I had a similar problem. I can play WMA and WMA lossless but not WMA
Pro. Slimdevices told me WMA Por is not a supported format
Try recording in a new folder one of each and see if this narrows down
the problem

I have the powered off screen saver set to "Date and Time". It has
worked perfectly during the previous month that I have owned the
Squeeze Box. Last week I upgraded SS to 6.5.1 and it continued to
work. Today I unplugged the Sq. Box and took it downstairs. Time
still worked when powered off.

I suggest you try setting some of the debug options and post anything
significant that shows up. I'm not sure which ones you need but
d_files, d_formats, d_paths, d_stream, d_server and anything else that
looks interesting might be a start.

The only processes I see doing anything is slim.exe, mysql and
occasionally socketwrapper.exe, no flac.exe or alac.exe processes. The
hard drive chatters for awhile after attempting to play a song.

I use my di.fm premium all the time. There is nothing to setup.
There are 2 ways to do this:
1: right-click
Use either the "Tune in URL" from the web interface and enter the proper
URL (which should be something like:

There is certainly *a* way. Whether it suits you, or whether there are
better ways, I don't know.
There are programs that will take the sound going through your computer
and broadcast it as a stream that the SB can pick up.
Not knowing your OS, I can't give more detail.

Today I upgraded from 6.2.1 to 6.5.1 and I'm having no problems playing
my music. It's 90% ALAC and 10% AAC. Most of the ALAC was ripped with
iTunes, some was ripped vinyl converted from WAV to ALAC with
dBpowerAMP. I'm using XP SP2.

Bpa, yes, I had a google too - a good reason to stick with the
slimserver/alien setup. Using the 770 skin is also a little easier than

Doing a quick google - it seems that there is no RealPlayer plugin for
the Opera on the N770.
I am not familiar with Opera but some browsers let you launch an
external player, if a plugin is not available. If this choice is not
offered - then you have a reason for using Slimserver/AlienBBC.

Found a piece of software from Disk Internals Research called Linux
Reader - free - seemed too good to be true!

Are people really having trouble with Slimserver keeping up with 500

that. I have 14,000 songs that Slimserver can access and it never has

So, I checked how slimservers creates it's own m3u, when calling long
media files with cue sheets. The songs in the cue are called with this
format:
Example:

What turned out to be the problem was that the Norton "personal
firewall" that came installed on my computer was blocking internet

Try setting the server to allow it to send FLAC streams instead of WAV,
