The base unit for the Controller is simply a battery charger.
The Transporter does have two separate interfaces, wired and wireless,
and can be configured to use them both in a bridge mode. But not,
AFAIK, to use the wireless bit as an access point. Its presumeably

I've been using SC7 (originally in beta) for a month or so now, and it's
been rock solid. The improvements in stability and usability definitely
make it worth upgrading in my opinion. I've had no problems with
AlienBBC, but I did clear out all traces of 6.5.4 before installing,

If you simply add the .m3u to the favourites - then the Squeezebox
shows "Invalid XML" - presumably because it doesn't know how to handle
the .m3u coming via that route.
If you change to the .mp2 then DABBar sees show that the stream has
started - but the radio just shows
However, if you use the ink to the .mp2 in the "Tune in URL" box then it
works fine ... (but the .m3u does not - says "stream ended").
So - it looks to me like something has changed/broken in the way that
it is parsing the info about the stream when it comes in via
Favourites.

Transporter and Controller are in the same subnet then you can use the
broadband router as a WAP. Otherwise you will need to purchase a
separate WAP to add to the subnet. I've gone with a Netgear WG102 WAP.

there's no compelling reason for you to upgrade to SC7 at the moment. I
can't think of any major new features in SC7 that I use that weren't
available with 6.5.4.

(which wasnt free , toll free doesnt work outside the usa) and they
basically told me to upgrade to 7.0 , which I did and no joy. So the

Okay i actually removed a couple of other albums SC was choking on and
the scan now runs through fine, 2 hours quicker than before! (Although
i have no idea what was wrong with the files)
It has also removed the itunes videos from the library.
However i'm still seeing albums of the same name mixe
I think I know why SqueezeCenter was not starting at login although
"start at login" was shown as selected when I opened the preference
pane.
My guess is that it picked up "start at login" from the SlimServer 6.5
installation, and had never actually done the procedure to put an entry
in the login

I don't remember exactly what quality level that corresponds to.

Thanks for all your help. The type.conf file led me to try out one I had

According to Roku's website, the Soundbrige radio is most compatible
with Slimserver 5.4. Guess Roku stopped development after that.
However, I was able to connect and get the basic functions with
SqueezeCenter. I think the highest SlimServer firmware build I could
download to it was 40. It's also

So the SB is wired directly to the computer - not via the router? If so
the problem is simply that the SB can't see the outside world, it has
no internet connection and so it can't get the stream.
If I were you, I'd connect the SB to the wireless network, and then use
it to bridge the connection
