Hi Mike, I'm trying to figure out what you are saying here?
People don't buy mix CD's really any more, as far as I know, so surely
that is correct.
But, why would be people be unlikely to consume it in any manner? I
would personally be curious to hear it, as I think D May will always
be a great
I personally will be buying it. But then I am old.

Hmm.. I can't say Fabric would release mix CDs as a loss leader to promote
I guess I personally don't know anyone who really buys mix CD's.
But you're right, SOMEONE must buy them. I suppose if you're name is
big enough, you can sell a lot of anything, and Fabric has a
reasonably big name. But with the number of free mixsets available
from sites like Resident Advisor,
You know...we're talking about Derrick May, mix CDs...and all that:
FBK and Reel By Real were just featured on a mix by Marcel Dettman
called CONDUCTED.
as memory serves me correctly, FBK IS a member of this list. From
what I know, Derrick May isn't...and based on pushing things
forward...I

Yo bro,
It's cool if u wanna pimp that cd with your track on it here, but to be
honest I think the DMay mix is a bit more relevant based on what this list
is all about. Barely anyone ever comments on what I post but I don't get
sore about it. It's all good. We're not obligated to comment on

Agreed,
Main point was that we don't need to be scolded for not commenting on
a post by another member, that's all. Plus I don't think I'm that off
by suggesting that DerrickHardwax Employee (for the purposes of this

I didn't scold anyone, except to say that there's TWO people who are
part of this list who are RATHER RELEVANT to 313 list, and
Detroit...and I am only stating it because it may be interesting to
others as well, and there's been no mention.

I disagree, if you make Detroit inspired music and consider yourself
part of the Detroit techno continuum, then you your music is relevant,
period. Especially if you are from the Midwest. Times change, people
move, and ideas spread across the globe. And Detroit techno now
refers to an idea, and to

I feel betteri do not post often about things I am doing, of which
theres a bunch...but I tend to think it necessary to mention what seems to
be a good thing-like americans and midwestern artists getting international
attention. Thanks for listening, and news from me is coming soon:)

thanks for writing up on this. unfortunately, most of us won't be
buying it, in fact, few of are likely to consume it in any manner. I
generally suspect his last rants at the monetizable DEMF's are the
last peeps we hear from this deeply valuable man. Celebrity or not,
one of our few folk.

Derrick May still slays most dancefloors without having to try too hard. I
wonder if this mix contains any of the ace tracks he's dropped when he played
here (SF) recently.
There's a 4+ hour long mix floating around Soundcloud that proves the man still
has few equals behind decks.
