Yes, and it's curious that there are clearly better decoders out there. I built
an Open QRP rig last year and the decoder was phenomenal...much better than the
KX3, so assuming this is a software issue, is this something that the Elecraft

Yeah, apparently they prototyped a single tube (can't remember what the
final was) KPA-1500 years ago ..but never went anywhere with it. I have the
KPA500 and an Expert 2k-FA and they both play perfectly with the K3. The
KPA500 is about half the weight, a third the price, and much much quieter.

your using a signalink USB, you need to have the mic bias off UNLESS you
are using their prefab jumper board. If you're using their board, you can

I had that same garbage power supply. Got rid of it and stuck it in the
garage to collect dust. It was causing all kind of noise in the shack. I
bought the alinco switching supply and have been very happy with it. I use

I've had a LOT of different keys and also settled on the Whiterook as a
knockabout QRP key. I think it's really an excellent key. Lots of fun to use as
a sideswiper too, and just a tad cheaper thanwell just about everything
other than a couple of nails in a plank and a hack saw blade!

Yes, a proper crimp is important especially if you're using smaller ga wire. If
that's the case folding the wire over enough that it fills the connector is a
good idea, then a good healthy crimp. If the connection will not suffer any
repeated flexings, I also solder mine just to make sure when w

Well, just got my pre built K2 and I'm looking for recommendations for external
in line fuse as well as power supply. I recently fried my OHR rig and will not
power up any of my rigs without the proper fuse again.
I currently have an inline 1A fuse with PP connectors and a 2.4A power supply.

If you install Lpbridge which is a port sharing utility which sits between
the K3 and up to 5 applications wanting to communicate with the radio, then
the problem will disappear! It looks daunting to set up, but in reality
it's easy. Problem solved!

I'm going to be installing a KIO2 interface into my K2 shortly, but have a
basic question. Is there a way to make the cable USB? I mean...who uses RS232
or Serial interfaces anymore? I'm assuming I will need an adapter of some sort.

I just completed my KAF2 audio filter and installed it. All is well...BUT I'm
not able to set the clock and the date. The display works and I get the default
numbers for both date and time, but when I tap the band buttons nothing
happens. Everything else functions correctly.

I'm waiting for a KAT100 amp to be delivered for my K2. For now I'm using a 40m
end fed LNR antenna so bypassing the ATU at 100W should be no problem, but I
plan to hang a new Buckmaster OCF 7 band antenna, and can't seem to locate the
power limits of the internal K2 ATU. Do I have to get an ext
