Would someone know how to use itunes again?

It used to work but now it wants you to sign up for a monthly charge.

There is a one week trial but you know how it can be tough to cancel the trial.

I Tunes 12.7

I have upgraded my I Tunes to 12.7. I thought that there was something that 
I should watch out for when using it. For example, when restoring the 
phone, should I take any extra steps to protect ring tones or other files? 
Any help would be appreciated.

The Bard Mobile app does not provide for recovery of any books following a 
restore regardless of the type of backup you're restoring. That is one of the 
limitations of the app. If you know you'll be getting a new device or restoring 
a backup to a device, you'd be wise to make note of any books in BARD Mobile 
you'll want after the restore as well as any reading positions in any of those 
books you've started reading. Bard Mobile will contain no content after the 
restore.

Not all content will be captured in a backup. Apps will be reinstalled 
for example and music needs to be resynced.

really understand it. What is the ideal setting for locking or never locking or 
manually locking your home screen.

Hello Deidre,

In the latest version of iOS, VoiceOver no longer states that the screen is 
being locked.  Now, there is only a tone/chime indicating this.  

The amount of time that the screen remains unlock can be configured in the 
display area of Settings.

was not turned off breaking the link to I Cloud. They also wanted the phone 
reset to factory defaults, and stripped of the sim card. I worried that if the 
phone would not turn on which was the original problem, that if I had already 
turned find my iphone off, then I would not be able to do anything more 
remotely that would affect that phone. That juggled around in my head for 
awhile while I tried to decide what to do first. Come morning, the phone better 
turn on and once on, down it goes, and into the return envelope it will go.

After you click the download button with your phone connected through iTunes, 
there are a couple of more screens- one has a "next button" and the second has 
an "agree button". You can then tab to the activity popover button to monitor 
the progress. In order for the values to change, I tab forward once and then 
tab back to see the new reading. When the download is complete it will say 
'done'. I always download first, then tab to the update button. You can tab a 
few times to land in a field which will tell you of the progress of the 
process. When this is through, the phone will shut down, then come back up with 
the setup screen. HTH

updating through I Tunes

Hello
I have tried to update using I Tunes twice with no success. I get into I
Tunes and see the I Phone and start a download which it says it will instal
once it has finished downloading. That never happens though hours later when
I return home I no longer have the message that the update is downloading.
All is exactly as before -it reads the old version number and on the i phone
itself, it says one  update is available. I get no other prompting. 
What am I missing. Should I just do this through I Cloud?
Also, how do I get to I Tune Preferences? Through Properties or an
Advanced Tab which I don't know how to get to in Windows 8.1 on the desktop
computer I have I Tunes

If you have I Tunes on your main computer you can manually go in and create
a playlist of songs you want  to transfer or check albums you want to sync
to your phone. I think 
Gordon  is right you need to find the setting in the menus in I Tunes on
your computer to manually manage your selections. I'm not sure how
complicated it gets or how accessible I Tunes with GW Micro but you will
have to look in the menus then tab around to se what needs checking so you
only transfer what you want and not everything in your i tunes library.
Actually, I'm not sure you even have your music in I Tunes on your desktop
computer. Do you? 
If all that is in place you will go to settings and make sure you have sync
checked under I Tunes then go back to I Tunes with your phone plugged in
select i phone then see what happens!
Someone more expert can fill in other missing steps. I transferred
somemusic into Drop Box which is in Voice Dream Reader but you can also
create music folders in Voice Dream Reader. Otherwise I do not know where I
Tunes syncs and puts music you have transferred unlessit be in the Music
App.

To delete  a station in iTunes Radio first open the music app. 
Make sure the radio tab at the bottom of the screen is selected. 
Next swipe to the edit button and then double tapp. 
Next swipe to the station you want to delete . 
Then swipe down to the delete option and then double tapp. 
Then swipe left or right to find the done button and then double tapp.

I downloaded Spotify today and started a free 7 day trial of the
Premium which strips out the ads and lets you play what you want without all
the extras they throw in and I love it. I don't know how to use the app well
enough to do what I want to with it but for now, it's fun. I don't remember
what it costs but I believe I read that it was a monthly or yearly fee of
something like $9.99 or $99.

