I was doing a TFTP upgrade procedure on the XL switch. There is a procedure
to delete the HTML files: delete flash:html/* before copying the new flash
and I have done that. After I upgraded the IOS and reload it. The IOS was
successfully upgraded but when I go to web based (Visual switch manager

thanks for all the ideas..
All routers are 1601, all running the same ver of IOS.
I have tested all the Eth ports on routers in fashion by TFTP'ing on the
same laptop the same image with the same cable and all the routers do the
task within few seconds of each other.I attribute the slight
set" the same next week,
or no?
If you take a "slow set" and plug that router into a "fast set" ... and try
again ... does the "slow router" become "fast"?
... etc.
Thanks!

TFTP doesn't use TCP. It uses UDP, plus its own stop-and-wait
retransmission protocol. TFTP records are a fixed size, IIRC 512
bytes.
Remember that TFTP was originally desi
sort, but I just don't recall). The point would be how much download do
you get per ACK?

When I do the TFTP lab in class..
I have 6 routers 6 PC and 6 Xover cables
All have the same configs except for IP addy's
Yet when the class pulls down the IOS the times for a 7 meg bin file vary
from 4 to 15 minutes.
The cables are all the same length same company who made them.
The router
Hi..Gaz and dear all.. I had read the document but I was confused by a
statement shown as below. The file that I download is the binary. *.bin and
the TFTP server is NT. tftp://IP/ seems like a UNIX format. What should
the format of the command for the winNT. Mine is not a tar file.

I don't see an ip default-gateway line. It should point to your router.
Think of addressing on a switch as enabling a small management PC onboard.
It needs an ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
First step is that pings must work between the switch and tftp server.

I have a tutorial that will be your best friend for this :)
Go to www.packetattack.com/tutorials.html
And view the 2900 tutorial. I believe it will answer that and a few other
questions. When you are done, please drop a note with any suggestions or
comments.

Hi all..
I have PXE clients in one vlan and 2 netware servers in another vlan out of
which one is DHCP server and another one gives TFTP server IP to the PXE
client..
As long as I keep clients in same Vlan it works fine but as soon as I take
them to different Vlan there is a problem.
I have used
