I think you guys are missing an important point. While contrib apps are
unsupported, there is at least some assurance of quality. It's hard to
get access (almost too hard), your work is closely watched (by people
and by rpmlint), and other people can easily 'overtake' your package if
it sucks.

I can barely imageine the grief involved in polling for content change and the
complexity of catching all the "change" signals is a daunting thought too.

I tried again to install Mdk 9.1 RC1
In fact, the dependencies dialog box stays in front but I can select others
packages and complete the install.

in the graphical environment netconf says you must be root to start netconf
linuxconf asks for root pass
