I don't think putting EMC2 in ROM would change much. The software can

This post is a report on a stepper test I ran today. I'll include a few
links at the bottom. This test was a bit stripped down so that I could
see the maximum speed I could get for my system. I stopped at 360 IPM
because of whipping of the lead screw. I could probably get to 400 but

Dear All.
Thanks for the previous help on the start of EMC2 with

Hi Nasir
I know nothing of the Exelon you are trying to drive with EMC. Let me
assume that you are sending analog voltages to the machine's drives from
the Motenc card and getting digital pulses back to the card from the
encoder.
If the machine travels to far in both directions, then you are

Hi Ray, Nasir,
Surprising, not really, but certainly disappointing. I had the same
problem a couple of years ago.
Moves to X_max, Y_max and back to X0Y0 showed an offset. IIRC mine
was more like 2.5 mm and negative.
I don't think the offset was proportional to move distance or
velocity. Furt
Hi Nasir
It's good to hear that you've got the system running -- even if not perfect.
I'm not acquainted with the EX-200 board. Could you describe it just a bit.
Does it take step-and-direction or some other open loop signals from the PC or
does it connect the real encoder to the PC and ta

Anyone out there done an EMC2 config to use EMC2 as a hotwire foam

Since I have never used a foam cutter I'm at a loss as to where to
start.
Ideas?

Does the Ubuntu EMC2 CD also install all the emc2 source code?
The reason I ask is that I am still using probing so I have not made the leap
from the old EMC.
But if the source is there and I can easily rebuild emc2 then I would not mind
upgrading and taking the chance that I could get probing

By displaying each point as X'Y'Z' = rotate(X,Y,Z,A), it would be
possible to show the effect of A-axis movements in the output, but
there are some questions about the "meaning"
