I spoke too soon. The SB3 has now developed a habit of losing connection
to Squeezecenter randomly. Sometimes when it is playing and other times
when it is paused. The screen just goes blank and then when you press a
button on the remote the SB3 gives the message about not being connected

Thanks for the replies to my problem, this place is excellent.
I tried a few of the ideas mentioned above and have worked out what the
issue is, it isn't as first thought a problem with wireless interference
- it is a problem with my wireless card/driver set-up on Ubuntu.

Something else to note is that it is the tags that LAME adds when
encoding mp3s that allows SqueezeCenter (and iTunes for that matter) to
play mp3s gaplessly. If your mp3s were made with another encoder, you
may not get seamless playback.

After doing a search, which is what I should have done in the first
place, I see that sync'd players will have a gap. I'm running a sb3 as
the main unit, and duet receiver upstairs, and I might have them sync'd
up. BTW, Most of my recordings are either flac(majority) or mp3's.

might not lose too much if you manually uninstall SlimServer and
manually install SqueezeCenter. I know there is a configuration file
for SlimServer called "slimserver.pref" that you can try saving, but
that's different between Sl

I agree - I noticed that and it doesn't look as nice. I voted for it.
I've also noticed that when you go right or left around in the menu
that the "swipe" transitions have changed as well. It goes by very
fast as it did earlier, but when you look at it, it seems "wrong"
somehow at the moment.
Re the problem you mentioned in the enhancement request (playlists
converted to linux names not working in Windows) a simple workaround is
to save the linux version under a different name on the QNAP, or better
yet, in a different folder. So you'll have a Win-compatible set of

displayed. For my local music library, it is set to ignore "The" in the
artist when sorting and this works fine. However there doesn't seem to
be any such setting for Rhapsody, so all of the artists starting with
"The" are grouped

I actually did see that thread, but it looked as though AndyG was a bit
lost as well as to what was causing the issue.
I've only got one player, so that isn't the culprit. I've logged out of
SqueezeNetwork before launching the SqueezeCenter application, but it
didn't do me any good.
