After a couple of decades taking public into the city, maybe 2.5 or 3 hours a
day rt, my current job is 9 miles from the house in the counter-commute
direction. Takes 15 minutes +/- if I make or miss a light on the way to the
freeway. Wife said "you earned it".

I can fully sympathize. Wendy commutes up to Bethesda every day -
about an hour and a half one way on a good day. The really ironic
thing is that to a great extent, given what we do, are commutes
really necessary?

Haven't read the post in question (yet)...but regardless of what it says, I'd personally not let any anonymous posts thru. If someone isn't willing to stand up for what they say, then it wasn't worth saying.
