There are bushings/bearings inside the column but the problem is going to be
finding the components. Classic Muscle shows a few components still available
but most say call or discontinued. Guess its possible that once you have the
unit apart, you could match the components to an off the shelf
I have a 66 chevelle SS I am doing same thing. It started making squeaking
noises.To make long story short,bearing in turn signal
switch you can get (make sure you get right one there is two)and a lower
bearing on the outside of firewall close to steering box above rag joint

Also, modern radial tires can handle more caster than the original bias ply
tires. It probably wouldn't hurt to add slightly more caster. Why not take
it back to the alignment shop have them recheck make adjustments?

I will suggest again that ground is critical. Your fuel sending unit should have its own ground wire. The temp sending unit is hot, internally the switch closes to ground.

Jim I appriciate your help. It seems to me Iam being told 2 different things
here. Leo say's there should be no power at pins 10 and 11 and it sounds to me
like your telling me there should be power at those pins
What you need to do now is with ign in run, go to the senders unplug them and
check for voltage at the plug. Either with a voltmeter or test light. This is
checking continuity from the gauges to the sender’s plugs. If you have
continuity then there is a grounding issue.
If you have no voltage
are good. Any

Does anyone know where the voltage for the fuel and temp. guages is fed from.
I have voltage to everything except these two guages. I unplugged the 12 pin
connector that plugs into the pcb and checked for voltage there. everything is
hot
Do you have any 12 bolt rearends for a 66 Chevelle.What do you want for your
427.
