Joe,
The SB command is in the K3 Programmer's Reference. Look in the Command Set
Overview, Table 1 on page 1 and in the Command Reference section on page 16.
Its listed as SB *, not SBx. SB0; turns the sub receiver off and SB1; turn it
on.

Is there another reference manual with more in depth info that I need?

See if the SB prigrammer's reference command works better for you than a switch

Try

I don't have a subreceiver, so I can't test it fully. I think it was the BSET
that
was confounding you. (SWH11 SWT11)

Hi Carl,
I like your idea of a reset-to-known-state command usable with macros.
I'll add this to my list.

I set out to make four macros so that I could select either of two mics
(CM500 & HC4) in either of two modes (contest/DX & net/ragchew). This
involves setting mic HI/LO and bias ON/OFF that toggle by a keypress, so you
can't be sure whether you need to do a keypress unless you know the initial

Commands with the ! or @ prefix are "Direct DSP control" commands, not
commands that are executed by the main control processor in the K3.
These commands are not supported by the macro facility within the K3 at
this time. They are only supported by K3 Utility. See "Important

I've read the K3 Programmer's Reference and the K3 Utility (V1.4.4.25)
"Help". Perhaps a programmer can understand it, but it offers me no
step-by-step guide as to how to construct a Macro. So I suppose I'll limit
myself to Macros others have written - but I based on the following

That is exactly what I built into my homebrew amplifier and my SB-1000. It is
an input
that disables the key line if it doesn't see +12v. I use DIGOUT1 to turn on a
transistor
switch that applies the 12v to the amp.

Vic,
I am going to lobby for an "Amp Inhibit" input in every amplifier that
will accept exactly what your external relay driven by DIGOUT1 signal is
doing. :-)
IT does not have to place the amp in standby, it just opens the Key In
line, and would be easily be done inside the amplifier. When
I use the DIGOUT1 line to enable my amp, as someone mentioned. It's reliable
because you
can turn it on or off and not just change its state, as with some other
parameters.
You would be amazed at how much output you can get from a single 3-500Z (for a
very short
time!) if you hit it with 110

Mike,
My macro doesn't key the K3/amp, but if I forget to reach over and take the
amp off-line before I do key, the protect circuit will shut the amp down
with the 85 W input. I remember ninety-five percent of the time - but

Please! Key Out is not independently controlled by the K3 controller!

Yes, yes, yes You're right. I keep forgetting this one. I have some
mental block about it. Sorry all for the blather.
It's one of the few control leads that are not driven by their own state
output from the CPU. It's run off of 7R to add the transition time to the
state change in the amp

Are you saying when you activate your 85W macro it also keys the rig/amp? Maybe
I
