and extracted it into /usr/local/portage which is set to my

I do recommend Debian over Gentoo. I have to agree with Ivan. I
would not use Gentoo as a production system. But I admit my bias for
Debian. Though I came to this bias because I have found Debian easier
to maintain in a production environment, as well as for personal use

I have a playbook that enables the vixie-cron service on Gentoo
However it fails to start the service using init scripts. Is there a
different way of managing services on Gentoo systems?

They have helped me with the installation of Gentoo on it, which has been
my main activity during my leisure time for the last 3 years. Well I did