If I could, let me suggest that the easiest way for me to manage the music I
want on my iPhone is to 
make a playlist of the songs that I want.
Then, when it comes to sync time. I just select the playlist I want.
You can add songs to your playlist with the application key and go to add to
playlist and direct it to 
your playlist.
If you want to delete a song from your playlist, just hit delete when you
are focused on the playlist

It's featured tab in Music, or maybe it is the I Tunes app, I can't remember
now. It's where you can sample different genre's of music and it says you
can only sample 6 tracks per hour. I'm not near the phone so I can't check
it just now. Try going to the music app and look for radio or what else is
in there that will bring some already programmed music up by type. Funny
thing is that everything in the "alternative" section  hardly sounded
"alternative" The Indi rock was a slightly better bet for stuff that was
edgy or moor novel. I might have to try the heavy metal section or jazz
metal fusion section, if there is one, because that is what the 19 year old
dog walker brings me to listen to, and it's what I'm trying to get on the
phone!I give him Al De Meola, Wire, The Cure, Roxy Music   and he gives me
The Contortionists, Animals as Leaders, Apocalypta (instrumental cello metal
that I love), Chimps Banner..., Scale the Summit, and a ton of other artists
of this sort. He also gives me Don Byron, Coltrain and lots of classical
guitar and jazz greats which I know well. He plays jazz clarinet. It's quite
the exchange.

I guess that was what the other person was talking about, I pondered that too 
but was wondering what he meant by that, I'm working on that first cup of 
coffee so I'm probably slow today but I didn't see any iTunes radio sampler 
that let you listen to six tracks per hour (not sure if that was consecutive 
tracks on an album or if it was just the standard iTunes radio) anywhere, but 
the featured stations is the only thing that comes close to that. Like I said, 
i use it pretty much exclusively with the exception of a few things but I 
always end up back to it since it's so readily available on all my apple 
platforms, but had never seen this before. I know they're doing some new things 
soon and didn't know if this was something they were rolling out or what.

Does anyone know what I need to join or download or buy that will allow me

I Tunes and music library

I save this post from Tom quite some time ago. Can someone expound on this a
bit? Playlist and Mail Library? Is the playlist the place I copy the songs I
want transferred to the phone? I do not have it set to transfer anything
automatically to the phone. I want to do this and I guess it can be done
manually.
Jaws is not fully functional when in I Tunes on the computer and
I've got a ton of music I want to get out of the I Tunes list and also put
selected things on the phone.

I Tunes music sampling

Hello
I can't seem to get out of the screen after liking, disliking, telling the
app to play more like or never play this song again. It appears that after I
hit on what I want all that is left are the options and a cancel button.
There is no back button and the scrub gesture does not work. How do I lock
into place my choice then continue sampling music from whatever heading I
have chosen earlier?

I think that you mean U2 not YouTube.

They were given to everybody, at no charge, in September when Apple had it's 
big rollout.

You can either hide them and keep them in the cloud, if you may want them in 
the future, or there is a U2 removal tool at apple.com

Songs of Innonence youtube downloads that are in my I Tunes music library

Hi again.  As the Subject line indicates these are 11 Youtube songs 
that are in my I Tunes music library in my I phone.  I don't know how 
they got there.  I've seen this group advertised in the I Tunes music 
store.  I don't know if this some kind of promotion for this group and 
comes with this latest version of I Tunes 12 but I don't want these 
songs in my music play list.  So if anyone can tell me how to delete

Deleting a song from my I phone from I tunes

Hi Terri,
Do you have a large music collection or a small one?

If you have a large collection, I suggest making a playlist of the songs that 
you want to sync, then sync that playlist.
If you have a small library, then checking each one wouldn't be bad.
To get you started, assuming you want to use the playlist method...
Create an empty playlist and name it.

Go through your library, and when you come to a song you want on your device, 
bring up the context menu, and go to add to playlist, then select yours.

When your playlist is complete, attach the device and go to the button, just 
after more. It should say Terri's iPhone or something similar.
Then you should be able to hit F6 until it brings up the tree view, and should 
say summary.
Down arrow to music, and do not hit enter. ( Twice I think).

Tab to the section that asks if you want to sync music, make sure that is 
checked.
Check where it says sync selected songs, artist and playlist.
Tab to the playlist tree view and check your playlist.
Tab to apply, or 
That should do it.
Now, when you want to edit your playlist, you can bring up the playlist, and 
add or delete songs from it.
To me it's easier than going through 3 songs checking and unchecking.

*note, if you copy a file, files, or folders from windows explorer, you can 
paste them into your playlist view control V. iTunes will not respond for a 
while depending on how many songs are added. It will add the songs to your 
playlist and the main library.

