The slim service uses about 50mb, +about the same in virtual.
There is no load on the server 1-3%. Have testet the network using IXIA
QCheck. The result is 93,023 Mbps, so that should be ok.
The server uses a total of 450mb ram, 900mb available,1 gb system
cache.

Are you connected by wire or wireless? May be the unit works on wireless
mode with your AP while you think it uses the ethernet... just guessing.

No, i can tell by the IP address that accesess the server that i uses
the LAN and not the WLAN. They are on different subnets.

This sounds like SqueezeNetwork does not have the 6.2 change to make
"None" display a blank screen. Prior to this None did give a clock
display.

Looks like we are on to something. Tested it when i was plugged in to
the network in my livvingroom. Got 100% at 64kbs , then it dropped. At
192 it was 0%. Moved it to a diferent place, the i got 100% at 4000 kbs
:-)
Will do some more tests to verify. Could be the cable..

I've just spent 5 minutes trying to find the page at slimdevices.com

I have found a problem with using the handheld skin from a treo650 PALM
OS 5.0 pda.

I am broadcasting over shoutcast on my LAN and I can not tune it in
using the slimserver. I can sit at that computer open Winamp and type
in http://192.168.1.102:8000 and tune in the broadcast. I can go to
another computer and do the same thing. But when I type it in at the

Is this between the switched ports on the WRT54GS or between the WAN and
switch ports [i.e. going through the router or not?]
I'd check the cables and whether you have full/half duplex configured
on either end (easiest to leave to autonegotiate)

60' is no problem.
There are some pooly made cables claiming to be "cat5" or "cat5e".
These do not have the proper twisting, esp. near the RJ45 connector.
Also, problems can be introduced if the cable is crimped, tightly bent
or folded.

I recently installed SlimServer 6.2 (Version 6.2.1 - 5194 - Windows XP -
EN - cp1252) and have noticed a problem with certain playlist entries,
such as the BBC link listed below. While it plays fine in Windows (and
under SlimServer 5.4), it does not work under SlimServer 6.2. A few

Assuming new WRT54GSs are like mine, there are 5 ethernet (RJ45) ports.
Of these one is labeled "Internet" and the others 1-4.
Using the default config I think it should switch between ports 1-4 and
route between 1-4 and the Internet port. Hence the question was are
both devices in ports 1-4.
Triode - thanks for your time. The PC NIC is in port 1 and the SB in
port 2. I am using the same cables that I was before (with the old
router).
Is there a way to hard wire the SB to the PC NIC to see if it is the
router that is causing the problem?

say I'm using internet radio, the instructions say I should be able to
hold down favorites button to add to favorites. Similarly, when I
press the Favorites button on the remote, absolutely nothing happens
(it does no

I'd forgotten that. When I got my SB3, the first thing I did was push
the new button on the remote. The server crashed. Instantly. I
haven't pushed it since. ;-)

just tested the plugin and it works great.
My wireless net goes to 100% up until 3000k, then I get 4000-78%,
5000-63% and 6000-53%.

Well, that's good. You know your Slim is working.
Your router might be defective, or is incorrectly configured. It is
also possible that the cable you've been using was marginal in quality,
and that your new router is not as forgiving.

Is this not bundled with 6.2? I don't recall downloading and

The Hosfelt, while a lot better for EMI in the AM band/modulation than

It's a Linksys WAG54GS (their latest and greatest). This is a Europe
only model that's a combined ADSL modem, wireless router and 4-way
switch. The modem and wireless are great - no problems with Internet
access etc. I'll try changing the cables tonight.

I'm unsure what has happened, but I'm having difficulty both updating
the firmware with my SB2, but also can no longer connect with
SlimServer. Problems started soon after going to 6.2.1, but can't say
if that was the problem. Every time I go through Network setup on the
SB2, it says something lik
Check that your MAC address matches the one on the tag on the bottom of
the SB2.

Wow, just got my Squeezebox 3 right before the weekend and have been
playing with it since. Love it, and thanks for allowing me to "free
the music"... Slimserver 6.2.1 worked like a charm on the XP box used,
no crashes so far.
