hi, I am wondering what is the implication if I have a network whereby Cisco
Per Vlan Spanning Tree is implemented with PVST plus and I plug in a
external switch such as the Hwa Wei switch that doesn't seem to support
PVST. does it mean that I could only have one vlan on the hwa wei switches
Aren't interfaces with access-lists process switched?
So I would imagine it would be IP Input but this is rather vague as
well.
Correct me if im wrong.

Sounds like arp requests arent being allowed through.
Once its the arp cache is maintained, it knows where to forward the packets.
Just my theory.

around I used:
1) I attached a modem to the console
2 I dialed in
3) I assigning an IP address
3) I disconnected and connected to the switch via telnet

Everything I have read seems to indicate that R0 and R2 should have received
2 paths to the 172.16.0.0 network. I did a clear ip bgp * on R0. And I got
the expected result:

When I cleared R2, not only did I NOT get the extra path but I lost the

That's correct... If you want to use a different escape character use the
command escape-character followed by the ASCII number
Example:

I have route 172.16.0.0 on AS101 (R1) that is advertised via BGP.
When i do a show ip bgp, the only routers that have two paths to
172.16.0.0 are R3 and R4. R0

I don't know the details, but I would imagine that the boot roms are
different. I can't really see Cisco using a Phoenix bios... Finesse is the
original OS used in PIXes, the boot roms probably have the Finesse kernel
inside. Larry Letterman would probably know for sure.

Router A and Router B are connected to an Atlas 550 via BRI interfaces
