Does anybody have any reason to believe that this (seemingly new) USB interface will work with ALSA? The specs look pretty good and the price does also. I'm considering this instead of PCI interfaces since I might be forced into a long term relationship with a laptop soon. Bill

I have a card based on the YMF-744. Theoretically you should be able to use the OPL3 midi port to get midi sound, but I haven't been able to get this to work. Your best bet is to use timidity. Get a recent version that supports the alsa sequence as a server. The good news here is that timidity
