One thing to be aware of is that if AIE is not installed on a Windows system then the SQL Server adaptor is not available. You would then need to install a separate instance of AIE on a Windows box to be able to do this. Also, in AIE 7.5 the workflow was changed so that the SQL Server adaptor is

Whereas there is nothing wrong with this solution if it suits the business you should be aware that discovery tools will put all switchers, hubs, etc in the Computer System class. If you plan to use discovery in the future then you may be prevented from using the out-of-the-box discovery
