I almost hate to ask, but is your settings.ini file in the same folder?
Maybe create a copy of the out of the box file, and try using that, just in

You can include the server/user/pass in either the settings.ini or the
command line, but certainly not needed to be in both :)
Based on my own settings and what you are saying, your -i should be
settings.ini, not just 'settings'other than that, I don't see any
problems with your config.

Thanks everyone for the help. Going back through the install prerequisites
(which the online docs did contain, btw), I realized that this particular
db instance was using a different port...doh! The install ran fine after
that...

worked). If you want to create the database manually I remember seeing this
mentioned in the documentation. If you are on SQL server let me know and I can
email the steps to you.
