThe main
write-up is pp. 12-22 and 12-23 (pp. 247-248 of the PDF). I would
urge everyone to read at least that section to see what is being said
about WNS.

Going back to the $4 million appropriation made in December, we don't
yet have any details on how or when that funding will be used or
distributed. There was a prior Request for Proposals by USFWS for
research projects totaling up to $1 million due Dec. 4, with awards
expected to be announced this month (February) with project start
dates expected around May 1. If history is any guide, the $4 million
will be split between agency management activities, state grants, and
competitive research, but the funds will take up to a year or more
before they hit the street.

Again, my purpose in posting this information is to make folks aware
of the overall context in which WNS responses are taking place.

[Texascavers] Update on Devetashka Cave

2011-11-15 Thread Lee H. Skinner
The Regional Environmental Inspectorate in the Northern Bulgarian town
of Pleven will fine Bulgarian-based NU Boyana Film Studios for cutting
down the vegetation surrounding the nearby Devetashka cave.

The Devetashka cave is to host parts of the shooting of "The Expendables
2", an action movie which stars Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold
Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris among others

Under the Bulgarian environmental legislation, NU Boyana Film Studios
faces a fine ranging from the mere BGN 500 (approximately EUR 250) to
BGN 5 000. The region was inspected after a signal was filed by the
local Green Balkans NGO.

Besides the tiny fine, the producers of "The Expendables 2" face the
rage of Bulgarian environmentalists who are concerned that the shooting
of the movie may have fatal consequences for the bats inhabiting the cave.

The cave is considered to be one of the most important natural habitats
of bats in Europe.

The bats are currently preparing for their winter sleep and any
disturbance may have fatal consequences, the environmentalists believe.
Some 13 endangered species of bat inhabit the cave.

hopefully around 10:30 am with a snack time following the service in the
FellowShip hall. The service will only be the service with no speaches just the

following the service .Services will be held at the Alamo Heights Presp. Church

Good afternoon.

A note from Antonio Aguirre on the end of operations in Zongolica:

"The patient was out of the cave by 00:30 hrs. He was transported to
Zongolica to receive medical attention and fortunately he is doing well,
only badly bruised, as would be expected, since he rolled down a 15 m
incline and then fell into a 30 m pit. A doctor was lowered first and he
was with the patient throughout the rescue. The personnel is going back
to their homes."

[Texascavers] UPDATE: Austin Cave Festival CANCELLED & rescheduled

2009-10-29 Thread Jules Jenkins
Hi folks,

We’re making the call.
It’s pouring rain here at the office.  This is a really tough decision to
make because of the level of effort we’ve all put into making Cave Fest a
success.  After spending time at the preserve and under current
conditions, we don’t have the resources to remediate after a wet Cave Fest
(think ACL)

Cave Fest is
officially cancelled for this weekend due to wet conditions.  We’re going
to reschedule for Groundwater Awareness Week’s Saturday.

Please mark your calendars for a great spring Cave
Festival—Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Please let all your volunteers
know.  We’ve attached a cancellation flyer, too.  Please post and
share!

Our website is updated.
Cancellation flyers are posted at the preserve.  And we’re meeting with
KXAN to talk about Cave Fest and the recent rains, so notice will likely go out
on tonight’s news also.

If you get calls, feel free to
route them to Jules at 289-1336.  She’ll have her cell on all Saturday.

THANK YOU ALL!

So long as you stick to email you'll keep them perfectly confused.
Most have not a clue. Even with a name like Stefan That's not
saying we're not easily confused as it is, just look at the sort of

[Texascavers] Update on Donna Mosesmann

2007-09-06 Thread Kevin McGowan
Many cavers have met Donna and deserve to know her condition.

I spoke with Donna's daughter, Amy, this morning. She told me that Donna's
condition has deteriorated very quickly in the past few days. They are
trying to treat her pain, which is substantial. She is unconscious most of
the time and in hospice care.

They will keep me up to date and I'll pass on any information.

I told Amy that Donna has many caver-friends across Texas who care very much
for her and that our thoughts and prayers are with Donna and her family. Our
thoughts are with you too Jim.

Amy asked that I post this note to Texascavers.
