the history of one-man electronic possibilities, with his excursion into

Out of curiosity, what else has Taborn done
Yes, Carl Craig's Paperclip People plays Atomic Energy live at the Old
Queens Theatre on Sunday with The Advent, Bad Company, et al.
I'm disappointed to hear about the reception to Claude Young - no headaches
this time, or at least not of that kind I mentioned last night. It was no

I am trying to get some DJ sets online to be available for listening and
download, but my Real Audio encoder doesent want to work (all the recordings
sound like they are being listened to by pressing the skip forward button on
a CD player).
I think the problem is flaky software, so I was

So far the votes are Cubase: 3 (or maybe 4) cakewalk: 2 and logic: 0. My
quesiton is:Why?
Is cubase that much easier to use than logic? I've heard Logic is quite a
bitch. I'll say this much, I thought Acid was pretty much a toy, not that

Wow, the t-shirt designs all look pretty cool.
But at the moment, I favor #5, #8 and #10 entries.

First off: I'd recommend dropping Cakewalk from the race. It's
clunkier, the MIDI timing isn't as tight, and it's not as featurely on the
audio side (if I remember correctly).

As far as the .wav and midi mixing brother...
Recycle for waves and cubase for midi...
Or Vegas and Acid...
Or Logic as recommended before
Or Protools(lot's a dough)
You can always try logic but I know recycle was designed for what you want
to do ***I would to hear from some recycle users
Basically, if you just want to do simple MIDI sequencing to outboard
gear and toss some waves over it, use whatever is easiest for you.
That's exactly what i want to do. I love acid for it's ease of use but have
a compendium of vintage synths that I just can't leave in the closet
Second: if you're used to Acid, either Logic or Cubase is going to seem
kind of hostile. Neither does any kind of automagical tempo adjustment and
neither one has as friendly an interface. Prepare for that.
That's fine because I'm used to an MPC2000 which doesn't do the handy

Recycle is something completely different. It doesn't do sequencing
at all. It's a tool to automatically chop loops and sound peaks, and either
save them as individual wav files or drop them to a
Just confirming a long held suspicion
Minimal Nation was never released on CD, was it?
Rob Hood is one of the very few producers out there
who has such a good full-length that never got a CD issue.
Anybody know if Minimal Nation has a CD release slotted?

I recently got a Sony PCM-R300 dat deck from a pawn shop. I didn't get the
manual with it so I am in the dark on many of it's functions. If anybody
knows any www resources where owners/users manuals can be downloaded or even

is there anyone who submitted a design with Joe Lewis' fist from downtown???
i still think that is a great idea. i would vote for that one.

H... well, all I can tell you is make sure your connections are good and
the problem isn't a faulty sound card. I don't think I've ever encountered
this problem myself, sounds as if the file is being cooked somehow during

I have to get this track.
Sounds like the Real Encoder CODEC is feeling a bit under the weather -
that, or a hardware problem (of which I have also never encountered
before) - do what Matthew says, then try re-installing the encoder first,
making sure you have the right version (as per Matthew's instructions
