David, Since the files ARE on the CF, I'm not going to create the symbolic links. The more correct way would be to work to have the backup script backup the unionfs partition (as you're suggesting). What's currently in 0.6 will be 0.6.1. Any new features will be in 0.6.2. Darrick David Kerr

David, Actually if they are on unionfs they're on the CF card. In this case, /var is a tempfs file system. So assuming that the 'record' directory is created when the file is recorded, it only exists in ram (so when you reboot--poof it's gone). We could do some foo to have the /var/lib/aster
