So I can only speak about what I have seen and I have seen only one buy
CF
server because we showed them how they can benefit from its use.

I had a client who wanted to do exactly that. They wanted to run a transactional 401(k) website for 1 million+ users off a single server running over a 56K dedicated modem. The user validation was through an Access VBA validation module.

This isnt an argument of which is best (We all already which is :) ) it is a point that customers are NOT always informed of all the facts.. So therefore many developers/customers belive that because something is simply "free" to put on the server.. it's is the solution.

I asked to do some .NET training.
Manager said sometime in the future -
for now, training has to directly apply
to this year's projects.
So, it looks like more Stellent Content Management training.
This is not a bad thing, just somewhat more specialized...

CF versus PHP versus .Net versus ASP ...
PLEASE people ... I thought we all decided that we all use the best tool
for the job?
Some of us specialize in CF and make quite a handsome living with it,
others do the same in ASP ... PHP ... whatever floats their boat.
