I think that SC looks at some database of MAC addresses to determine
whether it's an SB2 or SB3, and that database isn't perfect.
Personally, I don't worry about it, especially because the SB2 and SB3
internals are identical.

When I had this problem it was because the user that SqueezeCenter was
running under (user slimserver) did not have permissions to write to
the playlist directory. Changing permissions on the directory was all
it took.

What kind of processor and how much RAM does it have? That info wasn't
in the first layer of specs I looked at on the D-Link site. You'll need
at least 64MB RAM to run SC7 tolerably, and 128-256MB is actually a more
reasonable minimum.

as far as I know there is no way to control SqueezeCenter with iTunes.
You can stream to iTunes as you are doing, and you can have SC update
its info from your iTunes library, but you can't control it via iTunes.
iTunes doesn't speak SC's protocols.

To be a bit less laconic, the DHCP range can be a subset of the
addresses on the subnet. For example, my home subnet is 192.168.0.1 -
192.168.0.255, but I have set my DHCP server to give out addresses only

There were some threads a couple months ago, but more slanted to the IR
remote. People have done some clever re-mapping of the codes to achieve
this and similar goals with the IR remote, but I imagine the Controller

The jive_7.0.1_*.bin file is the firmware for the Squeezebox Controller
(Duet). It won't do anything for your ReadyNAS. I don't know what the
