Not having an Onkyo remote I can't say. But make sure the JVC DVD player remote codes are being used through SlimServer by going to Player Settings - Remote and making sure the jvc_dvd box is checked. However, this is its default setting, so that may not help. Does the remote have a

It may not even need that at its lowest setting. I could have easily avoided obstacles in the room with that amount of light. ;-) IR detector/emitters can be used as motion detectors (there's a neat program for my HP48GX calculator that does this) but not an IR detector like the SB uses.

Sorry, don't seem to be able to turn MIMO off. You can turn the device down to 802.11b, which I have done but that doesn't seem to help. I think it's got to do with the 6 antenas etc. but that's just a guess. I want to try the 29 firmware, but don't want to use the 6.2.2 build as I use Gentoo

I never thought of that, good point. Unfortunately I don't think this is happening. My receiver remembers the last decoding setting I had on a particular input. On that input I never choose Dolby Digital decoding, and you can't even activate DD decoding unless it's actually receiving a DD

You shouldn't see choppy play on either the sb2 or sb3 unless you're doing transcoding on the server or streaming something uncompressed. The buffer size is pretty healthy on the sb2/sb3 and should cover up any small network burping. What sort of files are you playing? Are you transcoding

MrC, Yes, she did try the actual WAN IP address and the connect failed. So, I will try to setup an SSH server on the same machine as my SlimServer and install the SSH client on her machine and give it a shot. My guess is that its most likely her work's firewall that is blocking the port,

For some reason I cannot access Radioio Ambient anymore - this just started a day or so ago. I can access all the other Radioio stations/genres -- but the Ambient station was the only one I listened to regularly. Can somebody out there verify that I'm not the only one with this problem? Thanks

Go to Start - Run - services.msc. Locate SlimServer. If it's listed as started, stop it by right-clicking. Now try to start it using the normal method. Sometimes when slimserver crashes it leaves itself in memory, preventing a new occurance from starting. --- savant127 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
