I'm having the same problem with iTunes and Slimserver, except that SOME
of my iTunes playlists are seen by SlimServer/SB3, and some are not! All
Albums are seen, though.
Any ideas what I could do to fix it? My iTunes library files (the XML
stuff etc) are in C:\My Documents\My Music, while the

The bridging option is only presented when you are connecting via
wireless AND there is a link
Not having an Onkyo remote I can't say. But make
sure the JVC DVD player remote codes are being
used through SlimServer by going to Player
Settings - Remote and making sure the jvc_dvd box

If it's any consolation, we're working on updating some of the
documentation in the wiki in this area.
But the facts change weekly, so it's hard to keep up. Slim in the last
week released 2 new firmware images to solve some of these problems.

I used it for the first time last night and WOW that display is bright
at its lowest brightness setting!!
I have seen others complain about this and never really paid attention
but man, it's enough to cast shadows all the way across the room (and
it's a pretty big room) and it's even bright
It may not even need that at its lowest setting.
I could have easily avoided obstacles in the room
with that amount of light. ;-)
IR detector/emitters can be used as motion
detectors (there's a neat program for my HP48GX
calculator that does this) but not an IR detector
like the SB uses.

It seems to happen frequently when my wireless strength drops below 50%
or so. I remedied the situation, for the most part, by changing

Sorry, don't seem to be able to turn MIMO off. You can turn the device
down to 802.11b, which I have done but that doesn't seem to help. I
think it's got to do with the 6 antenas etc. but that's just a guess.

(say, Dolby Digital)? Some receivers mute themselves until they figure
out how the stream is encoded (so you miss the first second or so of
sound), but I have seen others that don't mute. If the receiver
doesn't self mute and

Let it run for about 5 minutes and then re-started slimserver from

I have the original SliMP3 (vintage 2003). The ReadyNAS X6 looks pretty
interesting, and it runs SlimServer, but all the information I have
turned up refers to the Squeezebox.
Will the ReadyNAS X6 work with my SliMP3? Anybody running this
combination?

Unfortunately I don't think this is happening. My
receiver remembers the last decoding setting I had
on a particular input. On that input I never
choose Dolby Digital decoding, and you can't even
activate DD decoding unless it's actually
receiving a DD
As long as your collection is in MP3 and not being transcoded on the
server it will work fine. The infrant release does not provide support
for any format conversion on the server and the Slimp3 only supports
MP3 files.
Other than that, the software is standard Slimserver 6.2 so the Slimpy3
will

You shouldn't see choppy play on either the sb2 or sb3 unless you're
doing transcoding on the server or streaming something uncompressed.
The buffer size is pretty healthy on the sb2/sb3 and should cover up
any small network burping.
What sort of files are you playing?
Are you transcoding

Yes, she did try the actual WAN IP address and the connect failed.
So, I will try to setup an SSH server on the same machine as my
SlimServer and install the SSH client on her machine and give it a
shot.
My guess is that its most likely her work's firewall that is blocking
the port,

Some trouble came up when I started to play around with the
internetradio features of the box. The box freezes and behaves weird
and seems to experience some trouble/errors.

I've been working on the installation documentation for the
PublicRadioFan.com Browser since there have been a few questions
related to it on the forums lately. I have basically compiled
information from my own installation, my emails with others while
helping them set it up, and old related

If it's listed as started, stop it by right-clicking.
Now try to start it using the normal method.
Sometimes when slimserver crashes it leaves itself in
memory, preventing a new occurance from starting.

I was able to revert my Squeezebox2 to firmware 15 (works OK with
6.2.1). But my Windows XP machine still goes to sleep after five
