Hi All
My K3 has developed an issue. It randomly switches to USB from CW,
especially when I am turning the main tuning knob but sometimes when I am
parked on a freq. Any ideas as to what the solution is? 73 Randy

I have a W2 with an HF coupler and I am entertaining the idea of putting it
out in a waterproof container just before the feed-point of my antenna
(non-resonant vertical). The run is about 75’. Does anyone know if there is

I've used a few of the Gearmo USB to RS-232 adapters, and they also seem
to hold their COM port assignments constant (on any one given machine,
of course). They just use the standard FTDI chipset with no special
drivers. Not sure how they do it, but it works.

Found the problem! As many would guess - it's a solder problem! A tiny
splash of solder in a random location shorted one of the remote control
lines to ground!

Costco does have different brands, but I've gone with their in-house
Kirkland brand. These are rebranded versions of another manufacturer, and
that has changed from time to time. One can discover the actual maker with
Google, or just ask the Costco hearing aid people.
