Dear Bob,
Your message about the Yuan is very interesting.
As I recall, it is difficult to ex-patriate Yuan
from China. I currently do business with a
company that buys submersible pumps made in China,
so there may be a way.

Yes - Digital Certificates can be Spoofed.
CCard can't be defeated this way.
The hack site would have to have the correct challenge for the CCard to
issue the correct password -- when you log in with CCard you are challenged
by the system servers, and an incorrect challenge for the individual

That's the problem -- I think most people use the same passcode. A
strong design should make silly stuff like that hard to do by default.

That¹s not the case in a system where the SecureID is used in conjunction
with a user/pass which is how it is supposed to be used.
The numbers generated by the SID are time sensitive (and you cannot login
twice in a row with the same number even if you are still inside the
timeframe), so assuming
You are correct that will work, unless IMHO, the spoof site acts as a
proxy between the user with the crytpo card and the real site to be
hacked. This problem might be overcome for the short term by displaying
the number entered into the crypto card graphically like e-gold does

I agree with Bob. Actually, the 15% growth rate experienced by the digital
gold economy is not the same thing as economic growth like economists talk
about. It is one sector of the economy shifting over to a new technology.
