I appreciate the ideas and confirmation I'm going about this correctly. I picked up my cable online this morning. Any advice on best practices for amp volume level and recording level? I notice the sound levels barely seem to register on Audacity even when recording levels are turned all the way

Hi, I'm currently working up to using the Inguz plugin for DRC, just need to get a USB preamp for measurements. At the moment I am using the plugin just for EQ. Works great - cheers Inguz. Anyway, my question There are a few threads at the moment asking for a phase inversion feature for

Hello, I've been reading about Inguz audio correction for some time and am excited to give it a shot in my system. I picked up the recommended ECM8000 measurement mic and am looking at audio interfaces now. I know the audio interface needs to provide phantom power to the mic and be able to record

To a good approximation: no. The measurement process uses very long logarithmic sweeps to reduce the effect of background noise and nonlinearities; mostly, background noise from the room/environment and nonlinearities from your loudspeakers will be much bigger than from the mic interface.

Interesting room. I suspect the right-channel nulls really are the right wall/window. Are there heavy drapes on that window? There are probably some rear-wall reflections from the front of the tv/console. I've played with a similar setup (fireplace, not tv) and some absorption on those front

You do NOT want to be doing this at a volume level where you might be clipping! Turn it down with your preamp (or squeeze box, it doesn't matter). It really doesn't have to be all that loud -- somewhere in the 75-80db range is more than adequate, according to most sources. I've taken

+1. The absolute volume level of sweep measurements doesn't matter very much, as long as the signal doesn't get lost in background noise. The relative levels don't matter much either, since each channel is equalized separately later whatever the absolute level of the measured sweep. The

I'm not familiar with Audacity. However, this looks like a time window impulse response and not a frequency measurement. I could be wrong, but, well, that's what it looks like. I think you need to be in another window of your program. Rattling the china cabinet is not the same thing as
