new Begali Expedition paddle s/n 301 at the Begali
Booth. For a number of personal reasons I have
decided not to keep it.
Used sparingly over these past three months, this

then why did Elecraft seek to improve it with the

I'm interested in possibly trying the K3EXREF in
my good ol' K3 for no good reason other than its
something new and fun to try and can give some
bragging rights about frequency accuracy. Can any
of you comment on your experiences in using the
K3EXREF? Elecraft provides very little

I've been running at 440 Hz for many years.
It's he only way to go on CW for ease of listening.
(440 Hz also has musical implications with
instrument tuning).

As I was planning to purchase the LP-Pan for the K3, I recalled reading
back then that obtaining a signal form the K3 for the LP-Pan could be

After reading literally dozens of postings on the 'problems' with NR in
Beta 3.27, I have seen only 2 responses about NR in Beta 3.30 since its
release.
Not being one to jump into beta versions too fast myself, I ask:
1. How's the new NR doing in 3.30
2. Is the extended bass
IMO you cannot beat the Heil Pro 781 with the K3.
Sounds amazing with the internal TX EQ adjusted correctly.
Can be configured via a boom or desk stand.
I believe it costs less than the pricey SM-20 though the boom or desk
stand will be extra.

Respectfully, IMO you are making a big mistake and over-estimating your
perceived difficulty with the KRX3 installation.
I put mine in in under 3 hours with no complications at all. Front
panel does not need to be disassembled just removed and
reinstalled. It was not hard.
DX is always there but at the solar minimum just a bit harder to work.
Requires patience and diligence.
Case in point, yesterday at 2230Z I worked the guys on Willis
Island-VK9DWX with my trusty K3 on 20m phone barefoot with a Carolina
Windom. (I think I heard that they are running K3's

I am using an electret condenser mic element with the TX EQ set flat on
all bands with great audio reports so far.

Like Christmas it finally arrived!
Serial #371 arrived here yesterday and inventory is just about finished.

Let me say if the radio comes close to the quality of the packaging then

The delay of the second receiver option is to me both highly regrettable
and somewhat deceptive.
I, for one, based my purchase decision greatly on this option being
ready for prime time which is obviously was not and apparently will not
