Hi all, It does make sense that they'll retire the mtDNA and y-DNA tests.. Here in the Azores group, it might actually be useful, but in the general case (like mine), I don't think those tests have a lot of happy costumers. I think a lot people who do those tests feel cheated in the beginning.

Yes, they can only get the raw data. They won't transfer the sample. So, for people wanting to upgrade, they just have to start over. :( And it's REALLY frustrating if someone's relative tested on Ancestry and they are deceased. There's many reasons why I chose Family Tree DNA over Ancestry.
