Ran across the below job posting for an IA position for Gehry Partners
LLP. The job posting seems a little vague in a pure IA sense. Was
wondering if anyone on the board has IA experience with architecture
firms that could lend some insight into what an IA would be doing in
this context. Much
Hi,
There was a mistake in the dates announced yesterday for I'11 in
Boulder. The conference starts on Feb. 10th (not 9th) and runs to
Feb. 12th, 2011. Sorry for any confusion. At least we have a year to
work through the kinks! ;)
Here's the corrected blurb:

It's worth an email to these folks explaining that the job title
needs improvement along with links to what an IA does and/or more
spot on job descriptions.

Hi,
I am investigating a concept for the center stack of a car. Does
anyone know what effects auditive and/or haptic feedback on car touch
screens - have on the user experience?
The concern is that the driver is already affected by things like
bumps, vibrations and sounds.
So, if there is a

I think it is very, very odd. The electronic banking, as the article
states, has been an available item for several years, and that part
of it is fine, but the round board just doesn't make any sense. As
a board gamer, games like Monopoly haven't appealed to me in years
anyways, but there was

Yeah, I can see how giving it a facelift (like any other product)
might be a marketing strategy. Would I'd love to know is if the game
sells better.
That aside, I can't decide whether or not it makes the game any
easier or more efficient to play. I'd have to try it out I suppose.

Looks like a mere graphic design facelift on an otherwise horribly designed

David,
While I agree with you that Monopoly is not a very FUN game,
saying that it is poorly designed because a large number of gaming

really fair nor is it necessarily accurate. There are a few things

Thanks for the link, Victor. I hadn't heard of Remote Touch before. I
like the haptic feedback idea, but positioning a cursor while driving
seems like a bad idea to me. One of the benefits of an iPhone-like,
touch-oriented menu in a vehicle setting is that you don't have to

As designers, I think we all know that in many cases, success in the