Hi Terri,

When you explore the screen in itunes 12, just to the right of itunes store 
radio button, there’s a popup button.  It will say different things depending 
what you set when you activate it.  So go ahead and click on it with 
vo+spacebar.  You will hear the familiar popup window sound.  In the popup you 
will find a table,  Interact with it.  In this table you choose how to view 
your music.  The first row is “songs”.  If you choose it, and leave the popup 
window.  You will see that the popup button now says songs.  Move right and you 
should see your music browser and the table of all your songs.

How to add music using I tunes 12.

Somewhere in iTunes there is a setting to sync all songs in a selected
folder. This was how I ultimately solved the issue of transferring and
syncing music. After that, I was able to delete songs and clean up the
library over time. Sorry but I don't recall where that option is but
if you look in the main music window or in the Settings dialog box,
you should find it.

I have tried all suggestions given as well as checking settings on my 4s and
still cannot get songs or albums added manually. Check on the apple help
site but those directions do not apply as they are drag and drop directions.
The music app on the phone recognizes the correct library but using the
keyboard on my windows 7 pc does not work for transferring music even though
the option is there. Sorry to post this again but don't know what to do
other than to call apple.

Hi Marie,

Why did you put music on a thumbdrive in the first place if you were taking
your laptop with all the music on it? You could have just made a playlist
with all the songs you wanted to play.

I usually put any tutorials either into the Books or Podcast library. You do
this by going to a tutorial file, right click on it and select Get Info or
use the shortcut Control+I. Now go to the Options tab and tab down until you
get to "NMedia Kind", I think it is 3 tabs. In the drop-down select either
Podcast or Audio Book, then tab until you get "Remember playback position"
and check it and then tab to "Skip when shuffling" and check it. Then tab to
OK and activate it. Your MP3 file with whatever Podcast/Tutorial has now
been moved out of the music library into the Podcast or Audio Book library
depending on what media kind you chose.

how to get the new ring tones from i-tunes to my current list of ring tones,

I have i-ringer and I converted some mp3 ring tones with i-ringer.  I am 
wanting the ring tone that I created to of course go into my i-tunes, which 
they did, but I also want to keep the ring tone with my other i-phone ring

I assume you have those playlists you want to get into iTunes on your
computer or the ability to get them there from your Nokia C 5-00. When you
have them on your computer and know their folder location, do the following
for iTunes for Windows:

1. Launch iTunes.
2. Select the File menu and navigate to the Add file to Library submenu. You
can use the shortcut keys alt + f + a to execute this quickly.
3. You will be in a browse dialog box where you can browse to the playlist
files you want to add to iTunes, highlight them and then select alt + o to
open them.
4. The playlists should now be listed in the iTunes playlist section.

Adding your purchased music to the your i phone with the computer and the i tunes music i cloud library

I was trying to cynce some of my music that I have into my I phone with 
the computer and the I tunes music I cloud music library.  All of my 
music downloaded into the phone but the purchased music that was listed 
in the music I cloud I tunes library didn't download into the phone.  I 
wound up putting the purchased music into the phone from the I phone 
which was time consuming.  Is there a way that everything can be 
downloaded into the phone including my own music as well as the 
purchased music that I've purchased from the I tunes store when you 
have the I phone connected to the computer?  Thanks.

Getting file names in I Tunes

I have several albums that I've copied from a folder in "My Documents" that 
still show crazy titles like "Unknown Album" or "Unknown artist".  Many of the 
individual songs are simply the word track followed by a number.
I thought I Tunes would go on line and get the correct names onto these albums 
for me.
Do I need to delete, then paste these folders into I Tunes   after I've renamed 
them manually?  What a pain!  Would appreciate any help on this!

Please let me know if you already have this issue resolved or not, if you do
not I'd be happy to help you with it, while my issue was not identical to
your own I did have some issues on one of my computers when I installed
iTunes 11.1, more specifically when I chose to install the iCloud Control
Panel which is optionally included during the update process.

I am running W 7, office 2010 with JAWS 13. Ever since I downloaded the most
current version of I tunes (11.1) to my pc to sync my new phone to it, the
cloud folder inserted itself into my outlook program and has caused me to

information fields  into my address book, and I am wondering if anyone else

Hi all,

I am running W 7, office 2010 with JAWS 13. Ever since I downloaded the most
current version of I tunes (11.1) to my pc to sync my new phone to it, the
cloud folder inserted itself into my outlook program and has caused me to
lose accessibility to my calendar and   the ability to input new
information fields  into my address book, and I am wondering if anyone else
has experienced this.

I'm at the point of going to the tech doc, as I know not how to repair this.
Any input or suggestions are appreciated.  You can email me privately so as
not to clog this list.

