The slim service uses about 50mb, +about the same in virtual. There is no load on the server 1-3%. Have testet the network using IXIA QCheck. The result is 93,023 Mbps, so that should be ok. The server uses a total of 450mb ram, 900mb available,1 gb system cache. The buffer indicator on the SB3

Is this between the switched ports on the WRT54GS or between the WAN and switch ports [i.e. going through the router or not?] I'd check the cables and whether you have full/half duplex configured on either end (easiest to leave to autonegotiate) You can test network throughput with my new plugin

60' is no problem. There are some pooly made cables claiming to be "cat5" or "cat5e". These do not have the proper twisting, esp. near the RJ45 connector. Also, problems can be introduced if the cable is crimped, tightly bent or folded. What would work at 10Mbps would not necessarily work at 1

Assuming new WRT54GSs are like mine, there are 5 ethernet (RJ45) ports. Of these one is labeled "Internet" and the others 1-4. Using the default config I think it should switch between ports 1-4 and route between 1-4 and the Internet port. Hence the question was are both devices in ports 1-4.

thanks to all... It's a Linksys WAG54GS (their latest and greatest). This is a Europe only model that's a combined ADSL modem, wireless router and 4-way switch. The modem and wireless are great - no problems with Internet access etc. I'll try changing the cables tonight. Thanks Phil -- Phil Lei

I'm unsure what has happened, but I'm having difficulty both updating the firmware with my SB2, but also can no longer connect with SlimServer. Problems started soon after going to 6.2.1, but can't say if that was the problem. Every time I go through Network setup on the SB2, it says something lik

Wow, just got my Squeezebox 3 right before the weekend and have been playing with it since. Love it, and thanks for allowing me to "free the music"... Slimserver 6.2.1 worked like a charm on the XP box used, no crashes so far. A few questions to the knowledgeable around features I would love to
