Actually, the second Surveillance seems to be a UK Surveillance that had
their stuff mastered at NSC, the DFA Surveillance is one of those been
around, but you never heard of them till recently type of deals. UR,

I remember Craig Taborn best as a member of a band called Tracy Science.
These were some of the baddest young jazz cats out there. In fact, I
remember their drummer, Gerald, uh, something or other, being ranked as one
of the top drummers in the state. I think they had tapes out, but that was
Right and wrong. It *was* a group prior to UR, but it swiftly changed to a
four man vocal house group that in many ways mirrored the Temptations (Banks
was NOT on stage doing choreographed dance steps - he was deep in UR by that
time). They toured with Martha Wash among other house notables
This Sundiata is an individual, not a group, though given his nature to be
everywhere at once, I wouldn't be surprised if folks thought he was a
group!!
The conga drummers called Sundiata? Anyone know of this because there was a
local percussive conga/ marimba group called Sundiata here in
Umar Bin Hassan of the Last Poets. Hardcore history, folks, check them out.