You can get iTunes gift cards at all the big box stores.  Apple I also believe 
sells them too or at least I think I remember somebody telling me they did.  
They come in 10, 15, 25, 50, and 75 dollar sizes.

I can't find the butten to set my i tunes account to use paypal using jaws or vo.

Hi all. I just tried to set my I tunes account to use my PayPal account to pay 
for perch's. I couldn't find that radio button. I found visa, amax, discover, 
and nun. when I tried to set it up using vo on my phone I still couldn't find 
that button. I am using jaws 14 and have tryed to set this up on my xp pc witch 
is the one that I am on now and my windows 7 pc.  many thanks for any help that

my apologies, but a primer for I-Tunes software?

Hi, I'm a first time I-tune user and I have to admit, I'm not too bright 
when it comes to the interface with the ipod.  I am trying to load songs 
onto my mother in law's I-Pod shuffle.  I have the Ipod lugged into my 
computer, and have I tunes loaded, but how to log load the songs...I'm at a 
loss.  It's not like simply loading mushic onto my Victor reader stream.

Hi Alan,

There is no chance that your credit card will be stolen from iTunes as long
as you use a strong password. If, of course, you use a 6 or 8 letter
password which is a word instead of a random series of at least 12 upper and
lower case letters, numbers and a symbol or 2 then it's secure. Anybody who
wants to know about password security should google "Password strength" or
"password security" and read a very good article about how passwords really
work on Wikipedia. Some people think substituting a number for a letter in a
word like "G0ldf1sh" instead of "Goldfish" is save, but password cracking
programs can do that one in a couple of minutes.
I find one of the best methods shy of using a random password generator is
to think of a sentence, preferably a stupid sentence but one that you can
remember and then use all the first letters of each word with some numbers
and punctuation. There is actually a name for that, but I forgot what it is.

I strongly recommend not using a credit card.  Instead, use gift cards.  You 
can get one all the way up to a hundred dollars or as little as 15 dollars. 
If you are using a credit card as an on record payment method, your credit 
information can be stolen.  If you use gift cards, you can only get hit for 
the amount left in your account and straightening out a credit card mess can 
be both time consuming  and costly.  Yes, it may be a headache to find a 
sighted person to read the code on the back of the card after you reveal it 
but having somebody nail your credit card can be far worse.

If you check Songs in the group of radio buttons, the songs appear in a table 
just as in iTunes 10, so you can get to them quickly by pressing VO+CMD+T to 
get there quickly - one press to get to the Sidebar, and a second to get to the 
Songs table.

Hi Cheryl and Anna,

The old column browser is still there in iTunes 11, but it is not available
unless you check "Songs". It took me a while to figure it out, too, at first
I had Artists or Albums checked and was wondering why the Volumn Browser in
the View menu was greyed out. Once you check Songs it is available and as in
iTunes 10 you can select what you want in the column browser, e.g. genre,
artist, album etc. I think with the Side Bar visible and by selecting Songs
and enabling the column browser iTunes 11 is as close to the look of iTunes
10 as you get.

Hi Keith,

Control+S will show the side bar and it will stay unless you hide it again.

I also always liked the column browser. In iTunes 10 you had a complete list
of all your songs and with column browser enabled you then had drop-down
boxes for stuff like genre, artist, album etc. I only had those three
selected.

In iTunes 11 you can also have this, you have to tab to "Songs" and check
it, if you check album or artist the column browser which is also in the
"View" menu is greyed out/. If songs is selected you can show the column
browser and just as in i?Tunes 10 go to "View" and "Column Browser" which is
a sub menu and you can open it up with the right arrow and then select which
items you want in the column browser.

iTunes 11 looks very much like iTunes 10 that way, things maybe in slightly
different places, but it's all there.

Hello Reese,

I use Windows 7 with Jaws 14 and also upgraded to iTunes 11. This should be
universal, but for me F6 does work as before to get me from the iTunes Store
section back to the Source List. If you haven't done so I recommend you
enable the source list by pressing Control+S or go to the View menu and
select "Show Side Bar".

As for scripts I don't think there are any yet. I just had a quick look at
John Martin's BlindTunes website at www.BlindTunes.net. He currently just
says you need iTunes version 10.4 or higher, but since iTunes 11 has such a
different UI 10.4 or higher may not include 11. I sent an email to him and
suggested he adds something to his website which specifically talks about
iTunes 11, if I get a reply I'll post it on the list.

Playing I Tunes music through Tonido

there any way to play a CD I imported into Itunes? I'm thinking I will have to
